That's kinda the problem with Zerg. There is no Zerg king, no 1 Zerg that is clearly better than the others.

The listed players are probably the best Zerg players though.

And then there's posts like these (no offense bro) which make no sense in relation to the topic. This thread is about who the CURRENT zerg king is. We are not asking for a selection based off what someone MIGHT be able to do in the future.

only fanboys would rate idra that high, sorry

he hasn't accomplished anything worth noting in the past, and he's on a slump as big or bigger than nestea's right now so I don't even know where people are getting these ideas from

based off of results and all-around matchups it's definitely gotta be july, nestea, or losira, although losira has only managed a code A championship so I'd have to give nestea the edge

however, I'd have to say it's pretty empty right now since zergs really aren't doing so hot in any tournaments lately

He's added new styles and just doesn't 200/200 and attack every game. And consider the state of zerg in big tournaments as others have said. He'll show wins soon I think.

Just because he's added new styles to his stream doesn't make him the best zerg. He has yet to show these styles in tournaments. Again people are missing the point of this thread. It's asking for the current zerg king, not the future zerg king. And based off results, only Nestea,July, and Losira can really be given the top votes. But since I haven't seen enough of Losira, I'll have to hold up on him for a bit.

hmmm guess you didn't watch MLG, NASL, TSL, IPL.

He is not there with it yet but he is gradually getting out of his usual instant gg and attitude.

I think a lot of the problem with the title zerg king right now is that zerg is in a major state of flux. People, even Idra, are changing their thoughts that zerg has to be super passive and never attack to a more baneling drop, nydus use, and tier 3 style which has revolutionized the game.

As a spectator all I can say is that it is awesome to see the new style and it is much more entertaining then the sit back and macro style of the past. I salute the zergs that a pushing the change of style for sure, simply awesome.

I have not been following nasl much i admit. But I watched both mlg and tsl, and i'm not sure what kind of results you are trying to pull up here. 7th at mlg (which isn't that bad all things considered) and knocked out of the first round of tsl (given I'm not a fan of crunchers play). Idra is no doubt a great zerg, but his results have been lacking and it's silly to call him the zerg king right now.

IdrA is like pre-Super Bowl Drew Brees, if Drew Brees was a dick. The results don't line up but the raw ability is there when you see his games. Stupid mistakes costs him time and time again, but he plays the vast majority of each game better than almost every other Zerg. Or to put it this way, what he does well he does better than almost everyone else. It's fixable mistakes, rather than just macro/micro/understanding deficiencies, that keep him back.

As for the poll, I don't think there is one now.

and were these styles successful? hell no, in fact he's posting very bad results for someone rated so highly as he is

just because you add new styles doesn't make you good, or good in the future

Well I meant he is adding and/or finding new ways to kill protoss which is mainly the problem for most zergs. It won't change overnight but he is gradually becoming better with that MU.

I'd say the top 3 are Nestea, Losira and Idra. I definitely wouldn't say there is a clear number one though.

Nestea. I mean sure on a technical level I guess you could say the throne is empty but somewhere in everyone's mind Nestea is still on the throne. There just hasn't been a zerg to truly arise to really say he's been dethroned.

I know what you meant, and it's exactly my point. Where in this thread do you see a question asking who is trying to figure out zvp and is becoming more and more successful with the matchup? Your post is irrelevant. I'll say this again, this thread is asking for the current best zerg, and with the results idra have posted, it's ridiculous to call him the best, though he is pretty high up there (top 5).

That doesn't make him the best zerg though. Other zergs are figuring out protoss as well(see Losira's 12-3 record in last 15 ZvPs).

Everyone tries twice as hard to beat him, playing with the underdog mentality.
If you had to assign a Zerg king he would be it.

BUT no Zerg is really doing very well at the moment and every Zerg has weaknesses in their play. Someone needs to put all the pieces of Zerg together and then they could be the true Zerg king.

Idra does not have a 95% win ratio vs z, that's only his record against foreigners...

The best zerg based off results and play is nestea, there are many that follow closely after but to say idra is the king of zerg is laughable.

NesTea recent results like losing to Goody?
We're not talking about 3 months ago we're talking about now.
NesTea and Losira have been practicing together and with MVP and Younghwa for a long time and haven't shown anything particularly impressive recently.
You can't be a Zerg king right now when your results are declining and you aren't showing anything really impressive.

Sen's mechanics are top class. Zerg players generally have better mechanics anyway, but Sen is exceptional even among zergs.

Watch his stream and see how his unit and minimap selection are pinpoint precise. His apm is as effecient as Miniguns. If anything's cost him games, it's his decision making and general unwillingness to take quick and easy wins.

I had to vote for the empty throne, but overall I think it is Sen. He is just an overall scary player and I think he is just inches away from being the best.

Probably Nestea but haven't seen lately will have to wait till he plays his group matches.
Idra isn't far behind but gets cheesed/all-in and mainly early game which cost most of his losses.
