I must say, I'm amazed that Flash lost twice in one day. Amazed, but very pleased. Stopped watching the series after KTF levelled it at 2-2 as I was far too tired. Watching the ACE match as I type this now!

By the way, where's the formal documentation that Starcraft is dead? One more OSL and that's it?

Seriously, as a team coach would you risk putting Hoejja against Bisu?

His choice really was between Stats and Flash, and anything but letting Flash step up there would have been...well I don't even have a word.
On a map that's 11-3 (lol soO & CH) for Zerg after such a flawless display maybe, but really, c'mon.

fucking amazing series. fantasy got to play flash and then holy fuck the last game was a lot more epic than I thought it would be. Well worth not sleeping until like 10:30 AM (just woke up now, 7 PM lolol).

In retrospect, Flash's incredible winning percentage hasn't come against top players on the big stage. Recent "Grand Slams" have been against relatively unknown and inferior players who "lucked out" to make it into the quarters, semis and final. This is a relatively weak Starcraft era we're in - aside from Flash, Jaedong, Bisu and Fantasy, I'm not convinced that there are any other "Super Grandmasters" around. It's just a real pity that this "big 4" aren't consistent enough to make it into the latter stages of the "Grand Slams" to face each other.

Anyway, I made the point that Flash lost to a "Super GM" on arguably the biggest Starcraft stage of all time, earlier in this thread, and argued that Flash cannot be considered the GOAT (particularly since he's only tied with NaDa for number of Grand Slams). Since then, he's in fact lost twice to separate "Super GMs" on the biggest stage, the latter loss perhaps the most important match of all time - the ACE game of what appears to be the final Proleague match of all time.

NaDa is still the GOAT in my eyes. He went through a period of absolute domination, slumped (perhaps related to the death of his Father), and showed why he's the GOAT to come back and crush the then World Number 1, sAviOr, in the "Year End Championships" with a proxy Factory and trademark Vulture micro that is still today what I consider the greatest attack I've ever seen:
http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/games/7479_NaDa_vs_sAviOr/vod

Anyway, sorry about the NaDa rant. I'm just shocked that no one seems to talk about the above match where NaDa made a proxy Factory and lifted it into sAviOr's base and did some incredible Vulture harass. The proxy Factory and Vulture harass were a joy to behold already, but the fact that he executed it to perfection on the big stage against an all-time great (playing at his peak) is just beyond incredible.

EDIT: for those who will comment that Flash beat Jaedong at least three times to win OSL/MSL finals, fair enough!

I don't like most these players, especially those from CJ but saying BW doesn't have better players aside from the TBLS is ..
Let's just get to the names:

Leta
Horang2
Neo.G_Soulkey
Zero
Jangbi
Light(TvZ)
Jaehoon
Calm
Bogus
Best
Stats

These guys can snatch a BoX series off TBLS.
It's either the holes of my nose are getting smaller or my fingers are getting bigger. /// Always Rooting for the Underdog. Hyuk/Sin/Jaehoon/Juni/Hyvva/Hoejja/Canata //// Hiding in thread somewhere where BW is still in it's pure form here on TL.

ridiculous to believe that the 1-2 punch of stats and FLASH went 0-3 in a GRAND finals.

It hurts but it shows you that BW competition is not really dead, if all players are focused 100% on BW they can bring GREAT games. It was hard time with anticipation for unknown for players, they mixed BW and SC2 etc. Im so stoked for OSL after this finals, tbh i was expecting mediocre finals like 1 year ago, but this totally blown my mind. If OSL will be even close to that it will be awesome.

And its not really that Flash fucked up super hard or something its rather fact that Fantasy and Bisu played THAT good. It should be appreciated that there are some people who can show S-class games when it matters.

People who know 10x more about BW than you ever will have cited flash as the best of all time.

All 6 matchups played -- and one of the craziest ZvZs to date?

BW is magical.

If this is the end of proleague, at least it was a glorious one...

I just hope this doesn't affect Flash's mentality too much. It would be a huge shame if his performance starts dropping and he starts slumping after these finals. I really looked forward to seeing him curb stomp the best of SKT1 last night, and though he played well, Bisu and Fantasy just played even better.

And I find it ironic that KT's wins came not from their Flash+Stats two-punch combo, but from their Zerg line. Good for Hoejja, CH, and Action.
