I call a big slump on Jaedong. He needed three games to win, if he was playing to his fullest he could have made it in two.

While of course its still impressive, i think doing it in this current generation is much more impressive because the overall skill level is so much higher.

I have the opposite opinion. Jaedong is guided by games of all his predecessors. Boxer wasn't. He achieved this only by himself, nobody guided him.

The thing is, back then there was no competition whatsoever in comparsion.

I can't agrree.
What do you mean by 'there was no competition in comparison'? Do you mean that Boxer was so powerful that nobody could compete him? If so, this only proofs his dominance over other players.

Hence, I would restate your phrase as 'Back then there was no player who could compete Boxer'.

Everyone was bad back then, Boxer was less bad

Everybody is really good right now, Jaedong is better

Anyway, I, like a lot of others, am glad I didn't stay up to watch this. Still, good shit JD

The way I see it, before we had boxer at (arbitrary measure of skill) 100 and everyone else at 50. Now we have Jaedong at 250 and everyone else at 200. So maybe Jaedong is still as far ahead of everyone else as boxer was, but because the baseline is higher he's only 25% better whereas boxer was 100% better.

250 is 20% more than 200.

On top of everything else, Jaedong is finally back over Flash for #1 overall win rate. He had dropped a couple tenths below before that.

LOL why would you even say something like this? It's a minor mistake. Except it isn't even a mistake. 20% of 200 is 40, 200 + 40 = 240. He got it right.

LOL, didn't even need to drop the first set. Gotta savior this moment for next season when kespa decides to make a map pool consisting purely of island maps, maps with out gas at the natural and a special map that consists of a main, a nat, and a long tunnel connecting the two being the only passable terrain

Maps were very fair this season.

Why the heck is everyone complaining about maps favoring zerg?

I wanted Jaedong to win, but I would've liked the games to last a little longer since I stayed up to watch them

A single map can't explain why zerg are dominating the scene right now.

Well, Calm was doing good before this season, Effort is effort, he's good regardless and JD's the same. The maps are slightly favored for zerg, but all the protosses beside Bisu started to slump overall, way more than the maps should cause.

This OSL run was much less suspense than the last one, for Jaedong never faced an elimination game this time around compared to the 6 he faced the last time.
