It's really interesting to see how the history is written. You would think with internet and the accessibility of information the people would have more a less the same views on such a critical events. You would think, the cause for every conflict is always some idiots that got into politics. Turns out it's not. Turns out many times a majority of people from the country agree to use force or to play dirty in relations with other countries.
Don't you people want to know the truth first? Can't we agree on some simple fair-play rules in the world? I mean, given the full disclosure - full access to correct information, would we agree on what has to be done with Ukraine? I don't think we would agree. We wouldn't agree because we still think like monkeys from 15-Th century. We still think, those imaginary lines on the map a worth a human blood.
Putin's rating has risen because most Russians basically agree to take Crimea from Ukraine. With a risk of armed conflict. With a risk to have a damaged economy. And this is not because they don't acknowledge it can affect them personally. It's not because they think they wouldn't fight in an armed conflict (hopefully it will not be the case). I'm sure many of them would. It's because they think, those lines on the map are worth that. It's because they think those lines are more important than a fair play rules that would help the people live peacefully. It doesn't matter that you can't build anything sustainable with a dictatorship. It doesn't matter that you can't give them better lives. All it matters is those lines.
This mentality is so spread and so powerful in most of the places in the world.

those lines on the map give you oil; of course it's worth it. besides, the faster people realize that land >>>>>>> people, that land has always outworth people, the more time they'll have to try and change that.

Hmmm...
The de-escalation does not look likely...

I guess the internet warriors from this topic that called for immediate war on Russia so in future Russia is not anothe Nazi Germany are already packing their bags and getting plane tickets to Ukraine to join their military

People (including me) called for actual pressure from the EU/US when Russia started shipping troops to dissuade Russia from invading.
If you stop Russia from marching in the situation is a lot easier to resolve then it is now.

On other news, the EU is like a leaky cauldron, my friend said there's a 30 minute break between classified documents arriving and being able to read about them on the news.

I would have far fewer problems with crimea joining russia if russia would apply the same standards in cases where parts of its own current territory want to become independent; like chechnya, Ingushetia etc.

To be honest, it's hard to call sanctions on Russia. Sanctions on "some Russian politicians" - yes. But no more.

It's a rather ironic statemet considering the level of corruption in Krygystan though. Can we just swap Kyrgyzes from Moscow for Russian population there just to free some working slots here, save someone from being killed/being on drugs/burglared and make situation peaceful? Honestly. Let's just live in peace. Everyone knows the only criminals in Moscow are the Muslims right.
You're right, good guy. Not only tho, just 90%~.

-Archangel-, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. I just ignored what you said because it didn't sound true and you provided no evidence. It's also a petty thing to say, which is more reason to ignore it. Now make it worthy of discussion or stop spamming the thread with minimum content posts.

It looks like the G8 is no more:
Important things to note: - Blames the Russian Federation directly, - Mentions escalation outside of the borders of Crimea (probably the mine-laying and sabotage events).

There was bronzeknee as the most recent. There has been a few others too. Clamouring for war, acting like it is a glorious proposition, hidden behind their keyboards.

Except I am not proving anything because I know what they did and if the other guy does not believe me I really don't care. They are here in this thread and he can find them if he wants to. Actually he is the one needing to prove it, not me, as I see it.

They could just send some jets to fly around Poland or Romania and call it a "military response". I don't expect anything more than an empty gesture.
