seriously during our Ro8 match I told them like 4 times on the channel that we can't play the ace match because our ace couldn't play. They totally ignored it and then kept asking 1 of my players for like 10 minutes where's the ace (our whole team left ICCUP except for him). WTF lol

because he didn't want to play obviously lol
we were at a LAN event and were all in the 2v2 tourney and we had other matches to play. no one wanted to play an ace match that didnt matter :\
Sounds like you guys were assholes for not playing a game lol.
It's not like it was a random game, it was scheduled. You should've honored the schedule and played the game or forfeited?
We had already lost 0-4 and we had a 2v2 tournament with nearly all of our players on the roster playing in it for a Gamefest which happened at basically the same time as the CSL. Since we had already lost every game up until that point, and the 2v2 tournament for the Gamefest had been stalled (it was scheduled to start when the CSL match began) we decided that the Gamefest 2v2 tournament was a far more pressing issue, especially with us having been eliminated.
Berkley players were just pissy because we couldn't provide an ace player, even though it wouldn't have mattered in the outcome of the match at all.
They weren't pissy they just refused to read the 6 messages I typed on the channel saying we weren't playing the ace match lol
It was literally me saying "hey guys our ace can't play and no one else wants to so there won't be an ace match" followed by a bunch of chit-chat between the berkeley players, then 1 going "hey when is ace starting?!" repeated about 4 times then I finally left. It was like they all /ignored me or something.
You guys didn't need to play all 5 games...or was I wrong?
The only reason that we played 5 games in the regular season was due to the case there may be tiebreakers, and the team with more wins would be one to advance to the quarterfinals.
As far as I know, I think UTexas, Rutgers, and Berkeley are still the undefeated teams in the league.

That help but I meant the roster for every teams in this league. I would be curious, especially about Mcgill since I live 5 min off there eventhough I'm not a student.
McGill forfeited because of real life issues--the majority of their players have disappeared off the face of StarCraft, uninstalling because of exams. It's kind of a shame, but McGill and Berkeley have agreed to hold a mini-showmatch that doesn't officially count, just so we can see some more games out there.
gg guys, it is a shame that CapO couldn't make it but what's done is done.
There are too many ignorant idiots on the stream though. People were talking how Nesh and joLin were playing at a D/D+ level. As if they can do any better. Seriously, idiots piss me off.

theres actually been an amazing turnout rate for something with no prize or anything.

Match forfeits weren't all that common, although we had a huge variety of reasons for those types of forfeits--the coordinator coming down with violent stomach flu, exams, misreading emails, misreading time zones.
Game forfeits probably happened more often. It's hard to decide a completely fair policy, and a lot of the admin wanted no substitutions whatsoever. We settled on a compromise of 24h announcement in advance of needing a substitute, provided that 1) that substitute was of the same race and 2) that the opposing team agreed.
I don't understand the point of calling it an ace match then. Why not just say there are 5 games?
Good point. ACE is technically just played for tiebreaker purposes in the Swiss rounds and isn't really required in the Single Elimination rounds. But players and races for ace are unannounced until its played (and yes, you can repeat players).

I thought you played well for going up against Nesh. I really thought you could've taken that game at some points.
