Machine vs Haypro eating contest? FUCK YEAH!

Huk joins EG, EG partners with Startale, and enters the GSTL, Huk stays in korea and lives in the Startale house.
If Huk joins EG the only thing that would make sense is EG partnering with a korean team or else huk would just be hindering his progress.
you heard it here 1st. (unless someone else already said this)

The more prizemoney to be made is a myth. go look at the top earners for SC2 they are al korean.

Nah, it's under korean teams, there's an international one too. I don't think it means anything personally, just thought I'd check..

yes but to win any money in Korea from prizes you have to WIN GSL, in EU and US you tend to get prizes for coming in positions other than 1st aswell

Would it be selling out if you left a job as a low level lawyer to get a higher level job at another company that pays more If HuK does leave Liquid for EG be it for money or to live in a practice house in the states then he is not selling out he is switching teams. SC2 is Huk's career if he wants to move to EG for money reasons then it is a career move not him selling out. 100% agree. God forbid a pro gaming team actually pay players a competitive salary. That must be terrible for e-sports. Not hating on TL, but seriously think about it from HuK's shoes. If I had to choose between losing some fans, and gaining a huge salary increase, I know what I would choose, and I know what 90% of the people hating on this move would choose. The only reason he's actually in Code S is because he's on TL. I understand wanting to switch for money, but if the entire announcement is that huk is switching to EG, being booted from the oGs house and moving into an apartment on his own, I doubt it will benefit his SC2 results at all. Short term monetary gains in exchange for joining a mediocre team with no korean infrastructure that, in the long term, will result in him just becoming someone with idra-like results. Why exactly is it unfair to critizise him for that? That depends on the difference in salaries. If he is gatting say 20k a year at liquid with a chance at GSL every month lets syay he always gets top 16. thats about 38k a year. If EG offers him 50 or 60k a year then it is not a short term gain it is a long term gain. That doesn't include extra stream money he would get if he moved back to NA and streamed during prime hours instead of koreans hours, the ability to play NASL, as well as many weekly online cups. Exactly. People need to stop pretending a professional gamer's career will last more than 5-10 years on average. Yeah, there are exceptions like Whitera and Boxer, but anyone but an honest-to-god bonjwa needs to strike while the iron is hot. If the difference in salary is something like 20k to 60k, then you'd be an absolute fool not to take the opportunity. There is no seen reason why huk should stop his pro gaming career after 5-10 years. Progaming has became a bit more acceptable by then, than it is now or few years ago.

Short term monetary gains in exchange for joining a mediocre team with no korean infrastructure that, in the long term, will result in him just becoming someone with idra-like results. Why exactly is it unfair to critizise him for that? He is not being criticized for the reasons you listed, but to answer your question: You're saying what "will" happen. Not what has happened. If HuK leaves the oGs-TL house and still stays in code S, will you come back and retract your words? I think it is unfair to criticize him for what "might" happen. Not to say living in the pro-house hasn't helped him, quite the contrary. But I think you have to give him the chance to succeed first before you can criticize him for failing. However, the majority of people are more upset that HuK is leaving TL, precious TL. I can appreciate the fact that this is TL's site, and people should rightfully so support TL. But the bases for the hate on HuK is purely the fact that he's leaving TL, nothing more.
I don't particularly care about TL, EG, or whatever foreigner team. I like some of them more or less because of their policies and what they are trying to do, but what I want more then anything else is an actual competitive foreigner scene.
What I care about is the foreigners that actually have the ambition to make it in Korea, to go there, and improve their game under the best circumstances possible. People like Nani, Thorzain, SaSe, Jinro, Fenix and Huk. Switching from an organisation with their priorities straight (making their players the best possible) to a team with priorities along the lines of 'causing as much controversy as possible while occasionally buying out a good player in order have some sort of a shot at tournament wins' means you go from a player I care somewhat about to a player don't see the point in following anymore.
If Huk does indeed join EG (what it looks like now) and they don't offer a similar korean infrastructure as to what oGs, he becomes another idra/sheth to me. Players with a massive potential, that choose not to apply themselves because they are more comfortable in their new situation.
Obviously all the players have the right to make that decision, and I don't hate them for it or anything, but it's just as much my right to simply not care anymore and root for the other guys that are trying.
