this is one of the games u watch but dont understand.... at least i didnt c how iris clearly won the game... it was prolly the drop that took out all of canata's facts and when canata sloppily walked in2 mines when iris was on a single base

I thought Iris had the base advantage(or at least equal) the whole game? Hence able to recover from all those dropship fails.

Although I do feel Canata was in the lead for a while, TvT is not nearly as razor sharp a MU as the other mirrors.

He lost tons and tons of SCVs to Canata's vulture harass, he lost his dropships time and time again, most of his bases weren't even mining because he didn't have enough SCVs for them. It just makes the comeback that much more surprising.

It is a timing attack, if that's how you should call it. Iris waits for Canata's units to charge into his 7 o' clock expo, then Iris drops units into Canata's main and takes out all the factories. Canata didn't have drop ships so he couldn't travel his units back to his main to defend.

LoL @ the people telling canata to quit when he pulled off a big comeback to beat jaedong a couple of days ago. He played solid then lost all his factories..and it seemed even while iris was behind he was pretty aggressive with expansions and thus was able to stay in and eventually pull a win out his ass.

edit: Destroying the tower before cloak finished was clutch

replay shows that the drop in canata's main and the fact canata did walk in2 iris's main and take out all his tanks coudl of lead to this. i mean nothign was stopping canata to just go up iris's ramp...

Well basically it looked like this, Iris had all is units in Canata's base, except for about 5 units defending his 2 mining bases and about 5 units defending his main,
Canata then proceeded to kill the 2 mining expansions with a group of tanks and sieged up his other group of tanks in front of Iris' main.
Had he used these to push into Iris' main he would've probably won, however, he left his tanks sieged until Iris was able to produce a large enough number of tanks to actually defend his main, while he used this other group of tanks to try and defend his mining bases while getting new factories up. Finally, he actually unsieged his army in front of Iris' tanks to defend from multiple spots, which resulted in Iris being able to get his 7 O'clock back running.
As they are showing the replay, Iris had only 3 or 4 sieged tanks next to his factories, which Canata would've easily been able to overwhelm, had he pushed in

I think Iris won because Canata didn't expand. Canata had a monster lead on the ground, but Iris kept disrupting the mining in Canata's third while eventually managing to defend his third. If Canata had expanded(or hell, kept his 12 expo defended), I don't think Iris would've managed his comeback.

that was such an epic tvt, hahaha. once u get +2 tanks, its all about position, it doesnt even matter if u're a couple of tanks behind. canata had ALL the plays that game, but iris had position, securing a second main. also, even with 3 remaining dropships, iris had mobility advantage, and 3-4 +2 tanks was enough to do major damage to canata's larger tank army at the 7oclock expo. all those advantages gave iris the win, although both played amazing nearly the whole game.
