This is a large part of why Hillary lost the election. The line of thinking here is that the other way around wouldn't be true (Hillary fans refusing to vote for Bernie if he won the primary) Corruption played a big part here, that's for sure. Yeah this is huge, young voters didn't turn out for Clinton like they did for Trump.

I don't recall seeing a single person arguing that Hillary shouldn't win because she's a woman, or that they wouldn't vote for her because a woman. Not a single one. The only person who mentioned her gender was her, saying that people should vote for her so she could be the first woman president. No thx, the best PERSON for the job should get the job, not the best in a particular gender.

It's dumb, California would have the weight of half of the US if you did it by popular vote, because they have strong opinions there, meanwhile the results of say California would be meaningless. So even though Trump will likely end with 306, he will lose popular vote. That's fine, because it's only the one state of California where he's losing really hard.

Short term volatility shouldn't affect them too much. Only if this keeps up it'll be bad. The real problem is that premiums paid to retiremwnt funds have been too low for years.

With regard to the result of the election, the media has not spoken much about the impact of gender bias. I bet a fairly significant percentage of voters did not favor Hillary simply because she is a woman.

They live and die by the market. And markets will be falling, today is nothing compared to what's to come. if you think looking at a small snapshot (i.e., a few days) is in any way a reasonable way to handle investing, you have no business investing for yourself, or giving others investment advice. retirement funds should not be readjusting anything, private investors should not be readjusting anything, in light of what has happened today. to do so is folly and people will only lose money. stay the course. there is a great quote (paraphrased): there are two kind of people, those who know they cant predict the market, and those who dont know they cant predict the market. your statement that "today is nothing compared to what's to come" is completely useless. i hope no one is foolish enough to believe your doom and gloom, or worse, act on it.

You could argue felons are discriminated against but look at the job position. Except Trump has plenty of crimes under his belt.

Props to xDaunt for putting up the fight all the way, most other Trump fans just stayed out of this mess. How many Republicans in California would show up to vote for a president that stands no chance of winning a single electoral vote for their effort? Ask NY too. The popular vote disparity is heightened in big states with bigger urban centers because why bother. Ask yourself what Senatorial choices you had on the ballot the last time you voted for a Senator. California didn't even have a Republican listed to vote for. Not one. Just your choice of two Democrats.
