It was only in that particular circumstance that his individual interpretation of his religion led to that policy. Getting into great detail on someone's religious views would be interesting but not as much as their general social/political/economic views (which their religious views will tend to support assuming they think at all)

An apparent belief in religious discrimination/islamaphobia being OK is a part of it, but mostly it's that I fall on the far left of the spectrum and have little in common politically speaking with any of the conservative candidates this year.

Someone like Obama comes off as not being as influenced by his religion when making decisions, the opposite can be said for many of the GOP's candidates, I agree with that, and that makes me incredibly happy (with Obama) as both an atheist and as someone who recognizes that the government is supposed to be impartial and secularist. The Republican candidates invoke God every chance they get, and it's really annoying.

EDIT: Jim Webb is only very marginally better with his desperate bid for the sympathy vote. EDIT 2: O'Malley is nervous, but his speech is a billion times better than the previous two. EDIT 3: Bernie Sanders knows how to speak ![]() EDIT 4: Hilary putting me to sleep. She doesnt have Bernie's pzaz, despite hitting many of the same issues.

I like the guy, but I can't imagine him Pres. O'Malley sounds better. Bernie is just railing issue after issue. Loving it. Hillary's intro was smooth as well. And she's handled Cooper's jabs pretty well.
