Someone with more know-how should have let the OKC team know the clock situation.

We talked about experience earlier--there's a prime example of a team lacking it.

They totally gave up a two for one at the end of the half. I think they grabbed the rebound with 30 seconds left - Westbrook drove pretty urgently but no one else ran hard. At that point, Westbrook should have just put up a shot instead of dishing it out to the corner.

Scott Brooks letting his team do moronic things towards the end of games is becoming a theme. This series is really a bad coached talent-off. Which team has more raw skill despite coaching often times working against them??

Another theme is shitting on Westbrook even though Harden has performed worse post season than he has. Or how Durant is kind of bad at everything but putting the ball in the basket. Or the refs. The motherfucking refs.

They should let Jeff Van Gundy referee. NBA referees are a joke. People have been saying that for years, but I hadn't noticed until the last 2-3 years.

I don't think JVG would be as good without instant replay. They should make him a guy that hands out fines for flopping like he suggests

Not even Harden would give himself any slack for his poor play in the Finals just because he was instrumental in getting them there. It's not enough for a player of his caliber to disappear in the Finals as he has, and his impressive play leading up to the series only makes it less excusable, not more. Too many bad passes, too little production, and too many missed wide open perimeter shots. He's better than that and he knows it.

He is also very young, Miami's defense is the toughest he has faced in thoses playoffs by far and he even has had to guard Lebron 1on1 (which can only hurt his energy level on the offensive end).

If you want to blame someone on OKC for their current deficit, blame Brooks.

What does youth have to do with anything? Westbrook and Durant are also young and have performed better. Chalmers is young and outperformed him last night. Youth didn't stop him from producing in the playoffs prior to this series.

Miami's defense is definitely the toughest OKC has seen so far, but that's not an excuse to not produce. Again, Westbrook and Durant have found ways to produce, as have role players like Collison. Great offensive players, which Harden is, are supposed to find ways contribute on offense no matter what defense they face and he hasn't.

Guarding Lebron is definitely going to take a toll, but he can't disappear on offense because of it. Westbrook has been guarding Wade for most of the series, and Durant had been guarding Lebron quite a lot prior to the last game. Lebron, Wade and Bosh are all contributing on both ends of the court. This is a factor, but not an excuse for how little Harden has contributed, particularly last night.

As for Brooks, there's only so much a coach can do from the sidelines. He can't control whether the players make shots, make a correct defensive rotation/read, or make good decisions for them in the game. All he can do is put them in the best position to succeed, which he's done a decent job of. Games 2 and 3 were definitely in reach and arguably were lost due to poor FT shooting. Game 4 was also in reach, and he wasn't the one who repeatedly turned the ball over and missed wide open shots (i.e. Harden). Has he been a great coach? No. Has he outcoached Spoelstra? No. Has he done a good enough job to put his team in a position to win each game? Yes. Does any of this mean that he should get the brunt of the blame for OKC being down 3-1? In my opinion, no. Credit the Heat for playing great and look to the OKC players to step up their play like the MIA players have.

Tough defense doesnt excuse missing open shots, and as tough as it is the drives and looks hes missing/passing up are usually automatic for him. Hes hardly dipped at all this season, this where cliches like strength of character people keep talking about come into play to see if he can pick it up.

And well yeah what Cyric said about Brooks.

OKC missed a bunch of wide open threes.
Westbrook taking 19 shots inside 5 feet and only 3 foul shots(and 1, fouled on jump shot) is a joke Lebron would of had 20.

Random thought: One of the more egregious indications of inconsistent calls last night was the no-call on Chalmers barreling into Harden and knocking the ball loose, as compared to the foul called on Ibaka when he and Bosh tried to recover a loose ball and Ibaka barely came into contact with him. How do you let one go and call the other?

There was also that strange foul call on Collison on the play where Lebron was driving into Durant on a break and Collison was barely in the play and had virtually no contact with Lebron.

Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza have been traded to the Washington Wizards for Rashard Lewis and the #46 pick.
