bisu now has 1.5 controls of goon/zealot inside leta's base, killing starport, now moving on to the depots and armory. leta has a few tanks and vult back, bisu still harassing the base with goon and zealot
Bisu with total map control and access to all tech, though Leta has set a solid defense in the lower right and center right of the map. Needs some more vulture harass from Leta. BISU ENGAGING!...jk he backs off.
leta is about to take down the nexus at bottom again, but bisu warped another one at top right, but leta spots it with a vulture. i don't understand why leta doesn't quit, he has NO minerals, and NO units except a dropship with maybe three gollies..
the lone vulture took out a zealot with nice micro, but it's not going to hold
I wonder who SPARKYZ can send to take him out? Without any good Protosses, Medusa is a big problem for them. Could we see one of their rookie Tosses here, or will they send Yarnc?
Let me also add I have NO idea what OGN was thinking by sending out Leta for the first set, knowing that they are playing a Protoss-heavy team and maps 2-4 are Protoss heavens. Why not a lesser Terran like go.go or even Notice for the 1set?
Strong play from Bisu. He always seemed a step ahead of Leta, anticipating the dropship harass. Plus he never overexpanded, never gave Leta any serious timing windows to break open. Leta played hard, but once his first push failed the outcome of the game was out of his hands. He did a great job killing the southwest nexii though.

At least Leta beat Flash this month. Were you around when the PR was created, that is, before Leta had beaten ANY other top 10 player (debatable whether Lux is top 10, he keeps fluctuating)

Hey, maybe you should consider that when the PR was written Bisu had just been kicked out of both leagues and was whining about how Tears of the Moon is imba and he lost to the map not by.hero.
And maybe you should think about the game: by no means should Leta have made it that close. He played brilliantly there; it just wasn't quite enough.
Perhaps HoGiL has some cheese prepared? Not much you can really do on Medusa...if OGN was smart this would be a snipe, but I feel like it's just "Bisu is pretty much autowin on Medusa anyway, so let's send out a noob to get hosed".
On February 22 2009 13:57 BlackMagister wrote: HoGiL or Clay?
Both have pretty bad stats overall. Hogil's ZvP is his best mu around 60%. It looks more like clay tough. Clay is at 0% ZvP. I'd say this is a throw away match for OGN?

PR is about overall performance in given month, not about who didnt play and who didnt beat who.

Yeah, and overall performance is partly dictated by who you play. The top players played each other and beat each other. Leta played almost all mediocre players and beat them all. Does that mean he should have been #1 PR over Bisu, JD, Jangbi, or Flash? It's a matter of opinion but my opinion is no.

At least Leta won consistently when the current power rank was created.

Leta n°1 PR spot is just hiccup. There was a huge hype for him, until he started playing S class people and started to lose. The PR reflects that huge hype. Im pretty sure he will get a much lower spot next month and number one will be either Bisu or Jaedong, depending on their games in that Gom TV Special.

Probably not that he's expecting cheese, but moreso that he thinks he will win any straight up game against HoGil easily, and so should prepare for cheese.

went for a lurker opening, bisu probably was familiar with the build and pressured with a half dozen zealots before lurkers popped and when there was only one sunken and a few zerglings, spent lots on zerglings, killed some drones, plus he pushed into the main with a few zealots and killed a few drones while a dt harassed the nat. just totally killed the timing
citadel going up for bisu... oh shit tazza's shuttle spotted
BUT A NICE SURROUND by tazza, putting his reavers behind, and goons to come out front. takes out bisu's containing army with one key casualty - he lost his shuttle?
Bisu with 4 reavers now it looks like. Dropping tazzas main and kills a ridiculous number of probes. I think tazza has no option but to kill Bisu right now. Economically dragging out this game just wont work for tazza.
Ohh ya he just beat is old elo peak last game normally this game should make him go in front of oov so normally 2nd best elo peak.... making HISTORY:D i hope
Okay, Bisu's definitely broken his old ELO peak of 3325 by now. He started with 3314, that Leta game had to have given him around 8-10 points. Cleaning up chumps like Hogil and Tazza is worth 5-7 points at least. So, if my wild speculations are correct, Bisu is around 3327-3330. He might surpass Flash if he beats Yarnc here!
anyway, i guess the gateway timings played a good part.
bisu was able to build goons more quickly (had faster gateways), thus being able to be even against tazza's goon numbers, while keeping 3 goons at main to ward off harass.
then his micro paid off.
so i dunno, that's my analysis if anyone cares. i might be wrong though my pvp on iccup is at 30-40% ^^
This must be "pad Bisu's ego" night...OGN producing a stream of noobs to be curbstomped by Bisu.
My take is that as soon as Leta lost, OGN's coaches went on damage control: "OK, we're not going to win this match. Let's let our better players have a night off and get some experience for the rookies."
The only thing I do NOT understand is why would OGN open with its best Terran against a Protoss-heavy team, with maps 2 and 3 being seriously P > T? Makes ZERO sense to me.

