Perhaps someone more acquainted with the subject could explain this to me, but it's not really clear to me where the association with Fascism fits into the "White American culture is under attack" narrative of the Alt-Right. I have absolutely no opinion on the removal of the stupid statue, really. And I also do not identify with the protestors in pretty much any way. But claiming that the counter protestors were peaceful is simply very untrue, that is all. They came with bats, some wearing combat gear. Of course the horrific terror attack overshadows everything. But still, claiming that Antifa and certain other groups were peaceful is frightenly dishonest. They came for violence.
You should have an opinion on removing said statue not for what it represents but censoring history is wrong. Plus, that statue was put up in the Jim Crow era, when the south was super nice to blacks, so it can be removed and given proper context in a museum.

After the President’s bonkers press conference today where he stood by his initial “both sides” remarks about Charlottesville, Ingraham told Bill Hemmer that it really doesn’t help Trump’s agenda for him to get “sidetracked” like this.
She did defend some of what he said and his point about the “violence on both sides in that event Saturday,” but said, “He is there to calmly guide the nation through what at the moment is a very troubled time. And advance an agenda of economic empowerment, streamlining regulations, and keeping very optimistic and positive about the American spirit. When he does that, I think it’s really positive. Today I think he got caught in kind of the pundit trap.”
Krauthammer was a little taken aback by that argument:
“To critique what he did today on the grounds that it distracts from the agenda or was a tactical mistake I believe is a cop-out. What Trump did today was a moral disgrace. What he did is reverted back to where he was on Saturday, and made it very clear that what he read on… Monday, two days later, was a hostage take. Clearly reading off a prompter, saying these denunciations by name of the KKK, et cetera. That wasn’t Trump speaking. That was the aides speaking.”
Ingraham shot back by saying she resents him calling that a “cop-out,” saying, “I’m not going to pass moral judgment on whether Donald Trump is morally on the same plane as you are, Charles.”
