Why cherrypick a random green power initiative that makes up a tiny portion of non medical spend and not look at the $50 billion of medical spend? You could probably renegotiate a contract for sterile disposable medical supplies or something and save 10 times the amount. I didn't "cherrypick" anything. I posted a current news article. This reaction is absurd. But we've exposed that you share my confidence in the VA if you think there are places to save 10x as much. Okay, let's break it down just on the armchair, $66 billion in discretionary medical spending. That's over 50 states plus DC and territories, we'll just say $1.3 billion per state. That solar panel money could have built a hospital. It could have built a medical school which the US desperately needs more of (to any smartposter reading this, I'm aware that's not the VA's job). It could have bought twice as many solar panels with competent contractors. It could have bought five times as many solar panels with competent contractors plus waiting a few years as panels keep improving. It could have bought a million different things before someone wrote on a piece of paper that it was going to be funneled this way. And it takes five seconds to go "it's a shame this government program messed up" rather than whinging about how I'm unfairly focusing on this when you weren't talking about any other waste to begin with. I didn't interrupt a detailed audit of the F-35. On August 10 2016 04:08 Mohdoo wrote: Waste is an intrinsic part of organizations. Have you worked for a big company? Medium sized company? It is just straight up impossible to eliminate waste. Reduce waste, keep waste down best you can, but this idea that there is some way of actually eliminating government waste is silly. Making cuts to an organization does not make it less wasteful. I never said "eliminate waste." I actually just said there isn't some way to go boom, waste is gone. What we can do is ask simple questions like why are we giving money to Veterans Affairs to save the world with solar panels when they can't even manage to do that without fucking it up. "VA has a goal to increase its renewable electricity consumption to 30% by 2025." If cuts don't help, how about budget increases? Would those not hurt?

Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks. Although the Second Amendment people maybe there is, I don't know. But I'll tell you what. That will be a horrible day, if if Hillary gets to put her judges in. Right now we're tied. You see what's going on. We're tied because Scalia this was not supposed to happen. Justice Scalia was supposed to be around for ten more years at least and this is what happens. That was a horrible thing. I'm also pretty sure that that was a bone thrown to the Scalia was assassinated crowd who simply cannot conceive of any other explanation.

You know, like every other presidential candidate. The bar is so low that he literally just needs to start talking about what he's supposed to be talking about. Well, we all want him to focus as much as possible. But it seems like there's no way to say "there we go, now he's finally pivoted." But that's the impression I think the "pivot" idea gives. There are some people who will never see it, because no matter how he campaigns, it just takes one thing, it just takes one reporter going "Mr. Trump, so-and-so refused to endorse you, do you have any comment?" and the next day there will be a headline about him Trumping all over again by attacking a fellow Republican instead of staying on message.

Also the Supreme Court can’t abolish the second amendment. But you’re right that we should really focus on that second part where he claims that Scalia wasn’t supposed to die and the Second amendment people can "do something".

Merrick Garland isn't using it anyways. Clarence Thomas can pretend to confer with the body.