They probably had Tazza and Hogil in mind as Protoss Snipers, lawl.
Wow. What did Bisu do for OGN to deserve an all-kill as a present? Sure, eliminating Leta looked like it required some effort, but what the heck was up with their next three choices?
Also, huzzahs are in order! Bisu's ELO is now 2333. If he can win just a few more games before his next loss, he'll set a new record!
wtf was OGN thinking sending Leta first and sending b-type instead of yellow? Yellow still would've probably gotten raped but he still would've fared better than b-type..

And only 3+ ELO POINTS..
Because they didnt think they had a player who could take down Canata except Leta. Yarnc can't take down Canata. Leta is a TvT monster. So why waste valuable players? You can depend on Leta to get about 3 wins and get the remaining wins from their chump players

You're talking as if the teams can see what the other team chose before selecting their own starter player. In the end, choices come down to what players the other team has and the maps. Explains everything, except in this case where they knew they were screwed without Leta so they sacrificed some zergs for experience.

With bisu and best on the opposing team I really doubt Canata should be someone they should be worried about let alone taking the risk of sending out best player for haha

Yarnc cant take out Canata? That's the funniest thing I've read in a long while.

No all kill is easy. You have to win straight 4 games in one row. Stars drop game from time to time to low-tier Progamer. JD and Flash do all-kill ACE, nobody said it was an easy all kill, JD get a big destroyer picture in spoiler for that. Flash's OZ all-kill is probably more impressive.
Although all kills are definitely not easy, especially at their level,
OGN made it easy for Bisu i think. I mean Bisu vs Leta was supposed to be good, but bisu just rolled him, well at least by the LRing of some; i couldnt watch the game xD
Against Hogil, he just blocked Hogil's Lurk/Ling backdoor attempt with cannons while harassing with zealots + dt. Hogil couldn't multitask, lost quite a few drones, and wasted his army on cannons, accomplishing nothing. then he got rolled.
Tazza, he got out microed in the first key goon/reav battle between him and bisu led to contain, and eventually a gg.
as for type-b, he did a 2 hatch hydra all in, but bisu, with very nice probe micro, blocked it successfully. I think type-b might have over committed when he crossed the bridge (on destination), then got a lot of his hydras stuck by probes.
anyway, it's just that; in any of the games, bisu was never in a real threat.
ROFL I just watched these VODs on youtube and saw the clip in game 2 where they show a splitscreen between Boxer and go.go. The most beloved and the most hated progamer on the scene. Pure gold, really sad I missed that live!
Tazza is good, I mean for real. He will be the next big thing for toss. He showed great skill vs Bisu, KTY was lucky to snipe the shuttle when Tazza was breaking out, but the kid really has smth, at least in PvP. Thou I cant believe I missed this match. lol if you consider bad players occasionally getting wins sniping, then yeah!! When your entire team basically sucks and one finally wins, I wouldn't count that as sniping. Just statistical inevitability.

LOL :D. Bisu is scary when he is focus on micro, but he has the habit of just throwing things away, when he has the upper hand advantage. He would just throw army into enemy without care and lose it all, take Gruemchi match for example.

Jaedong has been losing alot for past week, same for luxury. I think jangbi and leta form was consistently good enough for a match against bisu. Well Leta lose was partly because of map favouring P then T. So i hope they could get another round up.

Jaedong lost a meaningless ZvZ and got cheesed once, that doesn't really qualify as "losing alot". Leta's TvP is not in the same realm as Bisu and Jangbi's PvT, it has nothing to do with the map. And Jangbi isn't in the OSL.
