F YOU BRACKET GODS

I thought Zero had a very good chance of winning this OSL if he could just dodge Jaedong...

It would've been even better if Backho had qualified instead of fantasy

Zero is still alive in MSL, you can't say for sure that he can devote all his energy into ZvZ. And as others have said, it's Jaedong, I'm not sure that matters.

Protoss sucked except for Kal and Bisu and Stork, somewhat. Bisu got owned pretty badly by unorthodox strategies and Stork had to play PvZ and go against Fantasy. Kal was beaten by ZerO, which isn't too bad since it was the first time ITs were used.

When Protoss wins, the maps are Protoss favored. When Protoss loses, it's because the Protoss players suck.

I love your logic.

So are you claiming that Jangbi free and BeSt are not sucking right now? And whenever did I mention that they won since the maps were protoss favored?
Okay, I can give Holy World as bad for protoss, and I even said that Kal, Bisu, and Stork (somewhat) are doing good. I explained why they got beat. But the other maps aren't bad for protoss except Outsider which is balanced statswise.
Oh, I see, I didn't mean to post "sucked" as in the past tense. I mean right now, they suck except for those three.

During the ClubDay MSL you were complaining very chronically that all the maps were Protoss favored, which you said was the only reason why so many Protoss players were winning. You also mentioned that Return of the King was Protoss favored during the Batoo OSL when I mentioned that the map was advantageous for Zerg.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=89835&currentpage=52#1040 My post mentioned the following:

Sin Chupung Ryeong and Return of the King aren't very fun for PvZ either. And before you mention that Return of the King is 6-9 ZvP, I suggest you actually try playing that map before you come to the conclusion that it's protoss favored. With two entrances leading into the natural, it is so easy for zerg to flank and harass you it's not even funny.

To which you replied:

Show nested quote +
Or you could realize that RoTK is 9-1 for Protoss in its lats 10 PvZs. But obviously none of the Korean zergs have thought about flanking?

http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/maps/184_Return_of_the_King/games/ZvP Current stats now.

Still wanna tell me RoTK is Protoss favored now?

"During the ClubDay MSL you were complaining very chronically that all the maps were Protoss favored, which you said was the only reason why so many Protoss players were winning. "
No I said it was a reason why they were winning so much at the same time in addition to their skill. Don't put me down to absolutes.

"Still wanna tell me RoTK is Protoss favored now?"
Obviously not, the change in strategies can rapidly change the balance of a map. Like Destination, once the 4 gate 2 archon build had been figured out by using a sim city, it changed to favor zergs. Maybe we are seeing something similar here. Note that I said that last season before the strategy change, when it was favored for Protoss. I still wonder why the zergs do not flank the natural in the games we have seen as you say it is so easy to win by doing so.

Oh crap, for the OSL JD is facing a zerg, for the GSL JD is facing a zerg, for PL JD is facing a zerg, however will he get the time to prepare?

Flash cheeses EffOrt out of the OSL T-T
No protoss make it out of the Ro16 T-T
We have to endure go.go and Canata instead of the much more interesting Bisu, Hwasin, or hero T-T

Jaedong is going to get his golden mouse and it won't even be this 'wow' moment because the entire tournament leading up to it will be boring as hell.

It's kind of sad that Jaedong and Fantasy will met in Ro4 if they both win. That means the best outcomes for a close finals would be like Yarnc vs Fantasy or Leta vs Jaedong, the latter of which isn't that impressive. (I don't want a tvt finals between leta and fantasy, ughhh)

This OSL is looking to be a bummer. I imagine Jaedong vs Fantasy will be similar to Savior vs Iris -- the real finals, since Leta vs Jaedong doesn't look like it'll be too close, similar to nada vs savior.

But hey, Jaedong with a golden mouse sounds pretty cool. He did have to beat Flash and Effort to get here so it's not like he has the easiest run. It's just sad that he isn't going to get a chance to dispell his weak vs Protoss myth.

Time to go watch the MSL and hope for Flash/Jaedong vs Bisu.
Remember Violet.

Re: Flash cheesing, it was really a damned if you do, damned if you don't deal.

1) Plays straight up, wins. Fans will criticize him for wasting practice time on this the next time he loses a meaningful game.

2) Plays straight up, loses. People will say he sucks, as well as complaining about his wasted practice.

3) Cheeses, wins. See thread for resultant complaints.

4) Cheeses, loses. People will complain about his nonstandard play, and also say he threw the game to avenge himself against Jaedong.

So really, just lay off.

LR I'm just an EffOrt fanboy, not so much mad at Flash as I'm just generally sad EffOrt is out. To me this tournament is 10x less compelling without EffOrt, Bisu, Stork, Hwasin, and hero, all of whom were eliminated yesterday.

I'll just go to rooting for type-b now I guess.

there are 4 zergs in the OSL

Hwasin's TvZ is like 10213218042130942013432143214 times more entertaining that cantata's.

I can't agree more. That's exactly what I was thinking reading some of the complaints on FlaSh's play.

Wasn't referring to you; earlier comments by others were far more disparaging to Flash ;p

Trust me I understand the sentiment when your favorite player gets eliminated.

Re: OSL entertainment, agreed. Lack of Protoss sucks. This is why Protosses need a HERO. This wimpy Revolutionist who rigs groups his way and then gets humiliated is a far cry from the great man who sacrificed easy brackets to help younger players (e.g. picking Shark, a zerg, so that MBC players wouldn't all be in the same group).

EffOrt is more interesting than type-b and Yarnc. Hwasin moreso than go.go.

But I feel like I can embrace the Canata storyline. Guy struggles with mediocrity for five long years and finally achieves some success - in both leagues nonetheless.

Jaedong going for the Mouse is also pretty okay. As is his total rejection of the OSL curse.

Ok Canata maybe it's finally your time. I don't want Jaedong to win the Golden Mouse. It would just feel wrong to me.

Oh, and Bisu... let's make sure we focus on MSL hardcore now hmm? First to 4 wins in either league would be a neat achievement.
