I wanted Best to win, but he fell behind from the start because he didn't check/recheck for hydras. That's pretty significant. The only sure way, actually yes, as in "if you do this you're completely fine against that specific play, regardless of what your opponent does". But that's not how BW is played and certainly not how the game is played at pro level. You get scouting information and react according to the information you have, and you gain advantage by building what's useful and skipping what's not useful for you according to that information. Best was not holding off a hydra bust, according to the scouting information he had, plus the map and spawn conditions. In BW unless you have map hack you rarely confirm something at 100% and you only make your decisions based on the 70-80% you obtain from scouting and meta. The information Best had dictates a normal game where your first Corsair is supposed to get the first Overlord and return home to avoid Scourges. By the way I doubt that if that Corsair headed towards BTS's main, the second Cannon would be on time anyway. Also Best did try to recheck by sending 1 Zealot out but it got caught by Lings). This kind of games (where Zerg cancel Lair and go for a Hydra bust) always happens from time to time and there's no real counter other than luck. Bisu died like that twice against Soulkey in recent seasons.

He gets to play Bisu in the winner of Ro16 by doing all-ins and tricks all along the way and got lucky with them. Gross. I blame you Hero.
