NaNiwa not invited to Code S - Page 65

While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

For starcraft 2 to grow as an eSport, a certain amount of professionalism is needed, and we can't have people like Naniwa, no matter how good of a player he is, fooling around and throwing away games that people paid for. It absolutely does not matter that the match couldn't change the outcome of his standings in the cup. It doesn't only make him look bad and immature, but it also makes the GSL and Blizzard look bad since they've got their name on it

How was this offensive to the audience? (Sure wasn't for NesTea.)
I sure wasn't offended. In fact I've seen alot worse.

Please tell me how you know what NesTea is thinking and what his feelings are? I'd love to get in there and learn to be a better zerg!

In all, your post is extremely arrogant. Do not think for one second that you know how NesTea felt after that game...It is extremely idiotic for you to say that because you support Naniwa then NesTea should too.

NesTea practcised well into the night the night before despite it being his Birthday. He committed large amounts of practice hours to that night and obviously had a point to prove after going 0-3 in his group.. Did you not even watch the match? Didnt you see NesTea's face afterwards?

Banning Naniwa IS UNFAIR. Get over it omg.

Sounds like you're the one that needs to get over it.

Throwing a game IS UNPROFESSIONAL especially when you're a progamer.

All these people whining about not wanting to buy tickets cause Naniwa isn't going to be in Code S next season: did you feel like you got your money's worth after what he did last night?

You're an idiot. Read my other posts. I dislike Naniwa and what he did wasn't good.

But they shouldn't ban him from Code S. That's what i defend.

You want to be professional GOM? Write motherfucking clear rules.

Well you know your argument is garbage when you have to resort to name calling to defend it.

Maybe you should learn to read. He wasn't banned from GSL or Code S, his Code S seed that was GIVEN to him for GSL January was revoked.

No, he earned the Code S seed in a very explicit way, by finishing the highest out of any non-Code-S players at MLG. If that's not earning it then MMA and MC didn't earn theirs.

Not trying to intrude or anything, but that code S spot is a privilege. When did it become a right?

It became a right when MLG signed a partnership which allowed Nani to earn the spot?

He was invited. A right would be where he cannot be deprived of which, in this case, is different because, once again, he was invited to play.

I feel the response was just and necessary. There is no reasoning to do what he did. It doesn't matter if they were playing for nothing or not. This was a match GomTV went out of there way to display and provide to the audiences. Also, I am sure they provided monetary compensation for the matches which were supposed to have been played.

We as an audience were cheated out of a real match.

In GSL they play for audience! Not for themselves. Do you think in normal JOB you can say to your boss that you have bad humor and dont wanna work? NO!

Naniwa, no matter what he think, should just sit in that booth and give fight with all his heart! To respect Korean audience, NesTea, GSL stuff, online audience etc.

This match wasnt meaningless, if not for Naniwa it has meaning for audience, probably for NesTea...
This is not a playground for 3yo kinds, this is professional tournament, for professional players.
His duty as a player was to give his best in that game!

This. So much this
Naniwa needs to grow up.
ESL, IEM, Complexity, This.
Not to mention he didnt do good in code a, hed get shit on in code s, especially when he wants to probe rush and not try.

The match was meaningless. If this match was to decide who was last in the up and down groups it wouldn't have been played. The only reason GOM showed it was because NESTEA VS NANIWA DRAMA OMG VIEWER COUNTS!!!!

This thread is really rampant with racism against Swedes and Koreans. Maybe it could use one of those white disclaimer boxes on the top of each page.

Way to alienate yourself even further, Naniwa.

I bet practicing at the StarTale house is going to be fantastic for him now. We should speculate about how the Quantic Gaming and Incredible Miracle partnership probably dissolved as a result of QxG's interest in acquiring Naniwa.

I know i don't even like Naniwa but this is unprofessional from GOMTV

I think they should Rescind their decision after they realise the outrage people are going to have and putting Sen and IdrA in there is really weird because it makes the whole situation even weirder...

But, that was a very douche move... because it was nestea's birthday and stuff.. still gom has no right to ban naniwa. This is just dumb.

yeah, the enormous backlash and negative feedback from the progamers and Korean community shows that they're not offended

Its not about professionalism.
gom wants sc2 to be a show like wrestling, therefore anything ridiculous like you mentioned will be allowed.
Being honest to the competition and not playing out a useless game however gets punished, since it takes away from the entertainment/show factor of the game.

gom does not value true competition over a travesty with players faking it, so it is consequent they also allow manner mules/nexi/dancing whatever.
No matter how hot it gets, sooner or later there's a cool breeze coming in.

I am sorry to say this... but i consider it the dumbest move they could possibly do CONSIDERING the stakes of that game (witch were none) and the overall health mentality of the players.

I instead find it absolutely INSULTING and without honor to KEEP players who's morals are already down from the losses...to play a COMPLETELY USELESS GAME ...for what? to judge who the best looser of the group is?.... to show the audience who the better "group monkey" is?

I agree that should never happen..but who will tell blizzard or gom about their jawdropping stupid rules? Who will fix this issue? because this was the TRUE seed of the problem. Saying "they knew before they joined" is the exact same thing as "let's ignore and run away from the ACTUAL PROBLEM".

A fin was enough.... specially for the importance of that match (and there wasn't any). I am not defending naniwa i am not the bigest fan at all..but the what comes to my mind are these:

"Making example of even if unfair" "disrespect because it was their bad rule to start with" "running away from the actual problem, blaming others".

More and more i see the word "honor" fade away turning into "QQ decisions".

How come Coca didn't get any punishment for intentionally "matchfixing" (even if it wasn't 100%) by GOM (BUT BY HIS TEAM) and Naniwa who didn't even do it intentionally for his opponent to gain something in return..he did it out of seer frustration + being forced to play a useless game...get a punishment as big as that?

I want to see Coca get an even bigger punishment for that..WHY? Because if he doesn't get a bigger punishment (considering what i said above) i will automatically see it not only desprespectfull and with 0 honor but Racist towards foreigner players.

If GOM wants fairness in this game..let's see how fair they are...or is it the fact that naniwa's white and coca is korean?

I'm so happy that this happened. Anyone remember incident like this in BW? I think that Naniwa is trying to make some kind of bad boy image too hard now. Also meaningless game? It was game that decide 4th and 5th place in group. Also its game that decide who will be better placed Nani vs Nestea (biggest rivals?), but since no money was involved its ok to skip it? That's very rude and he deserved this punishment.

edit:62 now...

He drone rushed Nestea in a meaningless game, gg's. For that he gets kicked out of GSL because:
Warning or disqualification
- 경기중에 과격한 행동으로 상대 게이머나 관중들에게 위협을 가할 때
- During a match, a player shall not offend the opponent or audience with abusive behaviours

This "abusive" behaviour was apparently SO HORRIBLE compared to all the BM we've seen in the GSL so far. T_T

Wrong rule. There is a rule where if a player is determined to be unfit of being a progamer they can deny them participation.

Being in Code S is a privelage, not a right. It can be taken away if you do something stupid like that to GOM.

Oh shit there is an even more obscure rule? :O
I would say bring on Kespa but I guess they are already here. "Only players liked by Koreans allowed to play in GSL"

Another spanish here, so it is nothing about "national pride", is about GOM overreacting to a nonsense.

Not only should Naniwa not be banned from next season, he should be given a damn medal for highlighting just how ridiculous the tournament format was.

This isn't like the Coca situation, it isn't even like half the MLG players that don't play there consolation matchs. This is Naniwa saying hes not some court jester here to perform for your amusement hes a competitive player first.
