Too bad Effort couldn't push it a little harder. Epic composure by Snow. Seems like a winner to me!

Snow: Eeffort is a strong opponent, and although I tried to put up a tough image, inside i was a bit afraid, so I'm glad I won. A: I had to win the 1st game but I lost, so I knew I had to pay extra attention to the 2nd game. I knew he would use Zerglings, so I was a bit more proactive with my zealots. A: Usually when I panic, I fail to defend when I should, and end up losing games I should. So I just recomposed myself. Q: On the game on Litmus, Effort tried to do a backdoor strat. How did you feel about it? A: I knew I just had to defend it and I would be in a good position, but as I was playing the game, I realised I was terrible with my building placements, and that made the game tougher for me. Effort is a strong opponent and he punished me well. A: Usually I always get reverse-swept or lose when I'm ahead. I hardly win a map 7 in a Bo7, if you notice. So this time, I really tried to focus and play to my very best. A: Except when I'm playing against Action, I usually lose most of my Zerg games. So I'm glad i can put another w in my record. Q: Barracks advanced to rRo4 first. Your thoughts? A: He plays really well, actually. In fact, in our practice, he wins more of our games. So he'll be a formidable foe. Q: Any words? A: I received a lot of help today, so I prepared in advance. Thanks to Soma, Queen, (i missed someone here), Hero, Soulkey, Larva, and everyone else. It's been about 5 years since I last advanced to the finals, so I definitely want to head to the finals. Also, to my wife.. Thank you.

Tricking Barracks into thinking he can beat him, while playing at 50% power in practice and saving his builds for the semifinal.

It's hard to gauge his level vs the major proleague players because he keeps parking in k league. Obviously he's major proleague worthy but maybe at the lower end of it (like JD most of the times). Snow has always been top end and Mini was when they played. In a Bo7 Effort has better chance but if they play 100 games for sure Snow will take 60-65 games for example.

He's favourite in the semis. "Quite unlikely" doesn't really apply. If it will be pvp, he has at least 50% chance, even against Bisu whose godly almost-Rain-like pvp dropped a lot. vs Larva and Soma he is not a favourite, but with a few build order advantages...

Looks like Snow used up all the 12 Nexus luck for Protoss today (at the expense of Mini lol). There may be a correlation between 12 Nexus and Protoss winning a BoX actually. Even in Rain's 4-2 victory against Soma a couple of years ago, he got away with 12 Nexus once.

Normally non-standard maps quickly demonstrate themselves to be extremely imbalanced (generally in Zerg's favor), but for Roaring Currents there are arguments for each race. e.g. It SHOULD be a good map for Carriers against Zerg, but Zerg also gets 4 bases with gases for basically free. i love having concept maps and i really wish it will stay for the next season. it's getting more playtime as pros figure the map out and how to work it to their strengths, and at least it's not the monstrosity that is Death Valley, as interesting as the concept was.

You can't use up that luck, the next pvz is probabilisticaly an independent event ![]()
