Piano is currently participating in a team league called JPL.
Most Korean female and male players are focusing on this tournament, and it's a playoff soon, so the players are conducting non-stream camp training.
He said that it was too difficult to meet the schedule because he had to comment on KCM on days without JPL, so he had little time to do personal broadcasts.
So I decided to include Saber, the final eliminator among the players who were in the same group as Saber.
If Piano had been eliminated from the round of 32, the position would have been Saber's.

Hello everyone.
Today I have some unfortunate news to share with you. Tyson, a CNSL S7 Round of 16 player, has withdrawn from the competition due to a wrist injury.
As a result, KId, who was in the same group as Tyson in the Round of 32, and elinimated from final match, will be competing in the Round of 16 as Tyson's replacement.

The schedule remains the same as before.
Thank you.

Lag is big problem。
Dewalt benefited from being the first to advance in the group。
Dewalt's opponents find it difficult to adapt to Lag and have made a lot of huge mistakes。

LMAO

nice cope, dude

Dewalt lives in a place from which lag with S. Korea is as good as it gets if you're not actually in S. Korea.

All his results are super legit and I'm very proud that a non-korean manages to go toe to toe with korean tier 2, 3 and 4 players at the moment. I never thought this moment will ever come. Shame that Bonyth can't play the same amount and that his location actually prevents him from participating in these leagues.

Anyways, GGs and WP!

?

But when registering for foreign tournaments and taking from the already limited prizepools, increasing lag, while barely watching/donating/sponsoring to said events, its ok?

To get back on topic, Castermuse runs a great event and deserves more attention than he's getting. There's just so much online high level Korean Starcraft out there though, difficult to stay caught up with everything.

if you play in 24 TR l Low, you will know lag is the worst thing in StarCraft. It's even worse than 14CC vs 4pool.

That is why 99% Korean players quit immediately when they see lag.

Will you play well with your anger always increase by time from lag? In this situation, you have to cheese or do anything to end game asap, although you know your enemy know your strategy. What a fair game?

If you never play in 24 TR l Low, lag is not exist with you!

All I hear is that Dewalt are able to adjust and play with worse lag. Maybe something others need to work in aswell instead of offering up excuses

Dewalt played with 24 TR l Low in Korea. 99% he will agree with me.

No one wants to lose game but why they quit game from lag? Lag is terrible than losing games more times.

I see a viewer who said "you need no lag to build a building" to troll. But he's right. Lag makes missclick, and then building or anything actions are not work well.

When 99% of your practice does not involve lag, it is difficult for you to adapt to lag games, and tactics and operations are prepared based on the absence of lag.
If 30% or even more of your ladder practice involves lag, then you will have rich experience in playing in a lag environment, and your operational habits and tactical preparation will also be better.
Because I practiced in this situation more than 20 years ago, my operations were all practiced according to the environment of the lag. It wasn't until 19 years ago that there was basically no lag. I am very clear about what operating habits should be developed in a lag situation, and also very clear about what tactics need to be prepared in a lag environment.

Dewalt played well and earned this, but also had the easiest group in ro16 for his specific playstyle. Hyun and MisO are weird all in players with bad late games. They are also both out of shape. In the other groups players are all far more active and much more diverse in their playstyle. MisO and Hyun are in that sense currently the two weakest Koreans in Ro16.

For example Group A with Motive, Ample, Paralyze and Ruin I would all rank above everyone in all the other groups. We will really get to see what Dewalt has been cooking once the Ro8 starts. But so far, He's played better than his competition and earned this.

TR 24 low is actually a BIG factor and getting anything below TR 20 just saps motivation and the usual micro tactics that these players can pull.

It is true that a bunch of top level micro is impossible at worse turnrates. specifically super all in aggressive players like Miso and Hyun suffer from it because for them winning or losing balances on the smallest margins. macro focused play suffers from it much less. Does not change what I said before. But i do hope foreign additions to tournaments stay within reasonable distance from Korea.

Ruin and Motive to round of 8.
Feel like either Ruin, Motive or Scan will win the Tournament. Scan has won one before. Ruin is just overall in good shape. Motive has improved and has been in prior semi-finals.

