It was a government fabricated lie, that convinced half of the world, including most american medias. Blaming the media for the lies of Bush administration is absurd.
Now can we NOT talk about crap conspiracies? I think i talk for most people here saying that nobody cares. If there is ever something substantial, please bring back the topic. At the moment, one of the many staffers of the DNC died, and Assange did what he does. Period. The whole thing is at pizzagate level, and frankly, we can do better with this thread.

They failed, as did most people. My point is, anyone sane would first blame Bush, second people who believed him (including the press and us).

The situations in Syria and Yemen, and the clearly biased reporting/narrative supporting by US media on US foreign policy has nothing to do with why Seth Rich is dead. The only thing the US media is at fault for with regarding for blaming the Russians in election interference is massively exaggerating the impact it had on the already widespread discontent of the American people - much like Putin exaggerated the impact that HRC had when she called for (and the US probably funded opposition media in Russia to support that) Russians to protest against Putin.

The press did what everyone else did, including the international community, namely not to suspect Bush and his goons to lie to such an extent, because it was unbelievable and unprecedented. It's not unbelievable or unprecedented, it's because mainstream corporate media almost entirely only asks former US officials who just echo state lines to come on their shows, rather than have any people who dare to express some kind of criticism or critical opposition thinking. Reporters and people who express certain criticisms against foreign policy or corporate interests are almost categorically avoided, resulting in MSM getting closer and closer to the state eye's view and further from the truth.

Clinton wanted war with Russia.I supported Trump in the sense that war with Russia seemed less likely but I was critical of his Syria strike which led to me being banned from the_donald on reddit.Personally i doubt many here would be so fast to be critical of Clinton if she had won.

Because at that point, you seem to have a very limited understanding of how the world works and what makes or doesn't make sense It may not be intentional, but there is definitely a lot of support coming from mainstream (TV) media for US foreign policy and corporate interests. And at least part of it is due to all those anonymous alphabet soup sources that they keep quoting. Another part of the plethora of (ex) US officials that are employed almost full time by the few existing US media conglomerates to propagate state-supported views. There is no denying that this is happening, and has a profound impact on the narratives that are being sold.
Or do you still think that most of the Syrian rebels are all doctors and teachers that want a fair an equal democracy? And nevermind that "the situation has changed due to mergers of the rebels factions" -- what is it that mainstream media peddled or focused on for years? Did they even mention the large groups of fundamental Islamists that have always been in great numbers amongst the anti-government factions? Or if they did, how much time/consideration was given to that part of the equation? How did they paint the whole picture of it?
And, sure, you can find articles in various US media that do mention opposition views, and then proudly exclaim "See! US media is not in line with US foreign policy/corporate interests", but these kinds of articles are often not nearly as widely circulated -- even from sources like the Washington Post and the New York Times (what do they print on the front pages, and what is found in the back?) -- and very rarely make it into the news cycle of the far wider reach of 24/7 networks.

It is nice how the Trump government basically can't function because of all the leaks to the media. I originally thought that the media opposing Trump was not necessarily decisive, because few trust them, there is the rightwing echo chamber to spin reality, and because media opposition gives a target for Trump to rally his base. And all of that might be true, but the fact all this information leaked from the administration is constantly frontpage news, and amplified on every local newspaper and television channel, so that even Fox News has to cover it and even Republicans have to comment on it, means the asministration itself can no longer communicate internally. Everyone distrusts each other, nothing gets done, they are all evaluating exit strategies and so on. There is only chaos and not that much meaningful policy is enacted. /yay

