This is Justin - the "executive director" of Core. Thank you for the nice welcome Team Liquid..

We are NOT public yet and will not make our public announcement until September 1st. Our website isn't complete yet and we do not even have all of our overlays and graphics completed. This is the site: coreprogaming.com -- our members area IS complete however and we have roughly 300 members. We also have a private teamspeak.

All of our players have already been paid.. they are paid at the 1st of each month.. they also have received gear already.. I'm not an 'esports' person.

CorePro Design LLC has all paperwork submitted with the state of California and we are drafting the articles of organization and equity distribution. This entity will own Core Gaming because it's easier to channel funding to our players through an LLC than through an actual gaming organization.

Here is a draft post that I made for our incomplete liquipedia page:

Core Professional Gaming (Core Gaming) is a Starcraft 2, League of Legends, and DOTA 2 community comprised of over 300 active members. Established on May 1st 2013, Core Gaming (Core) is owned by CorePro Design LLC, a software consulting company based in California. The community sponsors a professional Starcraft II team, but maintains an amateur status in LoL and DOTA 2. The Starcraft 2 team currently has a roster of 5 high-level grandmaster players with future expansion to 7 or 8 players.

Core strictly maintains a troll-free, friendly environment on it's websites and TeamSpeak server. Anyone is allowed to join Core and use the Core TeamSpeak, provided that they adhere to the community guidelines. If you would like to explore and join Core, the Core community can be found here.

Core is a non-profit, player-centric gaming organization. Each manager of Core denotes his or her time free to the organization. All managers are required to hold a 4-year degree in a field related to their position, must have a full-time job, and must undergo a background check to verify integrity. All money from sponsors and donations goes directly to the players and to the community itself. Management is forbidden from profiting from the organization, except to cover costs and expenses necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.

All Core rostered players receive a monthly salary, gear perks, and travel subsidies for major tournaments. Every player is paid on the 1st of every month.

Are you familiar with the concept of a PSA? It's used to warn people to stay away from things so as to prevent unwanted consequences.

Also calm down.

There are still a number of inconsistencies here.

1. You still have the issue of this "company". You claim the name is "CorePro Design" while your lone sponsor at the moment listed it as "CoreTech Engineering". Now I understand mistakes happen but that would be a very large mistake and sponsors would always be careful to ensure every bit of information is correct. You also just said it was easier to make this company as an LLC for funding purposes however claim it's a software consulting company. What does that have to do with your team?

2. Your "organization" has been around for a couple of months. You were a community for an arcade game and you yourself have been known within the community for having a bit of a bad reputation and you were the former leader of a team prior to this one. I don't see how you can say you're not an e-sports person when you've been involving yourself for months. You also go from just being this community into a professional organization all of a sudden? And a member of your organization claimed before that there were no intentions at the time for the team to become a professional organization. So how do we go from that to this all so soon?

3. You post says everyone involved with the team management wise is required to hold a bachelor's degree in a relating field ti which that person is involved with the team? If that's true, please explain how a guy with a supposed background in neuroscience and nanotechnology has anything to do with managing cashflow and sponsors? And how Biochemistry relates to communications? You also have a supposed creative director for content with a degree himself who makes a promo video stealing the work of a guy who makes After Effects tutorials. Not that I consider this the most important issue but it still shows some of the issues with your claims.

4. You're associating yourself with a person who I quite honestly don't believe he is who he says he is and many people in this community feel the same way. Think to yourself for a moment, how a college student who is currently conducting research in nanotechnology among supposedly having 2 profitable companies would have the time to play and coach players in Starcraft, let alone conduct himself in the ways he has on this website. Plus he claims to be the captain of his CSL team yet is no where to be found on Purdue's starcraft 2 team on their wiki page or their website in the Purdue database. Add that to the multiple accusations that even more notable players have thrown at him regarding his account being boosted, I can't believe anything he claims.

5. You said all players have been played and received gear. Some of this checks out and I've heard players have been paid but from what I've been told, not everyone received gear and the player I've had contact with never once mentioned travel as part of the offer.

I think there's still a lot of explaining for you to do...

