I think there's a lot of good and bad things about it...both players making huge and small mistakes combined with some really brilliant drop play. Was very weird, but I guess overall enjoyable to watch? | ||

I think the observer snipes by the Goliaths really helped Mong in that engagement. Mines and Tanks proceeded to carve him up after that. Recalling onto mines doesn't help either. I felt Rain was going real good until that moment. | ||

Had he been able to chip away with carriers/lay some storms while Mong advanced, Best would've closed it out easily. | ||

edit: just watched the VODs, and holy fuck how did Mong who has a 46% vP spon match winrate defeat both Best and Rain, two of the top macro tosses? Best and Rain partly played horribly (Rain recalls into mines, wtf... and best does an unlikely carrier switch), but Mong showed some solid TvP. | ||

It is almost exactly like the OSL format, the only change is that the Ro16 groups are also decided with the dual tournament format. | ||

He didn't only lose because of a scouting thing (not to mention he got massively outmacroed that game, and could have most likely held), but he also lost to Mong. The only time it's a little bit unfortunate is when in one group you have one amazing player, one bad player, and two medium players, and then it becomes sort of a Bo1 in the last game. For most part though, it's just a Bo3, and I think it's the best group format for BW. | ||

4 hours is not a long time in the esports world, I see dota tournaments streaming 12 hours straight and then they do it again the next day. The more brood war the better I say. | ||

Brood War games are QUICK, with the longest TvT games still running shorter than the average League of Legends match. I see nothing wrong with watching 6-9 Stork games in a single night. Sounds like a damn good time. | ||

I'm sad that BeSt lost, but Rain deservedly moved on. BeSt really should've been able to beat Mong. His PvT is unreal. Mong just prepared better for the night. PvP is going to be like the Bo1 was even in a Bo3, that's just how PvP is sometimes, it's a complete coinflip and you can lose in build order losses. His macro was not insane, in later game he was 20-30 supply behind Best all the time, it is Mong's positioning and goliath army control that eventually won him the game. Besides Best could not properly defend and almost died to first 3-fac push which he failed to scout and when he did it was too late because he went 3d nexus with barely any units. Moreover for some unknown reason he built his robo far outside of his base making his shuttle useless which could help him in defending the push. But yes, I guess you can say that Mong was better prepared while Best was just too greedy. | ||