I'm not saying green space aliens killed JFK, but it sure is suspicious that the CIA won't categorically rule it out, right? I guess you believed the media when they said there were WMD's in Iraq too huh? What? Are you seriously thinking the media made that up? It was a government fabricated lie, that convinced half of the world, including most american medias. Blaming the media for the lies of Bush administration is absurd. Wait. So you're telling me the government made up some bullshit lie about WMDs in Iraq, the media reported on that without questioning it's accuracy and that was used to invade Iraq. So do you believe the government and the media now when they say Assad is using chemical weapons on his own people in Syria? Why is Syria getting so much coverage but the Saudi war in Yemen has been unheard of in MSM? Why can't you see through the ridiculous propaganda arm of the mainstream media and it's link to the deep state military industrial complex?
Much of the media, much of the intelligence-agencies (home and abroad), and many people were crying bloody murder on Iraq. Do I have to tell you which "news" channel, if any, is responsible for cheering Bush's lead-up to invasion?
What part of this is a lie? --
1) Trump fires FBI director, because of the investigations into Trump.
2) White House denies FBI director was fired over the investigations into Trump.
3) Next day, Trump confirms he did fire FBI director over the investigations into Trump.
4) Later that same day Trump invites ambassador and foreign minister from Russia into the WH, despite their being a country considered hostile to us and our allies for many reasons. Our relations were at a point that Obama would never have invited these 2 people into the WH.
5) The ambassador is, in fact, one of the people with whom Flynn lied about meeting, which led to Flynn's dismissal. Again, Trump really shouldn't have been inviting these people into the White House in the first place. http://www.newsweek.com/sergey-lavrov-russias-top-diplomat-trump-606598 Trump’s ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, dismissed for misleading the administration about his contacts with the Russian government, spoke with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and dined with Putin
6) In privacy from American media, Trump gives them, directly, intelligence given to us by Israeli sources, a country that considers Russia hostile (and extremely anti-semitic).
7) Trump jokes to the Russians, one of whom is suspected of being heavily involved in what is essentially espionage against our country, about having just fired what is perhaps our country's highest ranked law-enforcement officer, whom he calls a "nutjob".
If you're not going to directly argue any of these numbers took place, then what's the point? What are you arguing? That we should just listen to right-wing... stuff, and throw everything away that they tell us isn't true, because it's a conspiracy by the media and "deep state", whatever the fuck that is?
Because if you're not arguing any of these numbers, then I don't know why you're wasting your breath about Iraq and conspiracy nonsense. Trump fired the FBI director for self-interest, and bragged about it to the co-conspirators of the very thing he was being investigated for, as they all had a laugh in the White House. And you seem to be okay with that. I find that insulting.

This one was blown way out of proportion, I think. We got a very one-sided story from whomever leaked this. Even when McMasters gave his explanation, the headlines were all about one part of his explanation (the fact that Trump was ignorant about the source). It wasn't until I came across this Soviet propaganda video that I saw a clip of McMasters explaining some of the context of the conversation that made it all seem a lot milder than it had been portrayed by US media.

I have my subscription to the NYT, read the Economist from time to time and read the Guardian daily, and I can't complain to the quality of information I receive. And I'm well aware and have been explained for years in details what the Syrian opposition is made of, which is actually both more complicated than both gentle liberal doctors or bloodthirsty Al Qaeda maniacs.
Again and again, there is no "the media". And one is free to chose to listen to dishonest hacks or read competent journalists.

Oh so they are all lying because they want a war with Russia so that... wait... wasn't it all about pizzas in the first place? I'm so confused... Look IPN, I don't know where your understanding in the world comes from, and I have no doubt you are certain to be smarter than all of us and will disregard my advice, but here it is: stop trying to be a smart ass 7d chess player, and read a serious newspaper without applying your conspiracionist bs into it. It's really up to each of us which media he decides to read and listen to. One doesn't have to listen to propaganda garbage like Fox or bad sensationalistic stuff like CNN. Yes, and one as an individual is free to vote for non-corporate entities in elections, but that won't stop Hillary Clinton from being nominated or Macron from heading into the second round because the corporate media overwhelmingly support those corporate entities and the majority of people listen to the things peddled by said corporate media. The fact that you and I are informed doesn't make the problem not exist as a reality of the situation we find ourselves in.
The fact of the matter is that the information that is widespread often gives a very narrow point of view. In the case of US foreign policy and corporate interests this can be especially damaging to society.
