There is no other choice for first place, Pak Joon Oh gon' mix Mong up in a bucket, pour him out on the floor, and wipe up the mess with ZerO (unless Britney surprises, which he does do at times).

I guess. I just want to believe that there is an ancient art of making soundproofed booths, learned only by a few wise, old carpenters atop a holy mountain.
Interview girl to Killer: Anything you want to say to Mong? Killer: Since you've practised so much, show me a good game. Mong: Yeah, I'll show you a good game. Interview girl to Mong: That's it? That's all you want to say? Mong: Yup.

hi! it's been a long time since i watched a match of broodwar. is there someone providing english commentary, or is there anyone doing live discussion on the TL teamspeak server that I could listen to?

Sayle will do an English cast today at 20:00 GMT (+00:00). You could just the the twitch chat for "discussion" of the games.

thanks for the quick reply! looking forward to the english cast
Cant believe killer actually lost this game after having complete map control and having him contained for so long, was it due to the face that he didnt expand enough or should he have teched faster?
I thought that was a great game, even though ofc there were alot of sloppy stuff happening, there was a lot of great map movements and killer just played out the game beautifully
Guys is there a way to quickly set a wide monitor into 4:3 mode (not resolution obviously) with catalyst control center? The bestest starcraft must be watched in native resolution!

i wanted both zero and killer to advance, i believe killer is more solid in both the other match ups so :D this is probaby the best chance for zero and killer to both advance

I agree though games always run wayyyy too long sonic's still in afreeca streaming mode. maybe splitting up 1st set 2nd set and then doing winners loser final on a diff day would be nice but that would totally wreck the schedule

I lb'd zero and killer.
Bold
Why is that bold? Voted the same. I know, Zero hasn't been really strong since he returned but he now had some time we didn't see him until SSL.
ZerO hasn't shown good form, Killer doesn't really lose to anyone in ZvZ, and Mong is just too good in TvZ (as shown vs Killer). ZerO really played well today though.

he did that for SSL7, it was too confusing for the viewers.
Well there have also been some technical difficulties today since it's the first day. I think it'll be much better from now on, when there's no such a big pauses before the start and between the series.
Konadora: he saying he feels bad against killer because he just knocked out the previous defending champion. he also said he couldnt get used to the game because it was hot and an unfamiliar environment Konadora: he also says he is happy because he managed to fulfill what he wanted to do: advancing Konadora: and he says because he defeated killer to advance, he will make sure he will play even harder for him
This is just bad for the tournament. There are so few zergs that can zvt, and few good zergs in general in SSL. The matchup is by far the most biased one in the game, to the point of imbalance, and with Killer out I am afraid that we have already seen the best of zvt.
On January 09 2014 23:48 arbiter_md wrote: Poor Killer. Should have lost the first Bo3 with Mong, and go to losers bracket. This way he would've had better chances.
It would feel even worse for killer fans if he ended losing to britney.
I don't understand why killer didn't clean up the tanks at the 5 o'clock expansion with the same mutas he did clean up the other tanks, but i am just a casual BW viewer, so i don't really know anything about the matchups^^

He wanted/needed to do some damage so he tried morphing them into guardians instantly.
Which, sadly, got scouted and killed off before anything happened.

Errr. Yeah well. Since when do we debate about imbalance in bw? A game that has as good of balance as a RTS of this caliber can get? Mong played really well today and Killer not so much. I'm usually biased towards the zerg in this MU but Mong deserved it to advance. Also Zero may bring up his ZvT on his old level. That would be awesome.

Well yeah i saw that, but i don't really understand why that had more priority than being safe for a while i guess.

Whenever Zero learns to hit Q on his keyboard, then he'll get his zvt back up

He did great in a recent racewar showmatch, beating Mind, Mong and sSak.

