As little as this actually offends me, reading the responses/rationale of people in this thread leads my to one conclusion. TL is full of young white kids that are either to immature to understand whats going on or people really take racism too lightly. I make gay/black/asian jokes and i dont think someone should be crucified for a private statement, but a gay/black/asian jokes (even if it is stereotype based) is much different than calling someone a fucking nigger/jew/faggot for no reason other than to demean/offend them. And when you represent the community shit like this doesn't fly. I still dont think he is racist but he has lost alot of my respect if he needs to resort to racial slurs every time he loses. It seems pretty immature. Destiny is the same for me and since i dont watch either of their streams i dont really care since i can ignore it. But he represents SC2 and EG so i do have a problem with it. TLDR: Race shit is always touchy, if you a public figure you cant EVER do it without expecting backlash so be careful. I dont think orb and destiny are racist but i dont have alot of respect for people that try to defend using racial/sexual slurs to crush someone spirits. Race jokes im ok with but calling someone a fucking (insert racial term) when your mad at them is ridiculous. Calling someone a jew for begin cheap is alot different than calling someone a piece of shit kike because your pissed at them. As long as you'r on your own, you can say almost whatever you wish and it won't be such a big deal. As soon as you associate yourself with a Sponsor/Organisation, you need to act (a lot) more professional. From that point on, it doesn't matter if you are laddering on your own free time, sunbathing, riding a bike, etc. About each and every action you take is a reflection of your personality and who you are. If you can keep multiple personalities, one in your private life, hidden from the public, and another to show for everyone else, good for you. Did not seem to work in this case though, and it seems that the 'dark' personality was "exposed". Also, it doesn't looks like this was a joke and it doesn't seems like he's sorry or something. Saying that "it's the internets" as a sort of excuse or justification, doesn't work. In the end, the Sponsor/Organisation has to decide if they want to support such behaviour or not. Respect is not earned that easy but it can be lost quite fast, as bad stuff tends to have a greater impact and is remembered for longer than nice things. | ||

You will see double standard in every aspect in this world. Why is it normal for a thug or kid to say "fuk u", but not okay for a politician or a priest to say that word? Why is it okay for people to be naked in Europe's beaches, but not in Asia's beaches? Every word in dictionary has its own standing. N or F word has negative standing, but what determines is not the word itself, but the speakers' social standing. Saying the word is not illegal, but one's social standing will be greatly affected if you say that word in front of society. A priest's social standing does not allow him to say F word, by saying F word, the priest essentially lowers his status to the likes that get used to saying or hearing F word. By allowing people to be naked on the beaches, Asian countries essentially put their culture image to the level of Western. Same case here. People like IdrA already have bad image, their social status are not the same as Sheth, WhiteRa, Grubby,... That's why he has a lot of haters, because there're many people who don't like and look down his personality status. IdrA established and placed himself a social standing where it't acceptable for him to say F word. On the other hand, Orb established himself an image as a high-class artist-y casters (from his Korean Weekly, posts in forums), so by saying N word over and over again, he broke his classy image, of course some people are gonna rage, because they feel his personality that he established himself until now is fake. That being said, life goes on. People will move on, they're gonna stop raging, but inside each person, Orb's image has changed, and for the worse. Next time he said the N word again, people will not gonna make a big deal out of it again, because that Orb is not the high-classy artisty Orb, but the white skinny used-to-say-N-word Orb. | ||
