I decided to change a lot of stuff in Sniperz ProMod(also changed name) mostly visual but i want more suggestions i still have lot to do and to fix i also wanted better terrain etc..
for those that dont know its a CTF map based on the Snipers maps for sc1.
its released in EU & US with the name Snipers Promod its still on testing but all help is welcome

a smoke grenade - that would leave smoke like the zeratul blink and would slowdown ppl in it a flash grenade - that would reduce the vision of the players it hit and a trap mine - that would stun the person who activates it for a bit

i fixed all the bugs and updated the map the most recent version is only in the arcade beta was glad going there now and seeing the map in top 10 most played xD kinda surprised me cause its the kind of map that you kinda hate it or love it.
Hey man I just tried out the game and gotta say...its AMAZING.
I love it so much that I tracked down your thread here to post some suggestions (something I never do) 1) allow first team to get 3 wins --> end the game just one match feels too short to satisfy my killing appetite
2) camera moves slow...and vision is less when you go down the map 3) if you can replace sniper attack with raynor's laser attack (penetration round I think) that would be SO EPIC
Great game! Major complaint from the reviews (which I share) is that teamkilling needs penalties to prevent trolls from ruining the game experience. Also, I personally feel drones are too good for their cost (duration/range). Keep up the great work!
I think the game is really cool, even though really hard when played 1st time ^^. But there are some flaws that I think need to be addressed.
The rules need to be more clear - how many flags u need to capture in order to win? how does a snipe vs snipe gets decided? (when both see each other beyond the range of the snipe and both press snipe at the same time), took me some time to find that pressing z lets me control my camera, until then it was really annoying. Also energy regen is quite unclear and cloak it self i can't really understand so well, I think it should be 1 sec of cloak for every 1 energy point.

Basically u control a ghost and need to snipe just like in a normal melee game and why i think its bad is because everybody is capable of A clicking someone so the game is almost decided for the 1st person who die/ the one who has a better connection. I find Bounty Hunters by Tenshi way way better, u need to aim in the general direction but have blink, a stun a shield, ffa sudden death flag, a lot of cool maps, i played it with my friends a lot of times and it was as much fun as warlock ... But well arcade came too late, it seems to me like the vampirism- island defense thing where an inferior mod was more popular than the other one.

I dont like, i dont play its just that im surprised people in TL play this mod even though there are better and more deserving ones... And to make it more fun i think u must change the way the attack works because now the mod is just u have vision u win u killed me first u win the game

there are ways to have advantage you have to play smart but its ok to have your opinion

think then i would have Snipers Promod with projectiles and have Snipers Promod Classic with A-Click
I really like the game since i found it back in beta, but it of course has it goods and bads. The dialog/ui is create but as already said the a click is too basic and actually flawed (i remember a test where they found from the games root coding that if two players target each other at the same time, one specific player (i think its the newest) is quaranteed the kill no matter what). I might suggest how rooftop does it which uses the campaign raynor snipe that you actually have to time as it doesn't fire right away as well and can shoot farther than expected. I think this change alone would make it way better.
I love you idea for the smoke bomb and i would look to the hide'nseek concept map on mapster. For addition secondary weapons i think it would be fair to ask that the mine actually 1 hit or half total damage as the stun is rather useless (you would also want to make it do you can't place mines right close to one another like sb does it.) Then for the flashbang have that as an aoe stun which would be really useful for taking out bunch groups so you can stun and have time to possibly kill more than one player in the stunned time length.
There really needs to be a system in place for teamkills and it really kills the game; i know its already setup to minus pts but it should do more like after 2 teamkills it kicks the player and bans them for week (I mean 1 or 2 can be a mistake)

I made a "new " version , called "Snipers Legend" . I redid the terrain to make it look like a city , with doodads and statues , 2 new skills ( cloak for the ghost , the shield for the spectrum , blink for nova , and a grenade for tosh .) and a lot of new icons !

I still don't see the reason to have the ability to teamkill at all. Its impossible to do it by accident. I have it disabled on NA right now simply because the rating was falling daily and Pubs were nearly impossible to play due to the countless trolls.

They found it by chance through extended testing and it only affects instant abilities. Attacks, such as those caused by issuing the attack command, are not affected.

