Here's an interesting point I haven't heard yet in this thread: All of the zerg players being discussed are known quantities, we have seen them play multiple times and know their "style" Are there any true up and coming zergs in Korea?
An example from a different race would be St_Bomber Before most people saw him play, they heard how damn amazing he was. Before he even qualified for gsl there were rumblings that he was the best terran in Korea.
Essentially what I am asking is: Is there a St_Bomber type player for zerg?

There are 2 likely ones, but the first one has failed to explode, and the second one hasn't acquired as much notoriety:
-NewDawn (YuGiOh IIRC): Always been very good, but he's failed to really show his skill, he could be a great zerg in the upcoming months. -Slayers_Min: Best zerg promise for now, unluckily he got MVP on ro16 Code A, so he's VERY unlikely to progress to Code S. Too bad really, he's good and very fun to watch

The throne is empty because Nestea isnt performing well. Idra is too weak in zvz and zvp. His mentality is also very bad. JulyZerg is probably the best right now, his zvp and zvt is very good compared to the other top zergs. Havent seen much of his zvz though. Great performance in GSL and GSTL. Losira has a good chance to be top3 pretty soon. He looks very solid.

i really dont feel there is a zerg king atm, but yes i am a huge idrA fanboy not based on results just based on the fact that he basically showed me and many other zergs how to play this game when we first started
also, wtf idrA bad in ZvZ???? hes like 86% win-rate whatchutalkinbout, if you watch his stream he just outclasses players like FXOsheth/dimaga/etc in ZvZs

DongRaeGu is the first player that comes to mind when you say this. A lot of hype, but hasn't delivered in any top tournaments, and keeps getting eliminated from Code A qualifiers.

Lol, feel the bias of JulyZerg x) And Idra's ZvZ is too weak ?... I guess you aren't following Idra's record against Zergs.

Does anybody look at anything before posting in this thread? lol

Yeah according to stats. Idra is awesome at zvz in tournaments OUTSIDE of korea.... thats awesome....but IN Korea....he got destroyed in zvz sry..in GSL and Ladder.

most of his wins are against not top zergs, and he lost to dimaga on eu ladder (im not saying it matters) but your point of view is very closed (as u mentioned, fanboy). has yet to see him winning versus top tier zerg in tourney ... last time we saw him facing decent zvzer was gsl 2 or 3 (zenio)

Hard to say..
Idra/July/Nestea
July is very agressive player. Idra is master of macro games. Nesta is Nestea, macro/agressive player.

That's like saying if catz is the catz of zerg. Zergking is Sen, the king of zerg is still in contention.

As i recall idra's zvz got pretty damn good some time during/after GSL 3, and i don't think he faced any in the GSL before he left.

There isn't yet a Zerg who really transcends the rest. There's no Zerg king but more a Zerg oligarchy within which one may temporarily emerge as the apparent leader before being ousted in a coup.

He played Check on 1-11-2011 on Jungle Basin and won convincingly. The other two games he played were in that Zenio series in October.

Wow I'm a bit surprised IdrA is even with Nestea in votes, I would have put him solidly in the 2nd tier personally, well behind Nestea and July.
IdrA hasn't had any impressive results in a long time and that MLG win was the day after the roach buff when no one had learned how to deal with range 4 roaches so I don't get how anyone could compare it to a GSL title.
I have high hopes for Losira to claim the throne, I love his play.
Also I'm a big fan of SlayersMin so hopefully in the next 2-3 months he can prove himself

I personally think that July, just like in BW, can't ever be called the zerg king, because its a style that only works for him. Sometimes it will be hugely successful, sometimes it will be epic fail. Regardless, it is not true "zerg king" play.
I think Losira might be the next king, but as for now we are still waiting for the saviOr or the Jaedong of SC2 One who completely changes the metagame of zerg. When that day comes, we will know the true zerg king.

NesTea has not had any impressive results in the last 3 months either, and the GSL he took was far easier than the recent ones.
IdrA plays in more tourneys than NesTea as well, and regardless if you think koreans are better than everyone, NA and EU tourneys are still extremely difficult with players like Kiwikaki and Naniwa and SeleCT, etc.
July and Losira is the only zerg, in the last few months, that has had any special results.

Idra didn't use roaches at all until the finals. Duh?
