While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.
Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned! - Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM - Comparing people to Hitler - Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum. |

Yes the Naniwa defenders are certainly the ones that are butt hurt....
GOM has shown us how immature and childish they are and I for one is gonna vote with my wallets, no more tickets for me
Why is nearly everyone from Sweden defending him? Blind nationalism eh? Don't use that as an excuse, it's not only Swede's defending him. NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND can HONESTLY SAY "Naniwa not playing his games was professional, he acted like an adult, and I would have done the same" HE ISNT ONLY PLAYING FOR HIMSELF. Hes playing FOR sweden. FOR the foreigner scene. FOR quantic. He needs to be mature and not just give up, its VERY unprofessional, and no one should support him in doing so. He needs to be punished, this isnt even the first time this happened.
What is not worth giving up for?

First time I strongly disagree with something from the GSL, but I guess they assume that he's not going to take his matches seriously just because he didn't take a match that meant nothing seriously?
But I really don't like this move. I didn't even know they could do this x.x
He moved to Korea; obviously, he cares about winning.
He did nothing wrong. His penalty was offending his audience or other players? Seriously? Like that rule has stopped players from BMing each other in game and doing little celebrations in the past? What the hell?
This is ridiculous.

Why is nearly everyone from Sweden defending him? Blind nationalism eh? Why is everyone from Korea hating on him? Yeah. which is why he wants to remain in korea amirite? he must love all the hate he's getting there. Good comeback. Really. He is in Korea because he wants to compete with the best. Compete being the operative word here.

Dunno if I agree with this decision, all I can say is Naniwa simply shouldn't have done what he did. He could've avoided this entire mess. =/

i won't watch some hypocrites with double standards. GOM now looks a little bit more kespa... What double standard? Care to explain? people don't know what the word hypocrite or the phrase double standard actually mean evidenced by plenty of posts in this thread. I don't see any double standards at all. You can't point out the double standard either. Coca wasn't punished by gom, whereas nani was.
Coca wasn't punished by Gom because Slayers were savvy enough to act immediately to pull him from the tournament. They can't punish someone who isn't in the tournament so what do you expect?

Remove player for damaging the integrity of competition, randomly add two players to code S without qualifying. I see no hypocrisy here. there are spots that need to be filled and how they fill them is up to them. and they weren't random choices... idra is never a random choice. he brings lots of viewers with him, for example. no integrity has been damaged by them seeding foreigners. Oh come on, they are adding foreigners to keep their quota and the viewers. Otherwise it would have been a mini tournament or something. so they aren't random, like I said if they lose the games they will drop out are all tournaments done by invite damaging to the integrity of competition? no. When all the other players had to qualify through established and advertised guidelines, yes. If you start giving freebies to players because of their popularity the integrity of the competition is no more.

You can't point out the double standard either. Coca wasn't punished by gom, whereas nani was. CoCa was punished by SlayerS. Not to mention the tournament had no relation to the GSL in any way. There was no Code A spot on the line at the time. Nothing.
And that implies GOM still wouldn't have done anything if SlayerS didn't do something first.

Did you not see Nestea's twitter?

So to all the people ranting about how unprofessional Naniwa is- do you think that BM winning/taunting ceremonies like manner mules, hatches and nexuses and unit dancing (all things that Gom allows) are 'professional'?

so you guys arent buying a gsl ticket because a player who robbed you of a game u paid for will not play next season? i dont get it

Hes getting suspended for 1 season (basically a month) chill out. No. He's having his earned Code S spot removed If he wants to come back to the GSL he has to re qualify from the bottom up.

It's ok though, because the international SC2 scene have an infinite amount of awesome tournaments. which are made possible thanks to Korean players. Speak for urself 100% disagree
Believe me, Korean presence makes or breaks a tournament.

I guess the "global" part of the GOM.tv did not apply here. Really dissapointing.

One thing i know for sure, is alot of people sent emails to gom yesterday saying that he should be punished for his actions.

Guys can't you all see this is a good thing. Imagine Nani would have done a terrible 4-gate and lost. We would have nothing to whine and rage about.
In my opinion we should all send a thank you card to Naniwa for feeding the community with bait too rage about. Wouldn't everything be really boring otherwise?
THANK YOU NANIWA
