My graphics card is an nVidia GeForce GTX 670M. Instead, the hardware detector keeps saying my graphics card is a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000, which is probably the intergrated graphics card. I have Optimus which puts my GPU into standby whenever I'm not playing a game, so maybe that's screwing with the detection. I tried running the app with Starcraft running and my graphics card fully operating, but the damn beta app still doesn't detect it. I've had the same problems with SC2 not detecting my graphics card either, but that isn't a problem since I can change the settings manually.
EDIT: Should probably say that the computer I'm using is a laptop. You know those laptops that are used for Homestory Cup? That's the computer I'm using with a few tweaks to the specs.
I have a 640M and have this same problem. That said, go into your system tray and go to Nvidia Control Panel --> Manage 3D setings --> Change Auto-Select (preferred graphics processor) to high performance Nvidia Processor. That should fix it.
But my game won't recognize it. I get a weird error, this:

On a note I literally dreamed I was playing hots a few nights ago. Nice to see beta is close since I know I won't get in immediately I will figure a way in!

Haha, no kidding, but it's much easier to discount that. I already know that there are loads of people who don't know what the fuck they are talking about. But the comments about HotS balance pre-beta are more about raw stupidity rather than a lack of SC2 knowledge.

I lucked out last time in getting Beta April 1 and got myself and my cousin in. Hopefully, lightening will strike twice even if my wide-eyed naïveté is gone and I've turned into the cold-hearted bastard I thought I'd never be...

If I get into the beta that will be cool, but I will be as happy to watch high level players stream hots beta.
But I am worried about that very soon in announcment, so beta starts by the end of the year?

With 3-6 month beta frame at least, and a lot to balance my guess would be early next year.
Pro's won't be streaming the beta before all the tournaments change to the beta, simply not worth the time, training something that will most likely change.
I personally do hope the big tournaments bites the bullet and takes the chance with the beta, I'd even say the first to do it will profit a lot due to the attention it would create. That said, also need the pros on that so..

You misunderstood me, I was asking that beta would start by then, not end :D
And I don't need pros to stream it, Destiny will do (as he did during WoL beta :D)

Given how hots is rumored to release before the next season of pro league starts in late october (afaik) and the fact that they already took half a year of goms exclusive contract to fight lol in korea I could see them trying to get hots released asap, and releasing before christmas is always nice for sales, it's activision afterall.