I feel that I should make this post to question a new up and coming organization in the North American scene. eLeVaTioN/TL,

Believe it or not, I actually do appreciate a thread like this. I think it's great that the community questions the integrity of so-called 'gaming organizations' due to the rampant fraud that has taken place. Honestly though, next time you do an investigation.. maybe just contact me? Talk to me on skype? (I pm'd you the details). Hell, if you live by me, come to my office and I'll discuss things with you -- and if you're still skeptical, then definitely continue to make the post.

The LLC is a real LLC, the paperwork was filed last week. California does not let you do online filing.. so I literally have to mail the Articles of Organization to the State and then they have to mail it back and then I have to sign some more things and then mail it back again.. and THEN they will list us an LLC. The reason I had to rush the paperwork is because things have moved much faster than I originally anticipated.. I don't even have the LLC's website launched yet because I'm waiting on final verification from the state.

Next week, go call the Cali Secretary of State's Office and file a motion for full disclosure on paperwork submitted for CorePro Design LLC . You will see that the paperwork is submitted but that in California, they take a LONG time to do anything.

The reason for the LLC is to have a holding company for the gaming entity, but also because our members (managers?) wanted an umbrella name to centralize marketing for their independent consulting services. As one of my side jobs, I do software/web development on an independent contractor basis. This now allows me to mitigate my liability by placing it under a legal entity. The same goes to our other independent contractors who wish to do the same.

As for the battle.net post by SgtSlaughter, he is a regular member of the Core community, but in no way officially represents our vision and direction. The bnet forums post was meant to recruit amateur players to our community, it was not meant as a solicitation for pro players. I sincerely apologize for his post.

Let me reiterate that our organization has not been publicly announced. When we're developing our web infrastructure, we program it to reflect features that we expect to be viable in the next week or so. Highlighting inconsistencies in an incomplete website is like alpha testing a game and saying it's a scam because it doesn't work properly yet.

I will also reiterate that: no manager in this organization will profit 1 penny from the gaming team. All money from our sponsors, both personal and corporate, are itemized expenditures that go directly to the players and support the community infrastructure.

Last thing, referencing our incomplete, under-construction liquipedia page and website, and then performing google searches a processing LLC is not investigating. If you want to actually investigate, call people and talk to people. Talk to the current players and ask them if they are paid. Talk to them and see if they are getting what they are promised. THAT is how you investigate.

Thank you and I look forward to making Core an asset to the SC2 community.

All the best,
Justin

I also want to ask about this company. Now granted I'm a physics major, not a financing major so I may be mistaken. But isn't an Article of Organization simply a form you can fill out to set up an LLC? And why would you need an equity distribution agreement for a gaming team to simply pay players a salary? Equity distributions are for selling stocks...

My best guess would be this post might be jumping the gun a little bit. While possibly warranted in our time of team scamming going on I'd still error on the side of non accusation. Why?

This 'could' be all a scam

or

This could be some software guy who for better or worse threw together his own LLC and is trying to use w/e extra money he has to have a gaming team.

Reality here is this might be less of a case of scamming and more of a case of the owner slightly mis representing his exact situation in order to look more stable and 'legit'. Unless he just so happens to have a crap ton of disposable income (running a team that sends players to tournaments is massively expensive).

You're still dodging every question...

How does your sponsor listing a company of a different name have to do with your incomplete website? How do we go from CorePro Design as you claim to CoreTech Engineering that they have listed? Sponsors are always careful to list proper information.

What does your incomplete website have to do with your claim of every management figure holding a bachelor's degree in a relating field yet 2 of them are listed to having degrees in bio-sciences? We still have the issue of your "Creative Director" stealing another person's work yet using it as his own for an organization that will supposedly be owned by an LLC licensed company... Are you ok with "management" with "degrees" stealing another person's work and using it as his own?

Players said they got paid but that was it. From what I've just heard, maybe 2 people got gear and never once mentioned travel support. Sure I can go out, pick up a bunch of players and send them $100 for the first month to make it seem legitimate but again all of the inconsistencies that quite honestly have nothing to do with your incomplete website that you claim them to be still make it hard for me to believe this. You also didn't acknowledge that you've been involved in another community for quite some time and from what they claimed, you're just some rich kid who tried to invest $10,000 into a team.

