Perhaps among the illiterate and criminally stupid. Only one out of every 11380 Marions are men. By that metric, "Marion" is three times more of a girl's name as "Andrea", 1.5 times more a girl's name than "Lucy" or "Amy", and twice as girly as "Jennifer". So yeah, you can keep your "gender neutral" noise... "Yeah, that's easy for you to say, you're Mr. White. You have a cool-sounding name.
