omg I remember what a huge mess that was when it first came out... here's hoping for the best. If it does work, I do have to give props to Blizzard for finally taking action to fix something and not leaving its faithful BW community out to dry. | ||

First of all, this "fix" has been out a while and it's been posted numerous times in this thread. And I can't see the date of this news on their site, but this registry file was on their FTP servers since December 02, 2010. Also, this is fix only for color issues (I think it doesn't even work for everyone), it doesn't do anything with "freezing" problems. And the funniest thing is that Blizzard is getting credit here, when they didn't even came up with this solution in the first place (source: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1054365/exclusive-directdraw-palette-isnt-actually-exclusive ). Well, the positive thing is that someone from Blizzard department actually looked for the solution on Internet and included this file in their official help and support forums, which is to say that someone there still cares about BW I guess. But all in all, this thread should be closed as it contains nothing new and is highly misleading.
