in TvP, if you have a vulture with 3 mines, instead of clicking on the ground to place the mine, you can click on the minimap to place the mine. if you have only 1 vulture and tell him to place to mine by clicking on the minimap, AND if you don't move your mouse on the minimap so you tell your vulture to place all 3 mines on the same place, the 3 mines will be perfectly on top of eachother.
for some reason, the mines will not kill eachother when they explode when the are right on top of eachother like this. this means 1 hit kill for speed zealots, dark templar, goons. the splash damage radius will kill everything within a 2 marine radius when the 3 mines go off. good for waves of incoming mixed zeal/dragoon troops.
the problem is, in a real game, it takes a long time to keep your mouse not moving on the minimap and waiting for your vulture to finish laying htem down. does anyone know of any mouse position loggers that can record your mouse's position on the minimap? this way, i can pres a hot key and my mouse will automatically go back to hte place it was on the minimap. so i can do other stuff while i'm waiting for my vultures.

OMG rly? ~_~ That sounds like a cool trix >_>

hmm......I'll try it out =D

Neat idea :o back later gonna try it out see how it goes..

that's pretty hard to not move your mouse especially when you move troops.

I could write you one, but that'd be hax =] While we're at it, why not write a little program that - on the touch of a hotkey - moves the screen back to each cc/nex/hatch and produces a worker from each :p

it's not a hack. someone really good can probably aim the mouse perfectly, but i'm not progamer so i'm not gonna practice that. damn man. i just want to see waves of zealots dying to perfect mines, and my opponent go wtf? ya. blizzard gotta make new patch because this aint hack. it's just imba.
this will let me use less money for defense. it'll let me make my expansion those few seconds faster. i'm macro based player so i like these things. i'm sure there are other ways to abuse it too.
if one of the mines is targeting something, it's stacked so it can't move. tell ur vulture to kill one of the mines. the other mines will shoot out long range like marathon runner and kills the dragoon really fast. dragoons are fucking slow, so it's like "duhhhhhh... AHHH!!!!" beeeeerbbbebrrrbbebrbb and die and blue goo. yes. and there will be much blue goo.
haha. mine micro.

It's a replay of me trying it out on LAN vs a computer. The computer screwed me over by going fast expand instead of getting units, so I can't confirm if they do 1 hit kills on zealots/goons/dts.
Here's what I found out. Strangely enough, I've never tried to stack mines on the screen. That is, telling a vulture to place a mine, wait for it to finish, then telling it to place another mine on top of it. I just tried (I think that's what IntoTheWow was suggesting) and the vulture cannot place another mine on it. It gets near the mine and stops. With my first few vults, you can see me attempting to stack mines, and the closest I get is slightly overlapping mines.
I then tried Code's method closer to the center of the map, and it worked perfectly. It's not too difficult to keep your mouse still and stack the mines using the minimap, but it is time consuming.
I had planned to lure some toss units into the mines to see how effective they were, but as you will see, the computer didn't make any combat units.

please can you write me one? i'll position my mouse on the minimap and press "ctrl + shift + 1" to save the position. then i can press "ctrl + alt + 1" to move back to the position when i'm ready to tell the vulture to set another mine.
i used to be a cs major so i think if you know how to code it, then coding it wont take very long. it doesn't need to be user friendly.
i also have a program that lets me press "p" to make scvs so i can do 0p9p8p so i can macro like protoss even though i'm terran. haha. is that hack? no. does it let me play more like progamer? yes. do i have time to practice so i can press 0s9s8s as fast as 0p9p8p? no.

Execution is part of the game. Your program is definitely a hack.

Frankly I see any kind of interface aid that doesn't come standard as a form of hack in a game like Starcraft. I was merely pointing out how fine the line between gimmick and hack is O.O I suspect that you - having been a CS major - would have little trouble writing this for yourself anyway.
