well in this gsl... + Show Spoiler +with mvp and mc both gone, we might very well get a zerg winner that might help us decide who is the new zerg king :D

I you could combine Dimaga and IdrA, I think you would have the perfect Zerg.
Idra is such as sturdy, consistent player, Dimaga has "the eye of the tiger".

I'd say we don't have a King atm.
All players have their major weaknesses, none of them is being super amazing =(

I would include Catz as a wild card at least, particularly after looking at the other players included as wild cards.
Also, Slush.

nestea was the best for a long time but there's no real king and there hasn't been for a while. this is basically a bonjwa thread from my perspective and there's really no zergs that are clearly better than others at the top levels. idra, morrow, nestea, losira and dimaga (imo the best zergs atm) are all really good and do well in tournaments, but they don't win big tournaments, they all have at least one bad match up and none of them are consistent against the top players of both non-zerg races. i can't really crown anyone if they don't transcend the success of their peers.
|
I wouldn't call Losira a mini Nestea, his play is much more aggressive then Nestea's passive play. From the way he's played recently, I would say he's a contender for the best Zerg in the world. He's doing things most Zerg's aren't right now, and I'm saddened to see Sen with more votes then Losira. Sen's play is really good, I think he's close with Idra in terms of skill, but his performance recently has not been top of the world, especially in the world all-stars he made some really awful mistakes against MKP. I definitely think it's a mistake to say that Zenio isn't relevant, and if you check out the results of the last FXO tourny, it shows he's better than most foreign players, I would say he's at least on Sen's level. It's just hard to compare him when he's in Code S with the best players in the world, he's certainly more relevant than Darkforce, Moonglade, or even Ret (who has looked pretty terrible lately).

but...but...Mini-Tea
Yeah I guess Zenio and Kyrix just haven't impressed anyone since they do play in such a tough league (Code S). They probably are on par with top foreigners.

I vote FXOSheth. He's a really good player.
If sAviOr and/or Jaedong played SC2, it would be one of them.
|
The title of this thread is incorrect. It should say,
"Who is currently the Zerg Queen?"
I would have to say Nestimagaidra. Also, LOL at the Destiny being court jester.
|
I'd have to say IdrA. I know he doesn't have many wins to show but his macro is simply the best i've seen out of anyone. If he could incorporate more of July zergs aggressive style in his play so he doesn't lose to cheese so much (and recently i've seen him start doing this a little) I think he could easily become one of the best players in the world.
|
Nothing wrong with BM if it's cocky because it's positive vibes and can hype you up but IdrA is nothing but negative thus fails.
"a single negative thought is what gets you hit in the face" Ray Mancini.
Yeah, like MC's "BM" which he says is (in my own words) "for fun". And that's why it's hard to tolerate Idra =.= We can believe he is just trolling everyone for the sake of eSports though. xD

Six pages and no mention of Fruit Dealer who has accomplished more than anyone not called Nestea in SC2.
|
Wait, so how are people justifying Idra over Nestea?
Nevermind. It appears this is actually a "Who is your favorite zerg player?" thread.
|
its definitely SEn. hes been raping face on the KR server. and has tons of excellent tourney results =]

The best zerg is.... SPANISHIWA.
In all seriousness, as awesome as Spanishiwa is, I don't think anyone deserves the title of best zerg.
But yeah, Spanishiwa, because he's trying out new shit instead of QQ'ing all over the place.
Also, Mondragon is a freaking beast, if he made infestors, the world would never be the same.

In my oppinion, there is no "king". There's no figure that is the unshakable rock for solid zerg play.
I wouldn't say Nestea is the current "king" at all, he's certainly solid, but he's not really showing us the consistant results. In my personal oppinon, IdrA is nestea's equal in skill in most regaurds, falling short in some catagories and beating him in others. Many people will say that Nestea is the best simply because he's in Korea in Code S, but I don't think that's accurate. Perhaps the GSL is a little bit higher level than the biggest foreigner tournaments, but not by much. The top foreign players are absolutely capable of destroying a GSL champion.
However, I'd say that until zergs discover a way to beat protoss consitantly, we'll never have a "king". I think once that discovery is made, however, IdrA will be the strongest zerg player. Once IdrA's mentality problems versus protoss are gone, I think all that's left is an extremely strong player with some of (if not the) best mechanics in the world and a tenacious appetite for winning. SEn and Nestea will also be extremely scary, of course. However, I feel the other huge name after Zergs discover how to deal with protoss is going to be Ret. That guy is gosu, and I honestly think he's right up there in skill with these huge names. Also, Haypro, I don't know how he wasn't included.
+ Show Spoiler +Mondragon hasn't shown his ZvT and ZvP off in tournements thus far, but man, he's awesome. He played so well versus crucher and in my mind just outplayed him, but didn't make that one right decision in the end to finish him off and died to colossus void/ray. I don't think anyone's showed me a ZvP that was as good looking or exciting as Mondragon in the TSL
Machine deserves a mention as well. He's fantastic, and as someone who lives with IdrA and trains with him on a daily basis, his already awesome play is going to get even better.
Sheth I feel beyond the players I've already named is going to be the next big name in Zerg. He's already so good, but as he gets better, I think he's going to rise up to the level of some of these huge names.
Also, he's definitely not there yet, but ViBE is really good, and he is going to be doing very well soon, in my opinion.

Most likely LosirA, that guy seems confident against Protoss, he even said he wanted to pick a Protoss player in the group picking stages (he didn't get the chance since he was picked as 4th place in one group). That guy seems to know something others don't.
His game against Genius was so fun to watch. Unlucky for him Genius probably played the best game of Sc2 I've ever seen him play, crazy stalker splits <_>
My favorite is Mondragon, crazy roach aggression as the answer to anything Protoss does is fun to watch Too bad he supported them with mutaliks and Hydras instead of infestors in his game against Cruncher
Sheth I feel beyond the players I've already named is going to be the next big name in Zerg. He's already so good, but as he gets better, I think he's going to rise up to the level of some of these huge names.
His control groups aren't very good, he has like 2 hotkeys for his army which are like 5/6,if you watch his stream he tends to move infestors into the middle of the fight an get them killed. This is not a good thing since ZvP is starting to lean heavily on Infestor-Roach/Ling-BanelingDrops and army control actually matters since you no longer 1-a Roach/Hydra and hope for the best. His games against Axslav you could see it really hurting him in engagements, losing nearly every infestor every fight :/
Generally when you are set up poorly to handle something like that, you have to change how you play, changing hotkeys, getting use to multiple unit groups, etc and when that happens you tend to get worse before you get better.

Its gotta be Nestea/Losira/July. I would say July based on recent results. He's on the rise while Nestea seems to be slumping.
|
You can't say "IdrA if he changes his attitude". It's doesn't work that way. That's like saying "Machine if he gets better at playing".
