There was a positive in Daniel Lee having the balls to freak out mid-broadcast just because he was pissed off that equaled out the negative of Daniel Lee acting like a stupid fucking child ! Barely ever does he expand on anything Tasteless says or add depth to the cast. It's not the language barrier either because I just watched 3 hours of WC3 where 2 foreign dudes explained the course of the most fucking complicated game on the planet so beautifully I felt like I was a professional with them. Get Artosis in, or someone else. SDM is an awful commentator; good job Tasteless is capable of doing it himself.
I agree with Klive, especially about replacing Daniel Lee with Artosis. In the impossibly unlikely case someone at GOM is reading this: I will pay for a Premium Membership if Artosis is casting your games (and I'm sure a ton of other fans will too). Frankly, GOM needs to improve its product if it's going to sell.
FS's muffin-topping excellent post captures a lot of the arguments I've been trying to make over the course of this thread, with some additional information I didn't know about (IdrA iCCup-ing at eSTRO). Now I feel more confident standing by my initial statement that Daniel Lee doesn't care about the foreign SC scene.

i dont think thats a fair statement JWD i just think he didn't put near enough effort into Idra to justify anything that is at all like what he said, even to add hyperbole to an existing attitude. the attitude itself isnt justified
whether he wanted Idra to adjust and mingle himself or he was simply neglectful is a question that will never be answered

except rekrul doesnt have to make stuff up and he's more eloquent ^____^

Haha thats quite similar to how I feel about it.
Whenever I read one of rekruls post I think to myself "what a dick" but I still love reading it
And while I think SDM was very wrong I certainly liked the drama
And I agree about Artosis, I would most likely also pay for a premium if he was casting.
I think tasteless and SDM are a great entertaining duo, but when Tasteless and Artosis casted ESWC their commentary was soo much more informative, I even liked tasteless' commentary way better than his relatively superficial commentaries @gom

The VODs will be available on Starfeeder soon.
And Artosis is not going to work for GOM, SCforAll and GOM are competitors... there is a lot of miss-information going on in this trend, but alas I can't respond (nor really want to) to most of it.
Batch 2 VODs will be commentated live this Friday! Should be same time, I will double check on that for you guys.

What about the rest of the ro16 players that havent done anything wrong and put their backs into these games?
Coming from some other clan and 1v1 games, global chat during games ALWAYS leads to bad things. It's in the best interests of any comp to have players shuttup after live/game starts. Im pretty surprised to see it happening in SC which has such a history of tourneys.

SDM sometimes is redundant, but he's really enjoyable and sometimes says things you could not know from any other sourse (like what the coaches said, or what the players said unoficcially befor matches etc..)

He says interesting stuff far too infrequently for my liking. It's almost like he doesn't really understand the game.
