Another reminder that many people in this thread didn't even believe Russia tried to help Trump. Russia tried to undermine American trust in their institutions. It's very easy to show Clinton was the favorite and everything hurting her election hurt America. Russia's in it for Russia. It's still astounding to me that people I'd otherwise think are rational observers need sinister collusion conspiracies to go one step beyond the simple truth.

Care to explain why the Republicans took such a weak stance on Russian sanctions, the annexation and invasion of parts of Ukraine, and ceding Syria to Russia? Because it seems a whole lot like Russia is getting more than chaos, and would be getting even more were it not for the Democrats holding them accountable. The current administration has worked tirelessly to avoid conflict with Russian interests.

What would you need to believe team Trump directly worked with the Russian government to gain an advantage in the 2016 elections, Danglars? Did Trump Jr.'s own admission that he wanted to meet to gain "oppo research" not change your needle on this at all? With a group of people this inept, it's hard for me to believe they didn't cross a line somewhere. Or have the goalposts now moved to semantics of the definition of collusion for you?

That must be a whole new level of shitty if even Spicer can't deal with him. From all I can dig up on him, he seems to be a rich dude that defended Trump, gave the Trump camp money and has zero experience in public service or communications.

He has a stake in his own hedge fund company now, which was supposedly being sold to a chinese investor (there's some question about whether that deal will go through due to the crackdown by Chinese govt. on capital leaving the country). everyone assumed he'd be getting a high profile job in the Trump admin. since he was a big contributor. So he is an incompetent guy with conflicts of interest, but that doesn't explain why he is the guy that Spicer really couldn't deal with, the Trump admin has a lot of these people.