You can't major in neuroscience and biomedical engineering at the same time. There isn't room in the curriculum to do an engineering double major, let alone an honors program such as neuroscience.

I think there's still a lot of explaining for you to do...

1. CorePro Design LLC is the entity. CorePro Engineering is an old name that was already taken so we had to switch. This caused a delay in the filing.

2. It was a clan since HOTS release actually (under a different name).. I don't consider an organization to be an organization until its held by a legal entity. But as a group, most of our community members have been around for months. It's only recently I made the decision with my associates to actually try to make this dream a reality.

3. Having a degree in neuroscience and biomed does not make you totally oblivious to running an account worth $10k.. buying gear and paying players.. seriously? As for the after effects introductions.. we PURCHASED a license to make those videos.. jesus christ dude. You want me to send you the licensing agreement and receipt?

4. Nano and I have exchanged extensive paperwork regarding his companies' identities, his current employment status, and his overall identity. He actually is who he says he is. Not only that, we are partnering with actual company executives who know him personally and vouched for his integrity. He holds an executive level position in two of his companies.. he does not single handedly run a company.. that is not how companies work. He is a high ranking exec in both of those companies with his value mostly derived from his equity positions. Unlike you, I have spoken and will speak to his coworkers -- because that is how you do true investigations. TL sometimes becomes a rumor mill and people tend to believe what they want to believe.. and what causes the most drama. With Nano, most of that drama is unfounded. I do admit that he does like to troll a bit though

5. All players have been paid and gear is sent on an as-requested basis. Travel to qualifying tournaments is not stated in their agreements, but it is something we will provide on a case by case basis. I do not make any promises that I cannot keep throughout the duration of a contract term.

That's it for these posts for now. The official announcement will be around September 1st We all know that nothing I can really say now will mitigate your quest for drama and 'ah-ha!' discoveries.

So, let's wait until I have all of the official documentation by the date I promised and I will make it available on the official announcement threads in the next few weeks.

Actually yes this is it 100%. Ironically, I'm trying to go the LLC route and run accounts through it to make it more legit and less like a loose collective.. This is one of those passionate side-projects that's fun to do because it's a challenge and I just enjoy making things work and seeing if we can help our players succeed in their goals. I don't want, nor do I expect, to ever reach the status of EG/TL, but just to have a stable organization that does what it says it will do is all I'm really going for here.

EDIT: All the player's contracts are fully funded and I do have the disposable income necessary to sustain those contracts without sponsors. Of course, it's always nice to have someone else chip in

1. I don't see any company with the name "CorePro Engineering"...

2. You were first the leader of a team in another game before you had this "Core Gaming" and your reputation was terrible from the information posted about you. It also says you were trying to work with the idea of players being paid for playing that game (paying players to play a fairly unknown and unorganized game? Come on)

3. You're right, having a degree in an engineering field and neuroscience wouldn't make a person oblivious to running a bank account. However that doesn't mean a legitimate entity would allow such a person to do so. I major in a physics field, I could probably run an account just as easily, but does this mean JP Morgan or any company is going to allow me to run financial accounts for them? God no. Unless you have a real background in financing/accounting, you don't fully know what you're doing. And what about your biochemistry graduate working in communications? Explain to me how 2H2 + O2 = 2H2O has anything to do with "Information Security"? And what license agreement would you need to use video co-pilot tutorials? And even if this license agreement existed, wouldn't you think the organization who used that intro 3 years ago would have gotten that agreement instead of you? Machinima is a legitimate company after all, they would have needed one if you claimed to. The problem is I don't see how you would get an agreement after another company already used it.

4. People have claimed a number of things about him, but I still refuse to believe an actual college student who is actively conducting research in nanotechnology would ever or could ever be involved with an e-sports team. From what I've looked up about the college student he claims to be, he claimed to be involved with his collegiate Starcraft team except he doesn't show up anywhere and has been caught using a program to create fake skype convo's... Why would such an upstanding individual have to do such a thing? After all he only travels out of the country quite a bit and runs two companies along with his research. Why would he need to lie about a video game?

5. It's not included in their agreements? Then why does your wiki post claim that all players will receive that?

Don't think legit teams would advertise for players on bnet forums lol

This made my day. I suppose only if they wanted balance whiners and David Kim fans would they be on the B-net.
