I doubt they'd want to remove one of their new maps right away. The april fool's patch notes made a joke like "3 new versions of Delta Quadrant added due to it's high popularity", so Blizz understands it's not a popular map. I'd be surprised to see it stay. But I predicted it'd be gone last season, too ![]() Backwater Gulch is apparently a really popular map. Presumably among the more casual set? So's TA, though, and XNC is the definitive SC2 map. Shattered Sky is just a metal clone I'm very concerned about Metal. Shakuras keeps getting dicked in and out of the map pool, so Blizz it seems was never too thrilled with it. So I imagine the maps on the pull list are DQ, Scrap Metal Shakuras Possibly with one map being spared if one of the new four has a glaring problem. We'll see.

It's interesting that it actually already have the link to the PTR 1.3.5 blog entry, but there is a error message when we try to get there, it is probably ready, but have not been "release" to public. So it will probably come soon(tm), probably thursday or friday night. Edit: this also means that the PTR won't last that long and season 3 will indeed come sooner than 5 months of season 2 ![]()

oh well thanks for update! @Ribbon Well, at least, that Blue Poster felt DQ was not a popular map. We don't know about whoever manages the maps =O I mean, the blue posters may have let them know, but the people who pick the maps and pick them might keep them in because they think they're good despite unpopularity

It would be really annoying if they were to pull metal as it is pretty much a main stay with the community. It and XNC are really the last original blizz maps left that are played on often.

Slag Pits, I have no idea how they called that a macro map. Many times I have posted, it might have been a communication error, because it looks like Slag Pits might have been designed so that 2 base (and 1 base) play would be strong, since there is no "natural" 3rd other than the gold or another spawn point's natural or main, or if it was intended to be a macro map but the design failed (close positions were too close, but close air or cross positions allowed you to take the other spawn point's natural or main, which weren't very far, but made close positions imba cus of that).

Blizzard, for whatever else they've done wrong, have had a pretty good track record overall on balance changes, so I'm glad they're taking their time.

Well, the community WAS complaining that Blizz was making balance changes too often for the game to stabilize. Ya, I can totally understand that. I just feel that there's some intangible element missing from the game that I'm hoping to find through the perfect balance tweak. (Since HOTS is still a ways away) Probably totally unreasonable, but a boy can dream.

As to the comment above, that is a good point, and though the patches are making it hard to find out the current MU metagames, the patches are helping to balance the game overall, not doing any harm at all. If slowing down the final discovery of the game is worth near optimal balance, so be it.

Well, Blizzard described it as a macro map, referencing how they liked Metalopolis but wanted to create an even more macro-y map than Metal (lol wtf? has to be a communication error, or the people writing the descriptions isn't David Kim or aren't the people who made the maps, or the people who make the maps don't know enough about the game).
