Here's an interesting point I haven't heard yet in this thread:
All of the zerg players being discussed are known quantities, we have seen them play multiple times and know their "style"
Are there any true up and coming zergs in Korea?

An example from a different race would be St_Bomber
Before most people saw him play, they heard how damn amazing he was. Before he even qualified for gsl there were rumblings that he was the best terran in Korea.

Essentially what I am asking is:
Is there a St_Bomber type player for zerg?

The throne is empty, but there is a secret prince who is bound to inherit it one day, sooner than you think: LeenockFOu. An incredible streak of bad luck, plus inexperience, has seen him fall out of the GSL lately, but those who have seen his games should recognize his true potential.

Idra fanboyism in this thread is out of control. Even Sen is better than Idra right now. Any code S korean is better. Idra has an impresive skill overshadowed by his weak winning mentality (for a pro player). See MC vs Idra at Dreamhack.

Its gotta be Nestea based on results, you cant really deny that

But that is where the comparison ends. Kobe is a true competitor. Again and again he has willed himself to the top of the Basketball world. Idra's play has always been impressive yet his results have been lackluster. He also has a penchant to complain and pout when he views the odds to be stacked against him. Many were disappointed when it appeared that Idra gave up against TLO at MLG Dallas and against oGsMC at the Dreamhack invitational. Champions do not give up. Idra has the talent to become our Zerg King, but unless he changes his heart he will just be another Lebron James.

Fruitdealer - GSL Open Season 1 Champion. Has performed poorly since.

This irks me when people say things like this.

1. Talking about imbalances and making complaints does not mean you win or more less. Not whining doesn't make a person any more of a game winner, it just makes them less controversial.
If Idra changed his heart (without balance changes, which would be the only thing to do so), it wouldn't make him any better of a player — I think it's ridiculous when people say stuff like that.

2. Fruitdealer never performed too great — I wouldn't say he performed poorly, or that is is now poorly player, it's just that he got lucky when he won the GSL. Tournaments have a big luck factor, and it really helped him out. Sure he's fantastic compared to an average competitive gamer, but he has never performed well compared to great players.

People talk about things so black-and-white. I hear people say other things than the two I mentioned here like "zergs think PvZ is imbal cause of July vs MVP". Sure July vs MVP was a good example of imbalance, but that game was just one in a thousand of competent players playing and the zerg getting bamboozled by a combination of factors (such as protoss versatility, zerg scouting weakness, and forcefield's power)

The fact is people can't just look at one or two games. If zerg wins a game going mass queen, you can't say mass queen is the answer to everything, it's s ridiculous. When a terran wins a tournament it doesn't mean terran is imbalanced, tournaments are a factor of luck, and skill, and then balance. When you want to see balance you need to look at large statistics, many games, and lots of theory and professional player discussions, and it can sometimes be hard to find the right numbers which indicate the proper conclusions.

You don't know what you're talking about. Pro athletes spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on psychologists to get their minds right, a winners mindset. You think they are just throwing that money away? The mind is most powerful tool we have and getting it right and positive separates winners from losers.

You can't use good players for SC: BW when they havn't performed as well as others in SC2. Even day9 said that SC: BW zerg and SC2 zerg are completely different in one of the state of the game podcasts. Players like Nestea or July can't really be up there because they were Code S or won a GSL in brood war.

I'm sorry, did some other Zerg place higher than Idra at Dreamhack?

S code Korean Zergs have had mediocre to poor showings at GSL so far. + Show Spoiler +
I think Losira has had the best showing so far and his wins came from Kyrix 8 pooling him two times in a row.
Nothing I've seen puts these players clearly above Idra.

Idra is not the current king of Zerg, but he's still one of the top players. Unfortunately, there's pretty much a log jam at the top of Zerg because no one has been able to distance themselves from the pack.

Without addressing the rest of the content of your post, the only korean zergs who are doing well are july and nestea and even they haven't been very solid recently and I'm still not sold on July. Losira has only played a few code S matches so far and wasn't overly impressive. Sen hasn't won anything in SC2, ever and only qualified once to GSL. When idra left code S, he had the most consistent results of all zergs except Nestea.

idra's results haven't been the best recently, Nestea has been on a slump too + Show Spoiler +
tho he beat Jinro today grrr!
Losira has been posting positive but against potentially lower opponents. July has probably been the top Zerg recently but it remains to be seen if he can keep it up. I'd say Nestea is top with July second... after that it's anyone's guess. but then there is no-one straight up dominating but then there isn't for any of the races.

MVP you could say is.. but he's been Code A'ed
and MC just got dumped into the Up/downs.

IdrA plays the game the smartest at the moment in my opinion. Nestea is a great player and has good understanding of the game, but I don't get the special feeling I get when I watch IdrA play. No doubt Nestea is awesome, but IdrA is my hero :D

I think NesTea is probably still the best, but I don't think he's far enough ahead or dominant enough to call him the king.

I don't think there are any zergs that are distinguished at the top. I like how the poll reflects that, but seeing Nestea under IdrA made me vote for Nestea

I can't believe that Idra is above Nestea right now, like he's good, in fact he's amazing but I think Nestea is clearly the best Zerg in the world and Idra has yet to show that he's similar to Nestea much less better.

First, I have not been following as closely as I should of, but I think based on his recent performances in TSL and GSL, Nestea is definitely not Jaedong(king of zerg, that is). He gave Goody little trouble in ro32 of TSL. Looking at Idra, although he is always so consistent, I feel like he cant finish(who is cruncHer?:p). Comparatively, Sen made it to ro16, losing to Boxer 3-2 in 5 very very close matches, i wouldn't say these matches "highlights" his poor zvt record. Sen made it to ro32 of GSL3 also in his first try. If we are looking at recent performances, I think July has been doing well lately, why wasnt he invited to TSL? He is so clutch too(beating Sen i think?) in the GSL World.
Right now the throne is probably July's followed by maybe Sen, Nestea has been bleh along with fruitdealer.
