I'm a bit said that at the offline event it's going to be only ro8, and not more. Also Vladivostok is pretty far frome me unfortunately. Was hoping secretly for Moscow. Nevertheless it's going to be a great tournament! Gogo RCG! And thank you Rus_Brain / esport.fund!
Is there any chance that we get a similar pledge like last 2 years (community doubling prizepool and we'll have another similar tourney next year)?
What if BSL 11 and 12 both have one or more same players in top 3? Additional qualifications?
all in all - this is all extremely HYPE ! ! ! What a great time for foreign Brood War that we have at least two to three big, stable tournaments going on every year (+ a lot of additional smaller ones and even team leagues).

BSL12 top-4/5/6 to qualify.

EU qualis are for Europeans and Soviets.

It's Vldv.
so there will be play-off placement matches for BSL 12? Even if someone goes out in the quarter finals they will still want to play for a chance of qualifying to RCG 2021, am I reading this correctly?

A very possible scenario, albeit these games may remain not casted live by BSL team due to a very tough schedule.

Yes, of course. The champion of BSL 11 is very welcomed to defend his title in BSL 12.

Yes, of course. RCG'22 is subject to 21st prize pool community double.

Wow, other side of Russia. Dayum, that's a shame. Won't be able to come spectate. But it's for sure going to be hell of a tournament and most likely a great offline event for all who qualifies!

no. . . where did you read that?
Eon says so.
What? I said u ban me for a long time from Jeez weekly instead of punishing casper cheating. Dont act now like im making this up.
I said your prize payments were restricted and would have been re-donated back to the Fund for the period of ten Jeez'es from about Jeez 55 to Jeez 65. Still, you could have collected "Korean scalps" to run higher for Jeez 2020 Grand Final. Nothing happened actually as you won nothing. Apparently, Jeez 100th took place already, so this story is very outdated. So, yes, you are making it up to dodge As you did in Jeez 2020 Grand Final.
Im pretty sure I was ban for some tourneys too but then you review and made it worse by no paying prizes. Just to defend Casper cheating. Cus he cheated and you punish me instead. Is all about that. But it happened last year. after the punishment was over. I comeback I conquer I left.
But it doesnt change the fact that u sided with a cheater and ban me instead.Cuz is what u did.

Omg I just checked - travel to Vladivostok from Peru is only possible through Moscow. About 19,000km by aircraft and +8-10 hours in time. I can hardly imagine any two places on the globe farther away from each other xD

Well, actually transpacific is possible via Korea and China.
This is a formal notice, that Cross is expressly allowed to override the "Korean ban" rule, where "Korean" was determined by a player's citizenship. Cross is expressly allowed to play as Cross, albeit his formal citizenship is still Korean. Banning Cross has no practical use to anyone. Everyone seems to accept Cross as a Canadian player throughout a number of online tournaments.
This is to remind you that RCG 2021 Qualification Americas will take place on June 5, 2021, at 15:00 EDT. Server: US West, Channel: op rcg2021. The best two will qualify. Please sign up here.+ Show Spoiler +
I've got a troll-driven question, whether players from Greenland are eligible to participate, and my response is Yes. They are double-eligible to play both from the Americas (by location) and Europe (being an autonomous region of an EU country).
Europe qualification will take place on June 6, 2021; at 15:00 CET. Server: Europe, Channel: op rcg2021. The best four players will qualify. Please sign up here.
After that, you will still have one more slot to take, but you will have to compete with everyone from the World: June 12, 2021; 15:00 CET. Server: Europe, Channel: op rcg2021. The only best player will qualify.
I will certainly be (co-)hosting Americas and EU quali, but I'm not so sure about the Worldwide one. I will be three days away from departing for Magadan. See details here, if you are interested: http://re.kgp.su/Magadan
Would be cool to have some actual information on the state of the third qualifying spot from BSL 12.. since two players in the top four already got the spot from BSL 12.. that makes trutaCz and Sziky the two qualifiers.
OyA from top 8 also has it.
So it's between eOn, UltrA and Dandy for the third spot.. what's the ruling on it? Round robin bo3 tie-breaker?

Please allow a bit of time to manage this one. ZZZero will finalise BSL12 soon (including RCG 2021 slots).

Of course, no problem. I just wanted to know if there is an official ruling yet, because I was interested in the situation and nobody said anything about it yet. That's all.
There is a rule to keep the region accountable for every player, and my eSport.fund committee and I considered dropping out NA quali.
However, there is a number of things we considered except this rule alone. Past NA champions devotion, past performance in the finals, costs, and expenses to name a few.
Eventually, we decided that it will be much fair to unite both Americas into one pool. Considering Dandy and TerrOr already qualified via BSL we anticipate real struggle and competition for these two more slots.
At the same time, there were at least nine chances for NA and LatAm to qualify in 2021 against four chances in 2020 and just three in 2019. Thus, the chances increased for both NA and LatAm. Surely we will see condensed top skill outside Korea

Let me congratulate those who have qualified for the Russian Cyber Games 2021 (RCG 2021), a part of the Russian Cyber Games tournament series, and supported by the eSport.fund.
All the arrangements are in place for the tournament to be held in August 2021. Unfortunately, I have some disappointing news for you. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Russia and across the world, I am compelled to postpone the offline event until summer next year.
The main reason for the postponement is the severe travel restrictions that will prevent most players from getting to Russia. For example, citizens from the US will not be allowed to depart, and EU citizens will not be allowed to land in Russia. We considered various options but could not find a definitive solution for going ahead with the event under the prevailing circumstances. If we had gone ahead with the tournament, more than half the champions would have missed the event this summer.
Please accept my sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations this time, and I hope to make up for it next year.
In the meanwhile, please stay safe and follow up on your vaccine schedules so that you are duly vaccinated by June 2022, latest. Players who are not vaccinated by then will be traveling at their own risk and expense.
I wish you all a safe and healthy time until we can all meet up next year.
I think it's a good decision, it would be hard to fully enjoy the offline tournament, while have to deal with travel restrictions (Plus everyone would kept in mind that they have to return home as well - dif countries has dif restrictions). Additionally, it would limit audience participation. The LAN should be a place where as many people as possible have the opportunity to meet their e-friends - we will take full advantage of it next year!
Damn, sad, no StarCraft LANs for one more year But i wish ro8 would be finished online this year to be honest, postpone only one round of big tournament is kinda weird for me.

i second this! Will RCG 2021(2) be played in Vladivostock regardless or is the location not decided upon yet?

