Bronze -> Diamond 1400pt = bad Diamond 1400pt+ = good It just seems that you can be gold, or plat or diamond 1k pt and you will still be horrible so I just separate in those 2 "leagues". Ofc there are exceptions though. | ||

Now I have inspiration to play ;p as lame as that sounds. | ||

.........In diamond, you would have bronze-diamond silver-diamond gold-diamond, plat-diamond, and then the true diamond-diamond. .....I want to be back in platinum and pwn newbie all day long but too bad I can't T.T | ||

On the current subject: I play random in platinum, and I think many of the players in low diamond and worse are somewhat thrown off by the fact they don't know my race. However, against proper diamond players I get owned pretty hard at time -> the system seems to work fine. | ||

I'd say people sub Diamond just lack the basics. You get into diamond once you can scout, build workers, micro a tiny bit and keep your macro decently going to keep up with your income. You don't even need very good expansion timing to get into diamond. I had never played an RTS before but I understood what the idea was behind it. | ||

It's always funny how people with theorycraft for hours and find new strategies, when they're still in gold/bronze. Because at those levels, it doesnt matter, at all. Then again, diamond players are still pretty bad. It will be a few years before anyone will actually be good at the game (non pros). 1800 diamond still means you make a ton of mistakes, and probably get supply blocked alot. But there is still a big jump from platinum to diamond. Bronze players are really really bad, and probably never play the game. silver - platinum players are pretty similar, i can rarely tell them apart. | ||

My experience was that some platinum players can give you a great run for your money and sometimes decisively beat you, and some diamond players are dissapointingly sloppish  So i dont give a lot of meaning to the fact if someone is in diamond or plat, but i still like the league system because i feel that im competing with people around and above my skill level which allows me to improve myself | ||

Ive gone from zerg to protoss to zerg to terran to protoss to terran to zerg to terran. Ill try to to change again before diamond lol I dont feel like platium players are far behind the low ranks of diamond, theres not much difference (ive played a few). Btw this is my 1st post on these forums, which seem pretty cool. No trolling or spamming at all | ||

And to those who say only diamond players have "even basic understanding of the game", I say that you can make the jump from plat to diamond purely with better mechanics. | ||

Then you finally hit Diamond, give yourself a good pat on the back and laugh as you realize how awful you were back when you were in Silver/Gold/Platinum. But only after playing games in Diamond do you realize how awful you still are. The difference between a high Diamond player and a mid Diamond player seems as clear as day, the difference in the disparity of fundamentals and knowledge between you and your opponent isn't nearly as significant as it was at the lower rating/leagues and why he is winning is because he is actually outplaying you, not because you don't know what a good build order is. Getting to Diamond/Plat is like climbing a mountain and seeing that you are near the top. You are pretty happy with your self that you've made it this far and it feels like an accomplishment, but then the next day the fog clears revealing the mountain is three times as big as you thought it was and becomes increasingly harder to climb the further you go up. | ||
