Tommy, just what was said.
That a SALARY was agreed upon, flight was paid etc etc.
That after the fact, more money was made than Desrow was happy with, and that desrow asked for more money after the deal was already done.
I think 1070 in total costs to MB for a weeks worth of sitting on your ass doing some training, is a good deal - desrow came home with a $500 cash in his pocket for his efforts, got to go to the East Coast of Canada all expenses paid, and got some great exposure for himself as well.

I don't know why people in this thread are wondering why MaximusBlack got on Quantic. He's a very dedicated player with a great attitude, and while not up to a professional level of play he's not SUPER far away either. Most importantly, he has a large fanbase and a popular stream, which generates much more exposure for sponsors than simply being slightly more skilled would. I think alot of people forget that the point of recruiting a player onto your team in the first place is to generate exposure for your sponsors...that's what makes any pickup justifiable, not just their skill.

When I was watching the stream I read the chipin donation thing as "Donate for Desrow and Maximus to go to MLG"... I didn't donate, because well, meh. But as far as I can see during the time, people chipping in were supposed to be donating to get them both to MLG???

I never was a fan of his in particular, but I think he has some balls coming out like this and I respect him for it.

The issue is how the "chip in" was worded. From what I understand it had both of their names on it, not just maximus. So a viewer could have donated thinking the money would go to BOTH of them. Pretty hard to tell either way.

I am not a fan of Maximus but if i got this strait.. You agreed at a price, when he earned more money you are bitching that he didn't give you more? And you even pressured him to give you more and he is the bad guy? It doesn't mater if he earned a million dollars it is not your problem or your money. And that advisers from "e-sports" that made you ask for more money is very convenient..

I think someone in the chat said desWOW lost over 250+ followers on twitch because of the MB rant? Black even said himself "HAHA well I'm going to un-sub right now!" which of course he knows his fans are going to try and copy him and thus un-sub as well.
All this is making my head hurt.
edit: fixed the quote since you somehow fucked it up.

Watching the stream though, there were times where DesRow was saying some pretty insulting things to Jeff and others as well. And more than "you suck at sc2" kind of insulting. I would have thrown him out of my house if some of those things were said to me to be honest.
I dont remember how the chip in was worded but if we resign ourselves from that fact, my understanding was that the chip in was to help cover the costs of the coaching week and possibly help with a trip to MLG once the initial costs were covered.

The relevance is that both parties knew what they were getting into. Both knew about possible Advert revenue. Both knew about the donations possibility. An amount was agreed upon, and that agreement was fullfilled.
Relevance is that instead of being a SINGLE sponsor, it was a group of individuals, each pitching in - each being their own little sponsorship of the event and players.
A contract is a contract. Business is business. If the event was a flop, and MB came out in the red, is it fair for him to ask for Desrow to offer his services for less money after the fact? No, it isnt. A deal was made, and as an investor in the project with his own money, MB came out in the black and the event was profitable.
Desrow made good money for a weeks worth of work, at no expense to himself. The deal was done in advance, and he was paid on that deal.
On the flip side, it would be like a venue asking an organiser for a certain amount for a rental agreement, and then asking for more money when the event is a massive success.
Now. If their agreement involved an even split of profits, or a contingency of some sort, then this would be a different story. But, given that desrow got a salary and all expenses paid flight and food, it makes logical sense based on FACT that there was no such a contingency in the coaching agreement.

Here's the boiled down version (read: paraphrasing MB's rant until the vod of it comes out).
-MB approached Desrow with the idea of coaching, he offered him $500, which was "more than [Desrow] was expecting" -MB paid for airfair (~$400) and food ($~80) -Coaching went alright, and Des was a good coach, and it was a good experience -Except for that (paraphrasing) Des is kind of obsessed with people better off than him -Desrow made lots of sexual jokes at MB's Fiance. Made a comment about people Gang-Banging her, and continued these comments after being asked to stop a few times -MB, after seeing how well the bootcamp was doing (as far as viewers and ads and what not) went, decided to get Desrow a gift, and bought him a "$140" microphone one morning before Desrow woke up. -Last day of the week, MB was really annoyed with Desrow, especially the Fiance comments. -Desrow got into something with LastShadow, called him names on stream, etc -MB didn't want the drama, so the three of them (MB, Desrow and LS) stayed up discussing what to do as apparantly LS was really upset and wanted to post to reddit/TL. -Everyone calmed down, Jeff deleted the entire 8 hours worth of content, both because he was bothered by the comments, and the LS drama.
After this I can't recall MB's statements well enough to feel comfortable paraphrasing them. Essentially it went as Desrow said, he went around to various 'Big Names' and sort of tried to drag MBs name in the mud (this is what I got from it).
Edit: Last statement MB made while I was typing this up (paraphrased) - Honestly if I had known that people were going to make such ridicuously large donations, I would have offered him more in the first place, or would have offered him more afterwards had the week not been so bad [in regards to the sexual jokes/drama].
