Trump in Iowa on Tuesday, officials with his campaign confirmed. The endorsement provides Mr. Trump with a potentially significant boost just 13 days before the state’s caucuses.
“I’m proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for president,” Ms. Palin said in a statement provided by his campaign.
Her support is the highest-profile backing for a Republican contender so far.
“I am greatly honored to receive Sarah’s endorsement,” Mr. Trump said in a statement trumpeting Mrs. Palin’s decision. “She is a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for. I am proud to have her support.” SourceDoes this make Trump the Tea Party candidate now? bahaha. this is golden, the main reason (and liability to his campaign) mccain lost in '08 endorses trump. a match made in heaven! How did this ever become a narrative? McCain had a 0.5% chance of winning the election pre-convention, which became something like 1.5% post-convention, and proceeded back to 0.0001% (approximately equal to the chance that Obama committed a felony on the campaign trail, or had a major felony, not drugs, revealed with near 100% certainty) once the economy truly died in October 2008. Sarah Palin was never great, and had one interview that made her look pretty bad, but no one votes for VPs anyways, and she was nothing resembling the weirdo-idiot pre-election that she was post-election. Like, Palin is a goofball, but McCain never had a chance, and what little chance he had was because of her exciting-ness, and what little damage she did by being a bad interviewer was outweighed 100-fold by the bad economy. Tough sell calling Palin the reason for the ticket loss. McCain was dead and Palin restored a faint heartbeat. All this notwithstanding her speaking and joking style, and all this before post-elections antics. I don't think Trump can play solid evangelical with his record. The best voters can hope for is no antipathy towards religion.
Luckily for Trump, the gaggles of clickbait-article writing pundits and would-be pundits have so thoroughly numbed and/or immunized the voters to believing what they say about him that he could post a vine of him shitting on the Bible to his twitter feed and people would believe it was all a leftist media hoax. His antipathy is sealed in stone because he says it and that's enough for his base.

Trump is quite explicitly being his arrogant reality-TV self on the campaign trail all this time. He's hiding nothing and that's what makes his success so far so amazing.

Or put another way, I don't see how Palin could refrain from endorsing him before, but feels confident enough to do so now. What changed recently? Certainly nothing positive, to a conservative. Your seriously underestimating the amount of stupid and willful ignorance at the bottom of the Republican barrel if you think this will make anyone think twice about Trump that did not already do so before.

Even though in some ways Mormons can be seen as agents for social conservatism, it is very much an american religion that gave up on polygamy after some pressure, became an integrated church, and now is one of the laziest religions at opposing gay marriage now that it is where it is. I really don't think they compare well with Islam at all because of the lack of Islam really being associated with one country and continually adapting to that one country.
Mormonism originates in the US, but well less than half its current members live in the US now. Chile has 60% more Mormons per capita than the US. It's increasingly international, and is spread among far more nation states than Islam was at its 150 year mark.
Although, yes, at this time, it is more centralized than Islam currently is.
In regard to the other point, it allowed black involvement way later than any other large American church. My own Presbyterian denomination has had black ministers for two hundred and twenty years. Baptists even longer. Mormonism didn't allow black men full participation in the church, even as laity, until 1978. This is embarrassing by any stretch. But it's different from Islam, which has always been theoretically pro-equality, so I guess there's that.

Yeah there is no equivalence between atheism and being gay as a minister. No branch of Christianity is atheistic... plenty are quite okay with being gay. If you had anti-gay theology and gay ministers, then maybe. But lots of branches of Christianity believe (I think rightly) that the Bible has no condemnation for loving committed gay couples.

Former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin endorsed Donald Trump for president while in Iowa on Tuesday.
"You are ready to make America great again!" she told a beaming Trump.
Palin rallied supporters, telling them that he would "kick ISIS' ass" and not "apologize" for America.
"He's going rogue left and right," she said. "That's why he's doing so well."
The New York Times first reported news of the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Palin is a longtime supporter of Trump, and even backed his controversial call for a "complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the United States. Back in August, Palin raved about the businessman, praising him for "crushing it in the polls."
In July, Trump said he'd "love" having Palin work in his administration if he were elected president.

Man that family is the gift that keeps on giving. Daughter is a professional creampie catcher and hypocrite, son beats his gf and brandishes a gun, mom is obviously a mental defective. Wasn't there something about a drunken shit show with the entire clan of idiots a year or two ago?

Googling tells me that anime and manga are both Japanese cartoons/comics, or am I missing something?
Where is the racism exactly.

Wait, are you against or in favor of respecting women?

Funny thing manga / anime crowd is probably the most liberal there is. A lot of Asian / European, young, highly educated, a lot of tech sector.

No idea No idea No idea -- Maybe I need to retread when I'm not half drunk as I only see Twitter posts from two people, not three. I assumed it was something of relevance since it was posted.

He's talking about a portion of the Republican base, the alt right, who are behind Trump. Other guy is a new york daily writer and doesn't matter. There's a lot of drama within the Republican party which is fun.

Apparently Rick Wilson is a GOP establishment strategist- started under George HW Bush, trained under Lee Atwood and produced a ton of attack ads. (He was responsible some of the ads going after Obama's old pastor: "Barack Obama followed a preacher of hate.)
He hates Trump and had been flaming the Trump campaign and his supporters for some time now.
