go.go's sporting two TvZ losses in this OSL - one to Juni in the Round of 36 and one to ZerO in the Round of 16. However, his teammate Yarnc is going to be his toughest challenge yet. Yarnc has easily one of the best ZvTs around, and he should be able to capitalize on the fairly neutral battleground of Holy World. The two teammates have never met head-to-head, this should be an interesting first encounter.
Once again, Leta's TvZ just outclasses the rookie type-b here. Outsider slightly favors Zerg, but we've seen Leta execute brilliant two-port wraiths on this map before. Not to mention his only loss to a Zerg on the map is to Jaedong, putting him at a sound 5-1 record. Again, the two hite teammates have never faced each other, making their first encounter quite important.
The third teammate tiff tonight turns these two Terran teammates toe-to-toe (sorry I love alliteration). Canata had a hotstreak in his TvT a year ago where he tore up absolutely everyone and anyone. While he's since cooled off, his prowess in the matchup is undeniable, and he's riding another hotstreak again, in the quarterfinals of both leagues. Meanwhile, fantasy is fresh off of a loss to teammate Bisu in the MSL. His 58% TvT is slightly higher than Canata's 56%.
Jaedong simply has ZerO's number, going 4-1 against the Stars Zerg in official, televised matches. Throw in a 2-0 thrashing in the 07 Spring OSL prelims and The Tyrant has 6 wins over the young Zerg. Nevermind the 77% winrate in his mirror matchup. Some people have been hopping on the slump bandwagon for Jaedong recently, being that he lost a Bo3 and dropped the first game of a Bo5 (where have we seen that before), but ZerO's ZvZ rates at a lowly 48%, almost 30 percentage points lower than his opponent.
The one advantage is ZerO has a much looser schedule than Jaedong, playing one ZvZ last night, while Jaedong has had GOM, MSL and Proleague to worry about prior to this match.
go.go tries to pull a page from Flash's book and opens up with a proxy rax against his opponent, but Yarnc's got some maphacks in his brain and scouts it, and kills the constructing SCV with his drone. go.go decides to try again with a factory, but doesn't really do anythng. Yarnc counters with some hydras and is sorta shut down, tries to morph some lurkers but go.go sees them hidden. However, Yarnc had been getting mutas, they appear, go.go ggs.
DISCLAIMER: I woke up in the first 2 minutes of this game from my nap between this and eStars, so I'm a bit foggy.
Leta opens up with a proxy factory that is almost scouted, but type-b's hydras stop the vulture anyways as it was spotted trying to be bugged through the minerals. From here type-b transitions to lurker/ling while Leta goes for Mnm + tanks/vessels. A good game ensues, with type-b getting to hive tech and finally just overrunning Leta with lurker/ling/defilers/ultras.
Fantasy opens up on the aggressive with a proxy factory while Canata opens up with a FE build. After fantasy's initial attack, he moves to 2port wraiths, while Canata continues at his pace. Wraiths eliminate most of the SCVs at Canata's main while fantasy loses a depot and some SCVs from Canata's tank + vulture. Fantasy just goes into macro mode and rolls Canata over with vulture drops and eventually an overwhelming tank force busting down the front door.
ZerO opens overpool. Jaedong opens 12hat. Jaedong shows why he's a pimp and traps ZerO's lings at his natural. After that he chases ZerO back to his main where he streams lings into the natural, kills ZerO's hatchery and then goes for his drone line. Jaedong's 3 mutas pop and arrive to ZerO's 4 scourge + 1 muta, and ZerO ggs.
GG, wow these 2 know each others tricks so friggin well, thats the result of mass practicing with each other, biggest rape Ive seen of recent times, JD vs Kal/Much is around the same level, but no 3kill drone in that.
type-b (Purple Zerg at 6) vs. Leta (Orange Terran at 12) on Outsider
Leta puts his rax in his natural, and type-b 9 scouts, but Leta brings another SCV and kills the drone. Looks like the same thing Canata did to Jaedong since Leta is getting gas.
Leta has hopped a SCV over the left minerals, but type-b has an overlord there..
WTF DID HE SEE THE FACTORY??? HE MOVED HIS OVERLORD BACK!! FPView shows that he saw it.
Leta loads up a dropship, but type-b sees it with scourge. He loses the scourge as leta drops his marines, but he catches the dropship with 2 other scourge.
type-b cleans up the drop with lings.
Leta is pushing out with 3 tanks, with a vessel soon to follow.
type-b getting hive.
type-b attacks Leta's forces!! TAKES OUT ALL THE TANKS!! Leta retreats his remaining marines! type-b will definitely have defilers out in time.
type-b has a shitton of lurkers and is pushing Leta back, reducing the number of mbm but losing a lot of units himself. Leta's macro is solid so far, good amount of reinforcements flowing in
Leta drops a tank and 4 marines onto the ridge above the natural of 9, but it doesn't do too much. Leta is taking the dual gas at 7, and has his ultralisk cavern up.
Leta is taking the mineral only below his base.
I think Leta lost another dropship, but I didn't see it go down.
Plague on Leta's forces cause him to retreat.
Mines out for Leta.
Leta is still poudning on type-b's 9 natural.
type-b takes out the tanks, but the tanks on the ridge remain.
GG, really impressive play by TypeB, great control multitasking, patience and well played maphax, weird that he plays Savior style management style and doesnt take on the OGN school of ZvT, with random mass shit and really weird timing attacks and a weird playstyle, really liked how he played. GG, I want to see Yarnc vs Leta in a bo5 though, no ZvZ bo5 please :/
I predict all minerals mined from the map, all but 1 vespene geysers depleted of gas. 200/200 supply armies, all entrenched tanks some scvs goliaths and atleast 100 turrets for both sides. -___-