That seems likely. I cannot imagine esport.fund running 2 RCG's in 1 year with the whole organisation and playoffs etc etc for RCG 2022 on top.
I came here with the unpleasant news that I have to withdraw from RCG 2021 prize-pool double-up pledge.
The current RCG 2021 contribution is +$802.50 made by these awesome folks: $670.00 Sziky $100.25 Deathfate $14.25 Hreyfill $10.00 Amegatron $6.00 Ramon_Peralta $2.00 masoka82
I believe it is most honest to release these honorable men, and let them decide whether they would like to refund the balance from Matcherino or re-donate to the RCG 2021 anew, provided that a double-up pledge is no longer valid.
The 2021st tournament will take place as planned. In Summer 2022. Either offline in Vladivostok or at least online if travel restrictions will still be in place.
I don't think this post has reached the bigger audience. This is really sad news, the end of an era in my opinion.
I don't like making length posts in public, mainly because I'm not good at it, but in this case I'd like to write what I feel.
RCG is an event that brought back memories from the past and added a lot of training motivation to all players, offline tournaments are something I love and I think they must be an integral part of our scene if we want to develop as a community. The opportunity to meet the players with whom we are competing online throughout the year is something unique and allows us to take a completely different perspective on our friends from the Internet and the issue of competition. This type of event has always been my main motivator to train, develop and devote my time to StarCraft, as well as being a motivator for currently active players.
Most people find it hard to imagine, but it's pretty clear to me that without RCG we wouldn't have the scene as it is. Maybe I'm bias, but I think that coexistence of RCG and BSL created an environment for training and development for players that has not been there since 2009/2010. These are two great complementary tournaments. RCG is a world championship with a very large prize pool, the largest unwritten prize - offline event, also, a lot of top players stay with StarCraft, which translates into attendance at BSL. On the other hand, BSL manages the players' time and motivates them to be active throughout the year, thanks to which the players participating in the RCG are in good shape. A great symbiosis.
When I look at the scene from a few years ago and compare it with the current one, it seems to me that the activity of players and tournament organizers is much higher - the best players really have a lot of opportunities to take part in tournaments or show matches with a prize pool. Of course, the big factor that made it possible is that Sport.Fund invested huge amounts of money a year ($ 50,000) into the StarCraft scene. However, in this case, money is a much smaller factor, and more important is the fact that it has been used wisely. Take a look at the events after the release of SC: R - e.g. ZOTAC CUP or ESL Italy - the prize pools were very large, and in combination with the costs, I am convinced that each even separately costed much more than $ 50,000, the effect? It was loud for a while and everyone forgot, no impact for the scene. Don't get me wrong, it is possible that these events were a marketing success, but I am talking about the impact on the condition of the SC: R scene. You can spend $ 50,000 in a corporate manner as events mentioned above, or you can do it in a bottom-up way like eSport.Fund did - which in my opinion gave very tangible benefits.
Thank you sir for all you have done for the SC: R community so far and I'm sure you had important reasons to make such a decision. I can't wait for RCG2021 [2022`]. And I hope this great event will return in the future.
It is difficult to operate at current environment and I believe if and when things get "back to normal", then we should resume a discussion on future events and how we can finance them as community.
But for now, as usually, huge thanks to you Brain for allowing all of us to participate and love the game as it should be loved.
A Nuremberg Tribunal was established to commemorate the end of World War II. Above all, the judgment has ordered the creation of a code of offenses against the peace and security. However, there was a fault in the legal distinction between what should be handled as an attack and what should be treated as a defense. This finally led to UN General Assembly Resolution 3314: Definition of Aggression. What happened on Thursday, Friday, 24, 2022, fits the subject criteria, in my opinion. As a result, Russia will be treated as a "black-flag" jurisdiction, a process that has already begun.
In truth, the process began in 2014 with the seizure of Crimea and in 2008 with the separation of Ossetia from Georgia. A minor Western response allowed these events to take place, but it also allowed me and eSport.fund to host major events. After all, over the past two decades, the StarCraft community has remained apolitical.
Now things are different. The possibility of a financial and political embargo should not be overlooked. This will eventually prevent the participants from receiving their well-deserved rewards. Participants would be unable to access monies originating from Russia.
I decided to postpone this event half a year ago due to COVID hysteria, which prevented everyone from traveling. It was a dream to have a LAN. The incentive is no longer the same. RCG2021/22 appears to be the last major "really international" tournament. And it's best to have it done as soon as possible to avoid having to cancel it altogether.
I despise the underlying reason for such a decision. As do many Russians.
Thanks for that statement, RB. These are tough times, but hearing opposition to what is happening from Russians themselves is as heartening as it gets.
Thanks for your clarity RB! We may be, for the condemnable actions in the Ukraine, divided as nations, but we are united as fans of SC:BW. Much love to you and all the great russian players who, im certain, feel the same way you do.
