It's impossible for a zerg to break defense that tight when there's an MnM force on the map. Like I said, turtling and pushing aren't mutually exclusive in a game. By the time Jaedong had higher tech units, there's absolutely no way to break that force. If you noticed, Jaedong completely dismantled Fantasy's in-the-field MnM force several times, but not once could he come close to breaking into Fantasy's nat because of the rock solid defense. Fantasy played incredibly smart, even if his SK is a little sloppy. Playing smart sometimes means having 5 tanks and a control group of mnm + 1~3 vessels at your nat entrance, go figure. Jesus I'm not even insulting Fantasy -- I'm complimenting his wits, and yet you guys still somehow take offense. Hell I even predicted this would happen (Fantasy opening with a prepared build to snipe Jaedong in a close call), I'm totally with the Fantasy crowd here. =\ You're obviously using the term "turtling" incorrectly here. Keep defenses at home is not turtling at all. What if I have horrible multi-task, I suck at re-hotkeying my army, and I forget about my army back at home? That'll leave me with a ton of units back at home. Does that mean I'm turtling? Turtling = playing defensively Turtling =/= leaving units at home You could argue that the putting of tanks at his natural was turtling but come on, you can't just ignore the fact that Fantasy was not only harassing JD's expos but also going toe-to-toe with JD in the center of the map.

But on the bright side, JD's victory in the OSL is assured now.

I think that was one of the most painful ZvT games I've ever had to endure, outside of sAviOr vs FBH on Python. If you'd heard Jd denied a bunker rush, denied a timing push, sniped 30 vessels and was playing off 4 gas most of the game, there's no way you'd expect a loss. The game is usually over after #1.

The game is usually over after #1. but fantasy just played so smart totally outexpanding JD and slowly building up that huge tank army. those super clutch defiler snipes with tanks at the end were so awesome (even though it made me cringe as a Zerg player). I think JD's biggest mistake was that he didnt do any muta harass after defending the sunken break. He took the risk of fantasy catching up by not harassing or pressuring him at all to get a faster and larger high-tech army but it didn't pay off. I've NEVER SEEN a terran expand that much in a tvz before lol

Well he was definitively turtling as soon as the Bunker Rush ended, and everytime he lost his expeditionary force (Lots of times) he kept crammed in his base for a couple minutes, where he was never threatened because he had half his army there anyhow. Outsider, with it's double back door accessible expansions lends itself to just sitting back, throwing up a monster defense, macroing up, pushing up, rinse, repeat, and Fantasy did that very well.

I would really love to see him triumph of JD and then Yarnc in the OSL and prove himself as the best Terran of today and the true successor of oov and boxer.