You're wrong. Leta played really well too. He puts loads of pressure on throughout all phases of the game but everything he tried was denied. Every harass was countered. Once defilers came out type-b used them so well it didn't really give Leta a chance. Almost flawless control and finesse.

Just like how by.hero popped outta nowhere and got seeded for this OSL. Before this match even started, I predicted Type-B to win and wouldn't be surprised if he even takes the series. But unfortunately for him, Semi-final is as far as he will get because Yarnc will be waiting for him.

maybe you weren't taking note of anyone except the top tiered players, but by.hero showed a lot of potential before too, i wasnt surprised he got that far until he ran into the brick wall of zvz that was jaedong back then
I predict Canata winning as for the last match i think its 60:40 in favor for Jaedong. He isnt the Jaedong that destroyed the last OSL, but i hope he wins

I already know that by.hero showed alot of potential too before but it wasn't until after he entered the OSL. He was a darkhorse just like Type-B. I was just implying that no one predicted by.hero to get as far as semifinals. But I guess it's still a lil too early to say that type-b will get to semifinals as well but it's very possible.. seeing how his 1st game against Leta turned out.

i saw potential before the osl semifinals (edit: and osl matches, even). if you saw his games there were mistakes, but his understanding of the game seemed deep. i think he'll follow the same steps as luxury, who had lots of potential but made a lot of mistakes (some unacceptable, like losing ovies to first cannon of toss FEs), but got better and better as he fixed them and bolstered his understanding of the game. hopefully hero doesnt fall from grace as fast though

i think Type-B's potential could have been seen before like 9 months. there was a time when he was often playing in proleague. i just thought he was becoming a pretty strong player, but then he suddenly disappeared and only played minor league.

How high is Fantasy/Flash's EAPM? They always seem to have around 280-320 APM, and they seem to have really strong management/cost effective styles, and Flash's multitask is out of this world too.

I'd imagine the ratio is something like Savior's, meaning like 240-260 eapm.

Jaedong 12 Hatches while ZerO.... 12 pools? I dunno, but Jaedong will have lings out in time to deal with ZerO. Jaedong gets a good surround on ZerO's lings and stops them from doing anything!
Jaedong holds with his 12 hatch. Saves his drone too!
ZerO is getting lair and seems to have Zergling speed while Jaedong's Zergling speed just finished.

yes, i think calm cant be the team's ace. he can only be the number 2 of his team. in my eyes zero, yarnc and type-b gonna be the next good zergs. guemchi is also someone you must look forward to after winners league. also i didnt understand why go.go wasnt in the spotlight for some time. in my eyes he and leta were nearly on the same level when OGN was in proleague finals

I expect zatic to get the VODs up in about 5 minutes, but today's matches are in my on demand filed under Bacchus OSL 2009 if you guys want to see them.
I wouldn't call Fantasy's TvT S-class. Or maybe that's just 'cause his TvP is really good and there's a lot of new good terrans. I'm leaning toward borderline.

For type-b vs Leta's game summary, the factory was scouted, it's just type-b pretended as though he did not see the factory by turning the overlord around and mislead Leta.

Yeah, I too wanted to mention that to the OP but I figured I'd just stay quiet cause Type-B's build was ready for that proxy anyways before he even scouted.
Thank god jaedong is back on his game. I thought that with the comfort of zvz he could get past effort, but nooooo. But it looks like he got his flair back even when he was kind of at a BO disadvantage, just goes to show how good he really is. Fantasy looked really good, and clever as always. Type B, wooooo. I bet Leta hasn't slept in about a week.
