Weird to find myself rooting for Light. Glad Mini got exposed.

Real story of the day is Action, though! Mafia zerg hwaiting!

LOL what is that supposed to mean? A player who has been beating big names like Flash online for the last 2 years and made it deep into most tournaments in that time, now he doesn't make it into ro8 for once and is exposed??
So I guess Soulkey was also exposed last ASL when he didn't make it into Ro8?

What got exposed, exactly?

By the way, Mini should be immensely popular among the protosses of group C now.

Mini is definitely slumping. Anyone who has watched his past games and really analyzed what he does would understand that Mini is legit crazy good on a fundamental level. The way he abuses positioning and map control is sublime, and I think the way that he played this time around (super passive, macro-heavy) didn't suit his strengths at all.

I'm ultra amazed that Light made it through so convincingly. I'm still not a believer, seems more likely that Light just had a pretty good day and his opponents threw pretty hard.

Real big cheers to Light. He just held it together perfectly at all times. It did feel indeed that he had a great day and things just clicked. That hold in game 1 vs Larva............ this was just next level.
Seems to me that this is one of the very few things that separates the very top from the many contenders - holding strong when the shit hits the fan. Legends like Flash just seem to never even think of giving up... just fight tooth and nail all the time - on a good day AND on a bad day.

Well yeah, Soulkey's overrated too.

One thing to say Mini got exposed since despite his greatness he's still a bit erratic but Soulkey is as great of a Zerg this game's ever seen.

Great G1 by Light in his series against Larva.

You obviously didn't see prime JD or Savior

Light has always been one of my favorites. Shocking dominance. Loved it. Agree w/ the comment that mimi's passive play didn't suit his style. Wonder why he went gateway --> expo. I've never seen him do that before.

I’ve been following the pro scene for a long time. By great, I’m not referring to pure results but raw talent/knowledge that could be transferrable to any era.

Why unexpected ? Action has proven to be the best active zerg in the world right now (may be behind SK) while Light is 2nd in sb matches behind only Flash

Been a while since Light played this good! Happy for him. Also, Action has been criminally underated for nearly a decade now.

The timing of his burrow upgrade in what we can call "an intense zvz" vs larva is just a small hint on how sharp the guy is at the moment

I've been a fan of Light's since 2006 or 2007, and have had my heart broken so many times in individual leagues with him not performing up to his proleague or practice house standards. So in that sense it's a bit of a pleasant surprise.

So do I I actually gave up on Light when he tried to proxy larva on that funky map in ASL 4 but it looks like he came back stronger after his "small journey as a protoss". Lets face it though, his best shot to make it to RO4 is to face an afkSK in RO8

I see little difference between Zero and SK from that POV. I actually have been souring on SK's play recently. Feels Larva-esque in terms of how defensive he has become. That said, I don't follow the scene *that* closely; this is simply my intuitive impression from watching everything in individual leagues/KCM the past few years.

Guess it doesn't really matter anymore with SK going away for 1.5 years. We'll see what the scene is like then.

I heard promising things about Soma -- is he really that good? Never really got to see much of him.

Soma is worth watching. Took down Rain in KCM this week in a brainy, aggressive, counter-intuitive way. To be a world class Zerg, you need to have the spontaneity and instinct to surprise and strike. Rain was (slightly) ahead, too, in my opinion, until Soma decisively denied Rain's third until it snowballed.
