I think Ryan was probably operating under some assumptions of Trump at least being friendly. This is very much not friendly and paints a picture of Trump thinking he runs the show. Trump does not run the show. If Ryan lets Trump hold this over his head, Ryan loses his power completely. Ryan can't allow this.

I take this as Trump trying to sabotage his own campaign so that he can write a book about it and end up with an incredibly loyal post-election following. At this point this is what I'm thinking as well. He's done a ton of crazy stuff throughout his campaign, but it really seems like this last week he's thrown it into overdrive, and he's not even trying to fix his mistakes. He's just tearing everything apart.

Trump is the reason. Discussions about electability us to be front and center for both parties. But that went by the way side when the Republicans convinced themselves that Romney was going to win right up until he got curb stomped.

You all saw the fit the Bernie supporters threw even after Bernie withdrew his nomination. Imagine if he hadn't. Bernie isn't Trump. Trump truly believes he can go it alone because he doesn't understand how goverment works.. Bernie understand that he needs the democrats to accomplish anything in goverment. The Super delegates are to prevent someone like Trump, who is actively destroying their party. Not that I don't enjoy the Republicans bending over backwards trying to justify Trump while also having daily news reports of racist voter ID laws shot down. Its a good time.

Superdelegates would have been key for Republicans if the Republican race had been proportionally allocated and stayed 3-man till the bitter end. I don't think they could-or should-ever really do anything in a 1v1 race.

I don't think their success comes just from being biased; though it does help somewhat that they're exploiting a less-served category. I think it's more that they're simply better at being entertaining.

Like there always seems to be this politeness in the US where a scientist will go up on a stage and debate a creationist and it goes on for hours.. sometimes it's completely legit to call an idiot an idiot.
