however, the australian senate, right now, is such that neither of the major two parties have control. the two major parties are the coalition, and labor. to have a majority, labor needs all of its party votes, plus every non-coalition senator. this means that the independent (i.e. not in a major party) senators have a lot of sway over the labor party. so obviously theyre going to use that sway. steve fielding is the only member of the (small) family first party in the entire house of representatives/senate, and a lot of people dont like family first because they have relatively extreme views (i think with their name you can kind of guess what policies they support). the internet filter was his idea and he used his influence to push it when most people dont really care a whole lot. so... i hope that explains to you guys why this filter is there  | ||