My god. Why would you remove all the grass and make the map 'bald'? This was my favorite UMS map and now it is totally unplayable. It looks awful (even the mini-map looks bizarre), it lacks all atmosphere now whereas before it had a great dank feel, and it makes the game a lot less fun. There are no more out of the corner of your eye movements against the grass to spot a sniper...he's just there.. in the dirt... or against the flat steel. I have all these horrible memories of the entire human population being mind wiped into liking the 'bald' version of Snipers from Brood War, which had no trees and no obstacles, and that's what this reminds me of. Why? Why?

Anything is better than dirt and steel. That seems to have the vegetation back, and the pool is acceptable. Makes me think of Predator running through water while cloaked.

There's a bug with the weapon, you must target air units, but everything in the game is ground, so you can't kill anyone. It's also impossible to bring the flag back home. In short, the game has become unplayable.

I might be one of the few people who actually liked the way it was before locks lol -- over the course of a game the more skillful would still win (there were advantageous angles you could vie for; teamwork owned noob-locking), but it was sometimes okay if you misclicked (granted mice sucked ass back then lol). Typing wasn't a death sentence, so you could sometimes find some casual games which could be relaxing - locks is always intense and extra disappointing when you die.
I didn't mind playing Bald in BW. But BW also had a lingering vision mechanic which was awesome to set up traps with. I guess the mines, vision-things, and decoys make up for this though.
Are unit status bars (the secondary hp/mana bar above a unit's model in the game field) disabled - to hide Ghosts that are hiding under trees? It definitely makes sense to give advantage for hiding under a tree, I just feel like it's a tad strong in some areas where there's a bunch of trees lined up in the next frame that you're moving into. It it extremely effective at preventing movement...
And on that note it generally just feels too difficult to take an enemy flag - I'm almost never in a situation where both teams have the flag. Perhaps this is a little more realistic than it was in BW, but maybe for un-fun reasons - not that standing around is really all that fun to begin with (partially why Bald was so popular I think).

Confirmed, newest unit killing oldest 100% of the time is well-documented:
However, this only applies to units that begin attacking from out of range. Since you don't automatically begin attacking even when you are in range, a lot of the time the two units are definitely within range of each other when firing commences. Most people still not using z to unlock their camera prbly has something to do with it too, as well as units no longer holding a lock when the target disappears into fog (like they did in BW). Also most people will hit their shield or invisibility on engage which prbly often nullifies this max-range new-unit-always-wins thing.
I do like the campaign raynor snipe thing, that sounds completely interesting from a gameplay perspective. However, part of the allure of this game is nostalgia - if you change the attacking system I fear you risk upsetting some core fans.
awesome post i 100% agree with you today i tried to put projectiles instead of old way and lot of people complained so i changed it back after like 30 mins lol.. and ye the bars are disabed so you can hide im almost sure lol i loved all snipers maps and also the sniper paintball ones and stuff in BW played them all day thats why i made this map xP

-Bring back the game to the old concept , more skill , less gimmick stuff ! Only basic unit and pdd. - Why dont you use GhostNova91's Umojan Ghost & Shadoguard ? Should look beautiful ...
Hi IeZaeL, the map is still being worked on, but currently we're working heavily on a new Uber Arena HOTS. The terrain has got updated alot since that showcase.
- Did you mean less cloak, shield and that kind of stuff? Or referring more to the items. - We might use those models, is a matter of coming up with cool classes with their own abilities.
The pdd/drone is pretty imba, we was considering moving it to a a classes secondary ability. Any other questions?

Another thing is that using 20 energy to get 1 credit for all of your teammates isn't worth it. Probably should adjust the number?

It's difficult to balance that ability, as if it's too good ppl will keep casting it. Maybe 5 credits shared between the team?

Good news map has been updated at long last AND it will be re-featured by Blizzard tomorrow. Added to the started Edition again, so potentially there will be alot of players again.

Recently , some friends complained about the latest changes made. They said the mod became really shitty , with all those gimmick stuff like blink , mines. Can you upload a - Classic version with only the Snipe & Cloak ability ? I'm sure oldest fans would apreciate.
