It's so hard not to distract people from the point.
It's not just the shootings, (which people like to counter with inane arguments like hunts did) it's the systemic denial of American citizens constitutional rights. That's a crisis tearing at our social fabric. Anyone (like ghost) who says "can you show me the statistics that say race is the prime motivator" are just taking a slightly more intellectual approach to regurgitating the same nonsense hunts was saying.
As for why I add "white people", it's quite obvious that if white people took the systemic denial of constitutional rights seriously, the police would have been reformed decades ago.
The people persisting the issue with police abusing citizens (outside of the police themselves) are white people who claim to love the constitution and want people to be armed to defend themselves. If those human shaped piles of waste actually spoke up about "law and order" when it comes to black people and other PoC enjoying their constitutional rights as well we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
The whole argument about "prove it's racism" is ass backwards, prove to me what year police stopped policing in a racist way, then we can talk about how it's gotten better/worse from there.

So Trump is an unreliable politician?
hard to be reliable when you have to represent so many competing interests. Now he's just going to say what needs to be said to increase his poll numbers. I wouldn't really put too much stock into any of it.

hard to be reliable when you have to represent so many competing interests(speaking generally of politicians). As far as trump is concerned, he's losing and has to make up for lost time. In my assessment Trump thought he could translate his primary strategy to the general and still dominate (foolishly). Now he's just going to say what needs to be said to increase his poll numbers. WASHINGTON, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Tesla Motors Inc has won U.S. antitrust approval to buy solar panel installer SolarCity Corp, the Federal Trade Commission said on Thursday.
The deal was on a listing of proposed transactions that won quick approval because the merging companies have few or no overlaps.
Tesla said in July after it made its first offer that by acquiring SolarCity the two companies would form a one-stop clean energy shop, offering consumers solar panels, home battery storage and electric cars under a single brand. The deal was announced on Aug. 1.
The share prices of both SolarCity and Tesla were up 0.2 percent on Thursday.
SolarCity has come under pressure from rivals offering low-cost solar energy through large, utility-scale installations, and because some state governments have reined in subsidies that encouraged rooftop solar.
Neither Tesla nor SolarCity immediately responded to a request for comment.

Do you put much stock into Trump as a prospective president? Because you're not exactly inspiring confidence in him right now. What immigration plan would he implement as president?
Donald Trump "seems to be morphing" into the very politician he "railed against," former primary opponent Jeb Bush said Thursday, digging into Trump's latest pivot on immigration, which political observers have noted most closely resembles the former Florida governor's own position on the issue.
“Well, I can only say that whatever his views are this morning, they might change this afternoon, and they were different than they were last night, and they'll be different tomorrow," the former governor told WABC Radio's Rita Cosby in an interview Thursday.
Bush, whose own campaign hands have expressed similar sentiments, remarked that he could not specifically comment on Trump's views because "they seem to be ever, ever changing, depending on what crowd he's in front of."
"Sounds like a typical politician, by the way, where you get in front of one crowd and say one thing, and then say something else to another crowd that may want to hear a different view," Bush continued. "All the things that Donald Trump railed against, he seems to be morphing into — it’s kind of disturbing.”
As far as whether he sees Trump coming around to his views, Bush could not say.
“I don’t know what to believe about a guy who doesn't believe in things. I mean he doesn't ... this is all a game," Bush said. "He doesn't ... his views will change based on the feedback he gets from a crowd, or, you know, what he thinks he has to do. Life is too complex. For me I couldn't do that. I have to believe what I believe, and if it’s popular, great, if it’s not, I try to get better at presenting my views. But shifting my views because, because it’s political to do it? That’s what politicians do in this country, that's what Trump is trying to do right now. I find it abhorrent.”
While acknowledged that he is "happy" Trump is reaching out to constituencies long ignored by Republicans, Bush reiterated on Trump's immigration stance, "tomorrow it might be different."

Who knows? We will just have to wait and see as with any other politician.

I expect the lead up to the debates to be the most work those people have ever put in.

When all else fails with your (outsider) candidate, just say "politicians' words don't matter. They're all equal. Nihilism ftw".

Or, you know, don't gamble and never find out as he leaves politics after losing.

This plan sounds way better for me in the long term. Not having Trump in office will do so much for my stress level alone.
I don't think anyone has ever teamed up with the media to deliver an entire prepared speech about insulting and delegitimizing the other side's voters before.
