I'll just go to rooting for type-b now I guess.
Wasn't referring to you; earlier comments by others were far more disparaging to Flash ;p
Trust me I understand the sentiment when your favorite player gets eliminated.
Re: OSL entertainment, agreed. Lack of Protoss sucks. This is why Protosses need a HERO. This wimpy Revolutionist who rigs groups his way and then gets humiliated is a far cry from the great man who sacrificed easy brackets to help younger players (e.g. picking Shark, a zerg, so that MBC players wouldn't all be in the same group).
EffOrt is more interesting than type-b and Yarnc. Hwasin moreso than go.go.
But I feel like I can embrace the Canata storyline. Guy struggles with mediocrity for five long years and finally achieves some success - in both leagues nonetheless.
Jaedong going for the Mouse is also pretty okay. As is his total rejection of the OSL curse.
Wouldn't he also be rejecting the Kim Carrier curse since I am pretty sure he chose him?

However, for him to win the Mouse against lacklustre competition seems somewhat anticlimactic, and in this I agree that it would feel wrong.
Thus Canata for Bacchus 2009.
july didn't have the greatest competition when he won his golden mouse but it was still epic as hell.
being the 1st person to win 2 OSLs in a row since Boxer, no matter what the competition, is super awesome. If he beats Zero, Fantasy, and then Leta in the finals that would still be quite an accomplishment.
But yeah, It'd just be like 10x more epic if it were vs like stork (Ro8), bisu (semis), and flash (finals).
Hehe life is so unfair for progamers. Either you're a champion, or if you quite never got there, then you're "mediocre" in the eyes of fans, despite the fact that at any given time you could log on IC CUP and ROFLstomp any online player with your off-race...
But back on topic, seems like Jaedong is taking this... We all love upsets, but I can't realistically see Jaedong dropping the ball now.

You can't really compare July to Jaedong. July was a supposedly slumping oldie who came out of nowhere to win an OSL. Jaedong has been dominating for the past 1.5 years and has shown no signs of slowing down. Still, winning 2 OSLs in a row would be fuckin sweet =D
Wow I just watched Stork vs Fantasy, and when the game was over there was something different in stork's expression -- he'd just lost a PvT getting 100% outclassed. You could see him replaying the game in his mind, thinking about what he could've done differently -- and he couldn't think of anything for at least the 20 seconds the camera lingered on him. "Didn't I win the OSL vs this guy?"
Stork will be thinking about that game for a long time.

Lacklustre competition ? With Zero , fantasy/Canata and possible Leta / Yarnc in the final . He also beat Flash and Effort curently one of the best players i doubt that is a lacklustre compatition , but yeah compared to Jaedong the other players just look bleak now . Still fantasy , zero , leta and Yarnc aren't laclustre competition by any means .
even though i want jaedong to win this OSL and hence the Golden Mouse, i cant shake that stinkin' feeling that he will just totally lose it before the finals...
past week or so he's been looking like he's losing whatever it is that gave him the edge over everyone else... maybe he should drop the MSL and concentrate on the OSL instead...

As previously mentioned, that was a sneak-attack-outta-nowhere-return-to-glory, exciting tourney with some sweet games, whereas this would be just more of the same monotony and totally expected.