Thanks for your interest in the CNSL, everyone.
First of all, let me say that Dewalt is a very close friend of mine.
I know that Dewalt is working hard to minimize lag issues.
However, if the current situation of not being able to play 24 low can't be improved, I may not be able to invite Dewalt back for next season.
(Although nothing has been decided yet, I've gotten a lot of complaints from players about this, as you know, CNSL's Replay is streamed in English by Artosis and Spanish by Jan, so part of my purpose is to provide StarCraft content that international viewers can enjoy, so if a lot of Korean players complain, I may not have a choice).
The schedule for the quarterfinals is currently being finalized, and I'll share it here as soon as it's finalized.
Thanks as always.

Best Regards
CasterMuse

P.S.
I am looking for additional sponsorship for CNSL Matcherino.
Help me continue my creative endeavors like CNSL.

That's really unfortunate that players are complaining about lag when playing with Dewalt. I would still like to see Dewalt participate in future CNSL tournaments.

Yes, such whiny people. Imagine they play BSL where they have to play a peruvian with a polish guy obsing.

Or a peruvian playing vs a chinese with a stop in Poland. It's totally common place, these koreans are just so spoiled.

That is very unfortunate.. because tbqh I'm watching this series of tournaments for their non-korean representation, mostly.

Hopefully the problem will be able to be resolved until the next edition somehow.

As for now - Dewalt FIGHTING!!!

I hope you don't criticize Korean players for what I said.
It's a sensitive issue for players to know that lag can have a significant impact on their game.
In the case of BSL, people from all over the world participate in the competition and may be more tolerant of latency issues, but this is not the case in Korea. There is no reason why they should be blaimed because of different perceptions.

Koreans have way more tournaments, all of them with excellent latency. I kinda understand their view. It is not common place for them and never has been. They are lucky to have the conditions they have but it is not their fault our conditions suck.

It s very different from the chinese players who do compete (successfully, and with lag) in BSL and whine here.

In all cases, let s not pretend we never ourselves get a bit triggered if we have to play a laggy opponent in a tournament (eu vs peru clannwar or what have you).

Anyway, castermuse, the tournament is great and thank you for posting here and engaging with us regularly

Yeah I don’t blame the Koreans (nor dewalt for that matter).

When you’re used to a certain turn rate it’s difficult to adjust to something so different.

The problem is that with this attitude eventually everyone outside korea playing this game will have no choice but to quit playing altogether. They already have a bad ladder experience where many players are just leaving the game because of slight latency.

It's very hard to play this game if you are not korean and since korean players have a wealth of opportunities it is not much to ask to deal with a little bit of latency, it won't kill them. Especially for a player who has made the effort to travel to korea on multiple occasions, to participate in their tournaments.

Unfortunately.. Barring some singular exceptions over the years, they never cared, don't care now and will not care in the future.

It is specifically because they have so many other options that a tournament has to uphold certain standards, otherwise they won't participate in the tournament because they have other options that do. Castermuse is from that perspective doing the right thing. CNSL is largely a Korean tournament that started accepting foreigners after a coupe seasons. Season 4 had the first foreigner, Dewalt. Season 5 has a few more foreigners in it.

very excited for the semi-finals!

+ Show Spoiler [semi final predictions] +

Miso vs Motive! Got to give the edge here to Miso. Mismatch in styles. Motive is a calm and more late focused player where MisO is the opposite, focused on early game. BUT I want Motive to win.

Scan vs Yoon. Giving Scan the edge as his TvZ is almost as good as his TvT, with TvP being his worst(although he did beat Ruin 3-1 which is impressive. I think Scan might win his second CNSL.

Well, what you said here is just not true. There is no difference at all. All Chinese players play under TR24 low with zero lag every day. There are at least three show matches daily with Korean players. Some Korean players, like Srich, got invited to participate in Chinese tournaments as well, and it's always TR24 low. Playing in BSL is the only event in which Chinese players must endure lag.

If its "enduring" lag, why play?

Because of the tiny foreigner scene prize pool?

I think you misread what I wrote and that we actually both agree.
Players in both China and Korea enjoy lag free games internally and (mostly) vs each other, as you correctly state yet I never implied otherwise.

But the specific Chinese players that were at the start of this tournament do have experience with laggier situations in foreign events and have been successful there. Therefore it is not an entirely new situation for them and they have shown success with the same situation in the past. Whereas most koreans have never even encountered the situation in a tournament setting.