Zergs need an higher economic leverage than terran to be on equal ground, so he had to hinder mong's economy no matter what. Mong with that strong economy meant killer wouldn't have enough army power to wipe mong's forces and prevent him from taking all the map and he would be behind the ropes all the time, just as it happened. Killer had to level it up or wouldn't get any chance to get ahead After losing his 3rd all begun to crumble and mong didn't lose the grab of the situation for a moment. Mong played his best there.
On a side note, I think I didn't saw an LR that full of live since the last OSL, goddam. BW
I really, really hope that Zero can do something vs terran in the next rounds. We need zergs, tvz is imo the best matchup, but we need great zergs, and there are very few. I can imagine a bunch of terrans winning the SSL, and zergs? Nah. On a side note, long live BW, Sonic is king, and I have enjoyed every minute of today's matches .

killer was playing catchup - and doing a great job - ever since he lost top left (including like 9 lurkers and many drones) pretty early on. he needed to be offensive while also managing to defend as inexpensively as he could, hence him trying to hold off pushes with just 1 lurker and defiler. the game wasn't over after top left was killed but monq really had a big advantage afterwards.
terran can sometimes come back just through defending and their opponents throwing away units, but zerg can't make a comeback through just defense, they rather need to use lurker+swarm to hold off attacks while stabbing terran in the back.
Had Killer and Mong winning in Liquibets, wanted always wanted at least ZerO to win. Glad ZerO made it out, and Mong beating Killer to not go home in tears.
Rewatched the Killer vs Mong Series now as I came in too late for the live cast. Thought that 5 star game 3 would be overhyped but man, that's the definition of a 5 star game.^^
In retrospect, Zero had a really good chance to exit this tour. I only didn't choose him because I was so confident in Killer's ZvZ. Really enjoying the 25pages of comments, we're starting to roll back into BW nostalgia.

Match 2 interview translation 10:26 Redaxis_: "Britney, we remember your unfortunate performances in previous SSL's how do you feel about this Group A" 10:27 Redaxis_: "there's so many good players in group A, even though i'm confident, but i'm not feeling very well" 10:27 Redaxis_: and then she asked zero the same thing... 10:27 Redaxis_: and then zero said something along the lines of knowing that he has the best accomplishments in group A 10:28 Redaxis_: and then she asked how did britney feel, he said i'll try my best, he's (*not?) confident but he'll try his best 10:28 Redaxis_: and zero said "my hands are cold, i need to go warm up so i can hurry up and play killer" » and the audience got excited for that indirect slap in the face
Mong! After sloppy game on EC I thought Killer will destroy him on FS. But Mong somehow delayed his vessels and made tanks instead and killed zerg's third. The game was so epic! TvZ best match up!
Also is it possible to change votings from number 5/5 to stars, and starting from best to worst? I personally find it better. Like these

Cleaned up interview...
HaKyung: "Yes, ZerO, you beat Killer, how do you feel right now?" ZerO: "I feel fine, but I feel like it was too easy winning and advancing into the Ro16. I'm a bit nervous actually, but I'll be sure to be entertaining in the Ro16."
HaKyung: "You were playing with a sense of determination, but did you plan any ceremony after a win?" ZerO: "I was planning to do a quick ceremony, but it didn't seem right after the fast and easy win so I can't do it this time."
HaKyung: "Wow, you are definitely feeling more confident after the win" ZerO: "Yeah, I'm confident then if I play another easy opponent, I'll be moving on into the Ro8."
HaKyung: "Yes, I'm sure you will be bringing us some exciting games and we'll be waiting for it."

We all have 1 point, and the number of posts is used to break ties. Hence Shellshock #1. But not seeing Konadora #2 means that he voted Killer and Britney? wtf

Oh, that sucks a lot. I guess it can't be helped with time constraints in Ro32 but I think it would be better for the two advancement matches (Winners' and the Group Final) to be the two Bo3s, because that guarantees a higher skill level. Don't understand the logic behind slimming the more decisive matches down further.
