And just my 2c but I think Flash would have lost even if he was focused on BW only. Imho he played to the best of his abilities last OSL and Jangbi still beat him. If Jangbi wasn't so lazy throughout his carrier he would have had much more than 2 OSLs.

There's one lazy Protoss we know about: Stork. Because he straight out admits it. Jangbi's not lazy, that we know about, and he does have more than two OSLs. He also has two MSL silvers, a GOM silver, a Proleague first-half silver (07, lost to fOrGG) and gold (08, beat Chalrenge in the last set to secure a 4-1). We're not talking NaDa, Flash, or Jaedong levels of hardware here, but Jangbi's one of the most accomplished progamers out there despite a year-long slump in the middle or his career.

This final didn't seem real in a way. So many mistakes by Fantasy. I mean watch game 4 and compare it to Go.go vs Bisu. Go.go played better than Fantasy. Or watch game 3 and compare it to Snow vs Flash on FS.

This.

Given how well Fantasy was playing his play in the finals just wasn't that impressive. Really disappointing, especially considering the fact that I wanted Jangbi to lose just as much as I wanted Fantasy to win But Jangbi was the better player that day, it's Fantasy's fault for not playing as well as he should have.

Fantasy actually won. When the finals is between two silver miners, the one who wins second is the real winner.

By only 2 OSLs I ment OSL titles. And him having 2 silvers is exactly my point. The one vs Luxury could have easily been a gold. Also if you've seen the Nal'Ra starcraft reality where he goes around progaming houses, you would have heard Stork say Jangbi was the laziest and that often times he would just play for a hour or two while the others played 12h +.

Sure.

And New England could have won the Super Bowl, and Munich could have won the Champions League, and Barcelona could have won the Primera, and fantasy could have a Golden Mouse, and Feck could have not landed on his ass in the water.

Jangbi's already hugely accomplished - why are you building him into some hypothetical best-of-all-time monster and then saying, "Well, he didn't get there 'cause he was lazy." He didn't get there for any number of reasons, and the easiest - and obvious - is that he just wasn't good enough. He's never been as impressive as Flash or Jaedong at their peaks; he may not even really have matched the aura of Bisu (or BeSt through his first years) until recently.

Woah, I would understand Bisu but BeSt? JangBi have made into THREE finals while BeSt was humiliated by JulyZerg. The order of Dragons goes from Tier 1: Bork > Tire 2: JangBi > Tier 3: BeSt/Kal > Tier 4: Free.

It was definitely not that JB wasn't good enough in terms of gameplay. JangBi's multitask can rival out Bisu's. It was even stated by the Revolutionist himself when he faced JB on Destination that the Almighty was always just step ahead of him.

And the last 2 years, JangBi have been much more impressive than Flash and ESPECIALLY Jaedong. But prior to that, while his multitask ability carried through, he was always doing a little bit of everything in his build and tried to be too fancy for his own good. But nowadays, he finally decide to translate those APM into meticulous surgical strategies.

Great finals. A bit less than epic to be a legendary finals, not as memmorable as Jangbi's miraculous play in the Set 5 last OSL, but still a great match.

+ Show Spoiler +
Some of the last few posts have condemned Jangbi as being cheesy, but I really don't see that at all. He was simply punishing greedy Terran fast CC play with shuttle play and DTs. Was that wrong? It wasn't an all-in, it was well-executed harass and delay tactic (the tactic didn't quite work in Game 2, but nonetheless did pressure Fantasy to get turrets which delayed his normal play). I think it was fair. I haven't seen enough games to know the meta-game, but perhaps Fantasy could've defended better?

Anyway, I have a question on Game 1. Despite not harrassing or pushing Fantasy much, Jangbi quite easily pulled ahead with a quicker 3rd nexus. I believe this gave him the early advantage, which he rode on to win. How did he do this? Again, not too sure about the meta-game. Did Fantasy did something wrong here, or Jangbi did something right? Thanks, anyone who can explain!

I believe this early advantage was mainly a product of how cleanly Jangbi shut down Fantasy's dropship play. Getting such an early Starport and dropships to harass, plus devoting tanks to that harass, severely delays and hampers a Terran's ability to move out at a timing to punish a 3rd base. His only recourse is to shave Jangbi's economy with the drops themselves, but Jangbi parried them with ease.

Thanks, that's true. I was really expecting Fantasy's dropship to do some real damage to Jangbi's 3rd base, but his game-sense was spot on and had dragoons ready to defend. Guess this showed that Jangbi was well-equipped to play greedy macro play as well, and did not rely purely on cheese.

As for Game 2, did his early DTs backfired badly? I thought that Fantasy slowing down his econ and units to build turrets was enough to compensate for Jangbi's investment in DTs. Either way, what was the turning point? Fantasy's faster, unpunished 3rd CC?

His DTs never managed to deal dmg to except one single vulture. With the amount of money that JangBi have devoted into the build, his productions have been severely hampered with his lack of gateways and had a delayed Expansion to Fantasy's quick third.

Throughout the rest of the game, he was fighting in the backfoot the entire engagements which admirably did extremely well given the circumstances. And that Tank line breakage with Arbiter's spell-casting support was gallant. But I think that turning point of the game was Fantasy's resilient vulture movements that encumbered JangBi's micro to defend them.

That tank breakage was a disaster either way, but it could end much worse. And yes, it was vulture movement that prevented Jangbi to hold his units on proper position to succesfull flanking attack.

It appears you don't know how fucking good BeSt was (except vZ) in mid-late 2008. Especially at PvP.
