Wade was by far the best player on the court in last year's Finals. I didn't say he played better this year than last year either.

It's interesting to compare LeBron's play in this year's finals to Dirk's last year. Whose performance was better?

LeBron: 30.5p, 9.7r, 3a (this year)
Dirk: 27.7p, 8.1r, 2.5a (last year)

LeBron's a better player: let's not argue that. But who was the more influential player/had the better playoff run?

I'm leaning towards Dirk, but I'm sure I'll get howled down for that. The Mavs had one of the most incredible Playoff runs that I can remember. Dirk was so ridiculously clutch in all the games he played during that.

What's your vote?

I think your averages are off.

LeBron had 28.5, 10.2 and 7.4 in 5
Dirk Had 26.0, 9.7 and 2.0 in 6

I am going to have to go with LeBron just because Dirk was never under constant media pressure like LeBron has been ever since he joined Miami.

Dirk's performance in the actual final wasn't all that special, but his playoff run as a whole was great IIRC. Dirk did carry that team but they also played some really good team basketball to win it all. I don't want to go check the exact stats but just off the top of my head, Dirk has had much better playoff runs statistically, people just didn't notice until he won it all.

Getting Shaq like free throw attemps and playing the weak eastern conference. How far do they get if they play OKC playoff schedule? second round maybe third but not champs.

SORRY just bitter OKC let this tittle slip away, Scott Brooks pissed me off this series after out coaching POP, how do you let spo out coach you he doesn't even have to be there. A cat could have been the head coach of the Heat and they still would have won.

Indeed

To had the better finals from when they won LBJ or Dirk I would say LBJ he does to much with or without the ball. Durant needs to learn from them two gotta get them rebounds.

Oh my god none of this post is correct.

Christ I hate bitter people who just spout angry nonsense to rain on someone's parade. The Heat earned the shit out of this win and you're a sad person for diminishing it out of spite.

Really now, you're saying Erik Spoelstra is a terrible coach? I understand that you're upset because the Thunder lost but you're letting your emotions get the better of your judgement. Spo understood his players' strengths very well this series and picked the right times to play them. The role players really stepped it up (Chalmers, Battier, Miller) and Spo definitely deserves credit for managing their minutes efficiently. Not to mention the trust he put in a rookie like Norris Cole who gave them valuable minutes. You really can't blame Scott Brooks for the Thunder losing even though he did make some questionable decisions. No matter what anyone says, the outcome of the game ultimately depends on the players, not the coach.

So you are saying the Heat would have gotten past the Mavericks, Lakers, and the Spurs? The east was sad this year in the playoffs injuries all over the place.

Gz Heat. Huge step-up by the role players and crazy numbers by LBJ in the finals.

Definitely the Lakers and Mavs. If the Spurs played as sorry as they did against OKC, which isn't a stretch considering Miami is leagues better than OKC in defense, then yeah.

I mean you talk about injuries but Miami was missing Bosh for a series and a half and there's this Mike Miller guy etc etc.

The Heat just stomped the best team in the west 4-1 and you're saying they would've lost, for sure, to these teams that OKC beat? You kidding me? I know the transitive property doesn't apply, but the Heat are better than every team in the West.

when in doubt blame a team for not playing opponents they couldn't. Maybe we should say the West is weak since the first team OKC faced with a top tier defense they got rolled in 5, losing 4 straight.

Damn, you saying OKC woulda got past New York, Indiana and Boston? The west was sad this year in the playoffs healthy teams with non-elite defense all over the place.

Come on Bosh out for a series and a half and they beat Lakers or the Spurs is a joke. East was crippled, and pushed Miami close to elimination. OKC made to many mistake and were frustrated with the officating. Miami stole this

Ref's fault, not enough competition, couldn't beat a halfassed Laker's team. Yeah, you're talking out of your ass.

Like, seriously, look at Lebron's numbers these playoffs -- Averaging over 30 points and 10 boards and 5 assists. Now imagine if he got to play against the powderpuff Western conference defenses instead of the damn Celtics and Pacers.

I seriously cannot believe someone is saying this. You are talking like every stereotype of a bitter fan. You've blamed refs, scheduling, and even used the fact that OKC played worse (IE: OKC made too many mistakes) as an indictment of the Heat.

edit: I'm done. Let someone else talk some sense into you because it's 4 AM for me and I'm not gonna waste my morning convincing someone who's just making stuff up and postulating out of his rear.

You can talk all you want but really all that matters is the end result. Heat won the series 4-1. Also the Thunder will easily be contenders for the next decade or so as long as they keep the core and mature. So don't complain and wait until next year.

LBJ pretty much cemented that he is the unquestioned best player in the league right now. I was rooting for the Thunder but there's no doubt the Heat deserved to win this series.

Powder puff west 10-3 in the last 13 years. OKC was definitely frustrated by the calls, Scott Brooks choked in the finals and so did James Harden yet they still could have won. Again Heat don't get a ring if they play in the west the east has been a joke since MJ.
