Arrest data also indicate that violent crime, especially murders, involve intraracial victim–offender relationship patterns. Is this not a fact? I just thought that you guys would get bored of reading over the 100 other ones I read and wanted to post. There is no denying blacks are less prone to violence. And I was about to answer the "lower money = more crime" posts, but the thread got closed. Some of those black families are even better off then me, so that's why I wanted to know what makes them tick.
Those statistics are really biased. If you want to use statistics at least back them up with some kind of legitimate ACADEMIC study. I can find at least 3-5 omitted variables which would significantly change the way those statistics would be represented. Those statistics are scapegoating race instead of looking at things like income level, single parent families, education level, etc. etc. etc.
Be careful of statistics, they can be so twisted and abused it is almost ridiculous to quote statistics as evidence without attempting to do any kind of careful analysis.

This thread had nothing to do with my religion or gay people though.

Also, it doesn't invite great discussion because it opens the doors to all sorts of racist comments and generalizations, which would probably just turn it into a giant ban-trap. Similar reasoning to why threads involving religion get closed most of the time.
So we should just close the thread because their are going to be some rotten apples?

What does my Christian beliefs have anything to do with this? Is it crime to not be a liberal who mocks god?

Maybe TL isn't the right place to have a discussion on how race and violence are related or not.
Edit: Do you not find it slightly inflammatory to imply that liberals are people who mock god? This is the kind of thing that gets the thread closed.

Just like this blog, two lines is hardly a decent OP. Why? I posted a study, a video, and personal experience.. that didn't sound too bad to me.
It is the basic assumption in your posts that that blacks are different (not to PC the place but african american is better). You clearly were not looking for an explanation. You chose a random stat from more than 15 years ago that doesn't prove that as a community they are somehow different. Saying "Some families are even better off then me" is anecdotal and means sweet fuck all.
You know this is a sensitive topic and yet you blatantly showed no sensitivity at all. Why should we respect your post if you don't respect the topic.

I'm moving this to website feedback because if it remains in blogs it's going to have to be closed for a reason of: "2 line OP is insufficient for a new thread"
edit: no promises it can't get locked later for another reason

Actually, after reading what exigent just dug up, I feel bad for the gay guy you work with. Just because people are different doesn't mean they should be ridiculed. It is kind of odd that you are saying that there is this liberal bias that is holding you down, while you are saying all these things about gay people and holding them down.

I think it boils down to this:
"1. THIS IS OUR HOUSE

We are not a "for profit" enterprise. We are not funded by any governments. This means we run the site the way we see fit. You're entitled to your opinion. It just happens to be one that's WILDLY in the minority and that lots of folks here (liberal bias or no) find offensive and unpleasant.

Why should we respect your post if you don't respect the topic. I honestly don't understand why this would be a sensitive topic? From what I understand blacks get everything from scholarships to housing handed to them..? Often it is either condescending, rude, misinformed, or downright insulting. I actually agreed with a few of your general concepts (really generally), but the way you have decided to voice your opinion is downright appalling. Maybe spend a little bit more time putting together effective arguments and leave the personal attacks, broad generalizations, and insulting condescending tones out of them and your threads will not be auto shut down. I agree that my posts in the gay thread were a bit out of line, but it's because I have a christian back ground and I like to voice my opinion on those type of issues. I won't be in gay threads any time soon though, because I realize I was out of line myself. Now, with my previous thread. I was seconds away from posting studies that link blacks with violence until it got closed. I really don't believe that "This thread isn't going to go anywhere" is a good response, because their actually might be a great discussion that might arise. I think that close was completely unjust imo. Ok so you come here, and bash on people who are gay, and people who are black...Yeah it really seems like you are being OVER moderated. Oh and the only threads you made were simply to ask someone to help you with homework, which you tried to hide by saying it was a universal homework thread. Seriously, based on all those crappy posts, what leads you to believe an injustice is being done? I never bashed gay people though, and I never bashed black people. There was no "bashing" in my threads. Maybe it's my tone? I'm not sure. But I definitively wasn't "bashing" anyone. so then what do you call this? "To me the kid seems to be gay because he craves attention. Just listening to his fake gay accent makes me lol. I think the kids that hit him obviously deserve a 3 day suspension for actually hitting him. They should have stuck to just making fun of him imo " "gays can be made fun of all they want as long as they have the right to be gay. wanna now why? because this is america. not pakistan or russia.ive made fun of a gay guy at work everday for the past 4 months and im not stopping anytime soon. I could honestly care less about some nancy boys feelings" seems like your bashing gay people to me. Its pretty hard to blatently lie when someone can just check your post history yo. Again. I never posted " I HATE GAY PEOPLE AND I HOPE THEY ALL DIE " on this actual website. Sure I've said some bad stuff about gay people in real life, but that has nothing to do with how I'll act on this forum.
Huh?? I just posted those quotes from TL...yes...this actual website. Also, you just fully admitted to being harsher IRL than you have been on this forum. Go figure.

Lines like this are the exact reason we I preempt these discussions.

It just happens to be one that's WILDLY in the minority and that lots of folks here (liberal bias or no) find offensive and unpleasant. Yeah, wasn't there also a box before making your account that said like I agree to these rules or something. basically, you can't just arrive here thinking you can insult gay people. It's wrong. I mean, would you enjoy if someone were to make fun of your christianity? I don't think so. treat others how you want to be treated.

Okay but talking on the forums about how you bash on gay people is just as aggravating as bashing on gay people on the forums. And another thing, why do you want to engage this community in discussion on weather or not black people are more violent. Do you honestly think that its possible for people to remain civil in such a racist topic? It seems to me like you're a troll trying to start flame wars and then trying to pass it off as general discussion.
