You say absolutely nobody- there are still roughly 650 on yellow in 1v1 ladder. It's also relevant that people WILL come off their new-fangled fish server laddering to prove eligibility for this tourney.

I'm pretty sure he thinks the invites aren't smurfs, however, since he is an invite he may know for a fact that they are smurfs and is attempting to cover up for said smurfs, because, logically, if he were a smurf, he wouldn't single himself out as not being a smurf because then its just too obvious because he's making himself an exception, therefore, the only logical assumption that we can make is he knows this and therefore decided it would be even worse if he just floated his name along with the other smurfs because that would be the less obvious thing to do and therefore the more logical choice to avoid because we're going to be expecting a smurf to try and be discrete. Therefore, through deep analysis, there is no other conclusion to draw other than Snipinpanda is actually Scan.

How will we prevent smurfs? Through IP / hotkey checks?
Since money is involved I would not be surprised at people attempting to sneak their way in.

Just to make this as clear as possible, the ladder stage will be between the players on the iccup team ONLY. This means that if you aren't playing people who are on the very same team as you once the ladder starts, you are doing it wrong. Thank you.

We are, like you said, checking IP's and such. We're completely prepared if someone were to try and smurf the tournament like S(c)nipin_pandA

Accusing others of being scan, a clever ploy to cover up the fact that you, are indeed scan.

Since it's only matches within the team, a good way to avoid smurfs is just to not play people you don't know, amirite? That way smurfs won't get any games.

Just cause you know them doesn't mean they wont cheat at some point in the league and just cause you don't know them, doesn't mean they are smurfs, in fact I don't see any kind of tie here. It's likely that the ladder stage has some smurfs, also likely that players get people to play for them in the later stages, just going to have to see if Shimy is prepared for this. Bottom line, even if you ladder a legit C rank, you have no idea if he'll cheat later on.
P.S. I hope some higher ranked teams will be paying attention here for some new talent!

hope there wont be too many smurfs. bound to be at least 1
1)You do not have to join the team, but if you want to ladder aside the fellow players, you are more than welcome.
2)Maps are still being discussed.
3)You need to send another email notifying of any IP change and the staff will ask everyone to submit their IP's each round.
4) We're kicking butts and taking names when it comes to smurfs

I would like every B- and up player to know that I fully support this event as well as Shimy's efforts in preparing it. If any of you are caught smurfing into this league, you will receive a permanent ban from any league which involve myself as the organization.

Like I would actually win any Also, I'm moving the number 20 down to 12 after seeing how people might cheat the system.
